just words alone aren't even enough to show how I feel about this place…read more. For a school trip on June 3, I was there as a chaperone for my kids.. well later on in the day, there was this one lifeguard. not sure of her name but she wore glasses and had blonde hair, skinny and tall. This lifeguard is a monster! She should be fired. First off, she wasn't doing her job and said to the children "yo, stop splashing me, go move somewhere else" in a rude tone acting like getting wet isn't part of her job. Second there were kids almost drowning and she did nothing about it, instead she yelled at kids for sitting on the ledge of the pool and when my daughter responded with just an "okay", she flipped out and told her to get out of the pool for giving an attitude, then when my daughter and her friends were passing by, she called them fat acting like that won't have an impact on their self image.. how could a worker be like that? How horrible.. not only that but the place is dirty and infested with bugs, there were bugs flying all over and in the bathroom there were roaches.. they don't clean at all and the curtains were easy to see in.. I don't recommend going here for just that reason, but the other workers were nice, just not that bimbo lifeguard not doing her job..

My 4 year old grandson, who is very large for his age, and was only there for 2 hours, was separated from the other children, because he was doing his own little thing. We explained this at his interview, which we did bring him, and they saw how he acted, and still told us it would be OK, since in the summer they hire young college students who are trying to get their teaching degree to assist. The front desk team is always friendly, flexible, and incredibly helpful when it comes to scheduling make-up classes. A special shoutout to coaches Maribel and CJ --they've been exceptionally professional, patient, friendly and consistently encouraging. I also highly recommend the Summer Clinic Program--the daily evaluations really accelerated her growth and gave us great insight into her progress. It's a safe, supportive, and fun place for any child to learn to swim.I highly recommend it to other parents!

The instructors are generally good and our kids have learned a ton - which is the point of lessons…read more However, they are constantly rotating or changing instructors which has been challenging for our youngest. Her current instructor is beyond amazing though. Our biggest problem with Bear Paddle is the facility. It feels disgusting. I understand the locker room will be wet, but the floor always looks dirty too, and it doesn't feel just wet, but slimy. It smells like strongly of urine half the time, and sometimes feces. Which leads me to believe they don't clean well enough and they likely need their drains cleaned. The floors in the changing rooms have gunk buildup. The walls are filthy. They need a professional cleaning service to clean multiple times a week, the floors need an acid wash and to be disinfected everyday. The walls need to be cleaned. I don't want to sound harsh or nit picky, I just don't think it's asking too much for cleanliness to be a high priority in a facility where kids and families change and expose their bodies to water, floors, benches, etc. Particularly for what they charge, considering they don't offer more flexible payment setup options. I don't want to keep my bank info on file, and the fees for cards are obnoxious---the tuition never seems to stay the same month over month either. Again, really do love most of the staff and instructors--and I love how far our kids have come by going here. But I'm to the point where we are probably going to have to switch schools, because I can't risk my young ones by exposing them to whatever is going on with that locker room.

So, here's my story…read more March of 2021, we registered to reserve a spot for our daughter to attend. We let the ladies at Chesterbrook know that we were looking to move, and made sure to verify that our deposit would be refundable should we move out of the area. A few months later, we did wind up moving too far to make Chesterbrook a viable option, and began the process of having our money returned to us. Fast forward to March of 2022, and the quest continues. We have called FOURTEEN TIMES, spoken to a dizzying amount of "Laurens" and even had the one person that was handling our request go on maternity leave. Think about that; the person that was supposed to see to our refund had time to get pregnant, began maternity leave, and our money is still not refunded. I have been told countless times that I will receive a phone call. I usually don't. I have called their parent company, Spring Education Group, who have ALSO ignored my voice messages. You can't leave a voice message at Chesterbrook, as their mailbox is full. We have been patient, polite, understanding and calm through this whole ordeal. The ladies at Chesterbrook are always very nice and respectful when we do get to interact with them, but it's obvious that once they have your money, you're no longer a priority. The school itself seemed pretty old and a bit worn when we took our tour, but because the staff seemed so pleasant, we decided to make sure we reserved a spot. (Another thing they were a hard sell on.....they made sure to impress upon us that we should reserve immediately, or the spots would be gone. Red flag.) If I had known communication would be so rough, I never would have signed up. All I want is my refund. My daughter never set foot in their school, yet they are holding on to almost $500 of my money.
