They emailed, texted & complained every day. I shadowed the most autistic child one day, and he was fine, the other child splashed water & was told to stop. Lastly, I gave them a $40 personal check for additional snacks, later to find out they didn't receive them bc they weren't on the list. Never, Ever will I let my kids suffer through that again. I think they are scammers.

Not a "resort" type camp w/ jet skiing etc but just a sweet traditional sleepaway camp. Archery, boating, horseback riding, campfires, etc. Classic fun! No electronics allowed. The family camp weekends in Labor Day & Memorial Day weekend are fun for our family. The girl's camp across the lake is great too!

There is a huge indoor field that have tarps that separate it into two sections. Apparently they only have one staffer who knows how to lift the tarp. We had to use a series of bungee cords to jury-rig an opening ourselves. The hallways in this place are narrow, so it's not easy to get large numbers of people in and out. So make sure to get a look at the place so you can plan your event accordingly. All that aside, we had a very good time here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. With proper planning you can have a great time here!

Tanner has the making of a TV personality beyond compare. Kristina is the mother of all mothers- taking the time to talk and interact with the children in attendance. Denver was busy keeping the event spaces clear and clean... all the while smiling and helping people navigate the space. And lastly we have Sam who was such a joy during check in. Smiling and so sweet. A great first impression to this event. I would highly recommend checking out an event they hold. ArtFest is coming.. and I can't wait to attend.

There is something magical about this place. The lives that have been touched, both youth and staff, and the connections made. I recommend that parents and guardians send their children to sleep-away camp. The changes that happen in 4-8 weeks are remarkable. Appel Farm has scholarship programs to help pay. And, honestly, if you have the money to donate to the cause, please do. I've seen a youth's life change for the better over and over here. I worked as a staff member years ago. I've recently been back as a non-staff person, just to observe and experience the magic again.
