My twins sons have been working with Talking Tree Therapy and Shay for the past 4 months and I would highly recommend for anyone looking for speech therapy in Santa Barbara! The boys absolutely love Ms Shay and look forward to coming to speech each week. She is so warm, fun and loving with the boys and gets right down on their level to really interact with them. She encourages parents to observe during their sessions which is great because I've learned techniques that I can bring home and work with the boys on throughout the rest of the week. Both of my boys are high energy and she constantly is so patient with them and each lesson is something new that they haven't done before so it's always keeping them highly engaged. She does a great job at working with them and integrating fun activities into the lesson so half the time they don't even realize they're doing the "work". At the end of the sessions they can choose if they want to have a turn on the climbing wall which is always a hit. The building is located conveniently downtown and every time we walk in all the kids and teachers seem genuinely happy to be there. I have noticed such a difference already in their speech and am so grateful that we found Ms Shay at Talking Tree Therapy! Highly Recommend.

She has endless methods and tools to individualize the work that builds our daughter's speech skills and supports her confidence through play. Our daughter looks forward to her sessions with Shelley. As the parent, I feel our daughter and our family are very cared for and supported with Shelley. We plan to continue to work with Shelley because of her excellent level of knowledge and caring dedication in our daughter's speech development. I have no doubt she has taught her life skills to practice the work of learning.

As someone pursuing a career in speech-language pathology, I am so grateful for everything I was able to learn during my time here, as well as the connections I built. I had the opportunity to observe a variety of therapy sessions and learn about different treatment approaches. One thing that really stood out to me was how the SLP's create such a positive, fun, and comfortable environment for their clients while still working towards their individual goals. My experience at Mosaic not only taught me so much about the field but also strengthened my passion for becoming an SLP. I am so grateful to have been part of such an amazing team and would highly recommend Mosaic Therapy Collective to anyone looking for a caring, knowledgeable, and dedicated group of SLPs!

Our 2-year-old daughter has also been attending for the past three months, and we are already seeing such meaningful improvements. The therapists at Mosaic are beyond wonderful--so kind, patient, and genuinely invested in each child's growth. Their talent, compassion, and dedication shine through in everything they do. Caitlin has been our therapist the whole time and she is the best in Santa Barbara in my opinion. This place has truly changed our family's life for the better, and we are so grateful for the support and care we've received. We wholeheartedly recommend Mosaic Therapy to any family looking for high-quality, compassionate care for their children with special needs.

All three of my boys are dyslexic, and I have spent years fighting a system that was fully prepared…read moreto let them fall through the cracks academically. By the time I realized how severe the situation truly was, thanks to years of the school district lying, manipulating and gaslighting me, my children were years behind and being pushed through school without the ability to properly read, write, or do math independently. I refused to allow that to become their future. Like many parents of struggling learners, I was desperate to find help -- and unfortunately, not all "experts" are created equal. We had an extremely painful experience with our first educational therapist, whose treatment of my child caused real emotional harm. After that, I became incredibly guarded, skeptical, and hypercritical of anyone I considered bringing into my son's life. I wasn't just looking for someone qualified. I needed someone safe, compassionate, ethical, patient, and genuinely skilled at teaching complex learners. Thank god for Kellie Henkel at Lights On Learning. Kellie completely changed Hudson's life. In just ONE year, she helped Hudson close massive academic gaps -- literally 4-6 grade levels in multiple areas. The progress has been unbelievable. What felt impossible a year ago is now our reality. Hudson went from feeling defeated and overwhelmed by school to believing in himself academically again. But what makes Kellie extraordinary is not just her skill level -- it's who she is as a person. She is kind, patient, calm, compassionate, encouraging, deeply knowledgeable, and an absolute badass when it comes to teaching kids with learning differences. She knows exactly how to push students while still protecting their confidence and emotional well-being. Hudson trusted her. He felt safe with her. She rebuilt not only academic skills, but self-esteem. As a mother who has lived through the trauma of watching her children be failed by schools and hurt by professionals who were supposed to help them, I cannot explain the level of gratitude I feel for Kellie. She will forever be part of our family's story. If your child is struggling -- trust your gut. Do not let anyone convince you your child is lazy, unmotivated, or incapable. The right intervention and the right teacher can completely change the trajectory of a child's life. Kellie Henkel did exactly that for Hudson, and I will never be able to thank her enough for what she has done for our family.

We wanted him to get the help he needed before attending Kindergarten. We were so happy when we found Kellie and could not believe how quickly our son made progress. Not only did she help our son but she also helped my husband and I understand what was happening with our son's speech and explained ways that we could help him using her proven methods. Kellie knows how to engage with her students and makes learning fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend her!
