They all were anti-social and needed a load of attention that we assumed that their previous owners just were mean to them. The three we got here, only one relaxed and found out we weren't like their 1st owners but the other two were not violent but they were not good family dogs but those are the chances you take in rescuing an animal. It was not the SPCA's fault they were that way but many would blame the shelter and that is not right. But what in the world is right today??

However, they use your compassion for animals to get you to do more work than necessary. I asked and made it clear I did not want to engage in a disciplinary meeting at that point in time about shallow, petty, and pedantic procedures I had shortcomings on, while other people make bigger mistakes and not one word is said to them. NOT ONE WORD. They knew my mother was making my life extra-stressful. I gave them all the details. They. Do. Not. Care. "No means no" - until a man says it. Men are not valued at this job and hold minimal if not nonexistent postitions of authority or management. The majority of the staff is female. Men hold ZERO positions of any kind of authority or influence. The management is mean at best and downright sadistic and psychologically predatory at worst while mixing in some "Mean Girls" high school drama. You want to take out your life's frustrations on your subordinates because your genetics are faulty? Get out. I had nothing to do with your failings. I am not the first and I sure as sugar won't be the last. Enjoy your high turn-over rate. Maybe if you didn't fire people for expressing their opinion then the turn-over rate would be nominal. Imagine that. You let me down. You let me down so low and I needed your support. I asked for you to not fight the unemployment but here we are omitting facts to protect your sorry bum. The decision was made before I touched the door and you know that. It was an accident and the door was broken in the same manner previously. You have a repair-man on payroll. Its a non-issue, stop lying to yourself and the state to play victim. That protective custody dog got attacked by another dog while under your protection. That dog that attacked got put down for it. It makes me wonder if you did the right thing or if you omitted facts like you did with me?

I signed up for individual classes, which are very expensive. He also requires a contract, which I didn't think too much of when I signed on. Important question to ask if you decide to pay for individual classes (which you have to pre- pay for multiple classes): what is his availability. It was really difficult to find a time that was convenient for him. Further, there was a lot of cancellations on his part, which was really surprising as expected these to be professionally scheduled. Then to reschedule, it was always for the following week. Bottom line: I paid a total of $1,200 to Colin for individual training sessions, which Were held over a 4 1/2 month time period. During this time, he had issues with both his email and his phone, so there was quite a challenge in trying to reach him. There were two weeks that he was unavailable because he was out of town. There were three cancellations because he was sick. For instance, we were scheduled for April 3rd, and he cancelled 3 hours before because he strained his leg. Next available appointment for him was April 14th. Next date was April 19th, which he cancelled because the weather wasn't good. Next available date for him was not until April 27th. Ridiculous. Our next appointment was for May 5th, which he cancelled a few hours before our session because he had a stomach bug. He rescheduled for May 6th, but cancelled that day as well. He then wanted to reschedule for the week of May 13th. At this point, I had pre-paid him $1,200, working with him for 4.5 months, and was only able to complete 10 private sessions with him. He still owed 2 sessions, but refused to refund me the unused amount. And my dog was still not walking well on a leash! A lot of time, money and effort for no results. Don't waste your time, money, or effort with him. I started to work with Sue Oakes at Oakes K9 Training, and what a difference. Her sessions are only $50, and there is no need to pre-pay. She is easy to schedule with and has not cancelled once. And the best part: my dog is walking well on her leash. So forget the hassles and the expense, and start working with a professional.

The very first visit with Renee many years ago, I had newly adopted a dog that was severely abused and had serious anxiety as a result. I'm not sure he had ever gotten his nails trimmed before but he was not happy about it. This dog proceeded to thrash and growl (never snap) while Renee was doing his nails. Renee NEVER hesitated for one second! she remained calm, talked to him sweetly the entire time and got his nails trimmed in no time, I've neve seen someone show so much compassion for an animal that was so scary, SHE'S AMAZING!
