I was impressed with their intake - we had a thorough conversation going through his checklist to get info about the cat to make sure her sitters/hosts would know specific details about the cat (how much I usually feed her, that she doesn't like being petted on the stomach, etc). At the end of the day it's just a cat and all I really cared about was making sure she had food and water and was safe, but this was so much better than boarding her in a tiny cage or having a pet sitter stop by for just a few minutes a day. Based upon the booking screening, it was clear that the company is professional, well-run, and focused. They provide transportation for your pet to and from their boarding stay and even provide daily pictures of your pet via text. We were very happy with the arrangements until, in the middle of our vacation, we were told that our dog had an episode of weakness and was rushed to our vet whose information we provided at booking. Andrew stayed with our pet and transported him to the overnight Emergency vet for observation. Everything turned out fine and Andrew picked up our pet to finish his stay. Andrew went out of his way and not only did everything for our pet that we could have done, but he also kept us informed and comforted. The integrity, compassion, and dedication that PetsAreInn demonstrated during our time of deep concern helped us greatly and made us happy we chose a stay with a family in their home versus in a traditional pet kennel. Andrew at PetsAreInn was our pet's guardian angel, and we will look forward to using his service without hesitation going forward.

UPDATE: This place is horrible and should have been shut down years ago. After our ordeal, I…read morereported them to the dog warden who based on our photos, timeline, and our dog's vet record said it warranted an investigation. She reported that when they went there for an unannounced investigation, everything was to code so at that point, there wasn't much more we could do. I'm just glad that they took it serious enough to look into. As I had mentioned in my original post, which you can read below, the owners will try to twist things and put the blame back on the dog's owners. From my post on Nextdoor (if you live in Buck County, you can look up my name on Nextdoor to see the post from 2 years ago and read through the many responses of people sharing their shocking experiences with Holiday House), I have since learned that lack of care - to say the least - is not atypical. People posted about wrong dogs being returned, dogs coming back traumatized, dogs being returned extremely ill, and even one poster sharing that their dog died in while being boarded there. If you care for your pet, do not use this place. It's been a couple of years since our horrible experience boarding our dog there, and to this day, we are all still scarred by it and the memory of what our dog looked like when we picked her up, the thousands of dollars we spent to get her heatlhy, and her health issues she suffered from because of their lack of care for her basic well being. Also, our credit card company even reimbursed us for the fees we paid to Holiday House - again based on photos, timeline and medical records from out vet. They agreed that Holiday House did not provide the care they promised us.
