I've been to Talking Stick Casino three times, once for a concert, once for a comedy show, and once the week of my birthday. Out of the three casinos I've been to in Phoenix since I've moved here, Talking Stick is my favorite. First off, the casino is a sight o behold at night. It lights up in neon colors that is visible from the highway. It definitely makes an impression. Once you arrive, there's plenty of free parking. Let's talk about the concert first. The concert was held outside in the pool area. The set up was pretty awesome. I was impressed with the stage and the views from general admission. All in all, solid for an outdoor venue. And this is coming from the self-appointed king of concerts. The drinks are expensive, but that's unfortunately pretty much to be expected at an event. Sticking with events, the comedy show was held inside the casino. There were some tables and some seats at the bar which were all full when I arrived. We ended up standing during the comedy show. Not a biggie, but a little more seating would be nice. Last but not least, on my third visit, I explored the casino a lot more. While everyone is gambling, don't miss the culture center. Hear you'll find artwork, pottery, and more from the Pima Salt River tribe that owns the casino. There's additional artwork spread out throughout the casino. Overall, the casino is well maintained and laid out well. I'm also happy that they host concerts and comedy shows, too. Though make sure not to confuse Talking Stick Resort with Talking Stick Amphitheater (solely a concert venue). Two different locations that are far away from each other. Pro tip: If you stop by the month of your birthday, they will hook you up with a free birthday shirt and necklace. Pretty awesome! Generally a very nice experience. My fiancée and I enjoyed a stay at talking stick over the weekend. We really enjoyed the massage experience. The staff that the spa were nice enough to discount the price of the spa experience due to the steam room and jacuzzi being under construction and inoperable when I visited. The view from the spa patio is wonderful- highly recommend! We also enjoyed the pool at the resort. It is big enough for lots of people to enjoy without feeling overcrowded. I did find the hot tub appeared a bit dirty with lots of little leaves in the water. However, this is minor critique compared to the overall good experience. I would also say we were a bit lost when arriving to the hotel. We had to walk around a bit before we figured out where to go. It is my recommendation to improve signage when arriving from the 101 so hotel guests can figure out exactly where to go without driving around aimlessly. The room service was lightning fast, offsetting the somewhat expensive cost. The food was also delicious so I'm really not complaining... all things considered, it was a great stay! read more

When you first walk into the room, it looks really nice. It's a nice layout and our room had a nice view of the mountains. However, once you try to go to bed, the bed itself is not very comfortable. Couldn't really sleep very well. Also, the staff were just OK. They weren't very accommodating. Don't think we'll rush back anytime soon. We like to stay here once in a while in Room 3348 to be specific, best corner room with the golf course/mountain view. The balconies are huge, rooms are good but they need to put a small chair in there not just a desk chair. Bathroom is great. Very quiet. Casino is always very busy but we had a very nice dinner up on the top floor at Orange Sky. Food and service were amazing! Best restaurant there. Check it out! Front desk staff on the other hand need to step it up, not friendly whatsoever and they told us our room wasn't ready and then we waited til almost 4 and went to check back and it was finally ready but no one let us know. The show was delayed due to the previous running past schedule but they managed it well. Heavy security was present during the show and everyone had a great time. My hubby planned a surprise overnight trip on Sat 12/20 for my birthday. Just the 2 of us. He booked a king room with a patio. The hotel, rooms, casino & restrooms are very clean. But hubby was disappointed with the room. Although it was nice, it wasn't anything special. It was modern, but lacked lighting. The patio was the best part. We had 180 degrees of Mountain View. He said the room was not what the pictures showed. There were no chairs. There was 1 desk chair. One of the drawers was broken in the bench at the bottom of the bed. The bed was really comfortable, but the pillows are small for a king bed. There were not anymore in the closet. There is sheets & a heavy comforter, but no blanket. The casino is confusing. We had a difficult time finding the cashiers once we were walking around. There are multiple kiosks to cash out. However, they do not dispense coins. Therefore, they ended up getting a few dollars from us. Been there, done that, don't need to do it again. read more

It's upstairs by players services where you get your players cards just up the stairs. The Cajun restaurant there is the bomb. I would definitely check that place out. This is an amazing resort. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. This resort has a casino, multiple restaurants and pools, golf course and a gift shop. During my stay there were two concerts so the main pool was closed but I definitely enjoyed the west pool. The pool has a bar where you can purchase drinks and food. Resort was secure and elevators to the rooms have security to check keys at all times before you can access the elevators. There are free shuttles that will take you to nearby areas of the staff is available. The rooms are very clean and room service will clean everyday. The resort provides house shoes. You can also get $25 free play which can be used at the casino. The resort has a live band and dj on certain nights. The resort is very well kept and all the staff were great. What a wonderful day we all had! The deluxe cabana was air conditioned, with a big couch and chair, a fridge fully stocked with water, a ton of extra towels and even a safe. The best part was a bathroom with shower: no running off to the restroom inside and the option of showering was a plus! Tasha took care of us all day with drinks, food and her lovely personality. We shared a platter of wings that I thought were the best I'd eaten in ages. Perfectly browned and very deliciously crispy, with several choices of dips. Also had sweet potato waffle fries and yummy fried onion rings. A couple plates of onion rings actually ....and two fruit tarts to share, with custard and fresh fruit, which is one of my favorite desserts since childhood. I had the lobster roll which was good, yes, but from the menu description I expected it to be lobster, melted butter, and lemon; instead it was more lobster salad with green salad strips and other ingredients in a roll was kinda 'meh' for me. The cabana next to us wasn't reserved so we had the smaller pool to use as well; I like being in the sun but my friends were more shade people so that worked out very well! Tasha was alway coming to see if we needed any more drinks or food and we really appreciated her being around and making the pool day even better. There weren't many people at the pool -and no screaming children - allowing for a fun and relaxing day out! The walk through the Casino was nice too, we had to get our wristbands from the Ki Gift Shop and ended up walking all around the floor instead of veering left right away, but it was still worth checking out the tables and what was happening at the machines. This was my first time at the pool, I'd been to the Casino before to gamble, but if we plan another PoolParty day I definitely will put Talking Stick up to have it there. Stayed here over the holidays and had a great experience. The room was spacious, clean, and had a nice view. Check-in was smooth, and the location is super convenient, close to Topgolf, food spots, and shopping. Room service was solid, and the $25 beverage credit was a nice perk even though I didn't use it. Just a couple of small things to note: Apple Pay wasn't accepted for incidentals, and the bathroom had a sliding door with no fan, so a bit less privacy. Went there last Sunday and got a room with my lady it was a very nice room bed was Unreal comfortable. We took a shower the shower was very nice didn't get a chance to use the bathtub but it looked like it could have been extremely comfortable for two also. Went downstairs had a really nice meal stopped at the bar for a couple drinks. This place is so cool! Everyone knows about it. I don't even generally like casinos much, but had a really fun time here. There are several bars in the area with live music, and that's a fun place to hang out and get a drink. Then there's a fancy poker room where only the best players are allowed to go apparently!! So we watched that from afar lol. Then also a sports betting area, where people are sitting around watching sports as they watch for their bets to come to fruition, which is a pretty chill way to bet it seemed. Of course they also have blackjack, roulette, and slot machines (which was the only thing I tried lol). Lots of people, quite crowded, and popular avenue for bachelor parties too. The one drawback I would say is just how huge the place is, so it takes a while to get to different bars or areas and can be confusing and bit of a walk from parking. read more

The goods, rooms were clean, beds comfy, room & balcony are large, has lots of options for food, free self parking or valet just tips, lots of amenities. Meh; didn't receive my Expedia food credit. Security proceeded to watch us on cameras as we went to another bar and they warned us about buying drinks from the previous as if we were card counting on a table. Kudos to the second bartender who was nice and warned us. This casino acts like one on the strip, but couldn't hold the flamingos jock if they wanted to. Casinos are supposed to be places of excitement, entertainment, and customer appreciation--especially for those who spend generously at the tables. Unfortunately, my recent experience at a particular casino has left me feeling Degraded, frustrated, and deeply disappointed. Over the course of two separate visits, both my boyfriend's family and I were wrongly accused of being intoxicated, and the way we were treated by security and staff was COMPLETELY unacceptable. A few months ago, my boyfriend's father was playing at a blackjack table when he was approached by security and told he was too drunk to remain in the casino. Everyone at the table, including the blackjack dealer, immediately spoke up in his defense, insisting that they had the wrong person. Despite the initial over aggression from security, the situation was eventually diffused and he was allowed to stay--only because the dealer vouched for him. At the time, we assumed it was a mistake. Now I believe it's part of a larger issue. Just recently, I visited the same casino and ordered a drink while sitting in the high-limit room. Later, I ordered a second drink, but the server returned with drinks for everyone except me. When I asked about mine, she said she'd go grab it--yet it never arrived. I eventually walked to the bar, and a man behind the counter apologized and said he would bring it to me shortly. Ten minutes later, while I was playing a slot machine nearby, that same man approached me and told me I was too drunk and needed to leave. I was stunned. I had only consumed one drink the entire evening. There was absolutely no basis for the accusation--no slurred speech, no inappropriate behavior, and no signs of intoxication whatsoever. As the situation escalated, more staff members began approaching me. I walked over to the blackjack table where my boyfriend's dad was playing, and once again, the dealer confirmed that I had been quietly sitting at the table all night and had caused no problems. Despite this, a woman--who was particularly aggressive and confrontational--started yelling that I was too intoxicated and that all of us needed to leave. The situation quickly became chaotic and deeply uncomfortable with even the woman kicking me out calling my boyfriend's dad fat. What shocked me the most was how quickly I was accused, how little evidence there was to support it, and how unwilling the staff was to listen or investigate. This ISN'T an isolated case. Just days before, my boyfriend's friend was also removed from the casino for supposedly being drunk--despite being completely sober. It's clear to me now that this is a recurring issue. Whether it's poor staff training, abuse of authority, or some form of bias or profiling, it needs to be addressed ASAP What makes this worse is that we were spending significant money--over $200 per blackjack hand. Yet, we were treated with disrespect, suspicion, and extreme hostility. When I asked them to check their security footage to verify that I had only been served one drink, they dismissed me. No one offered a proper explanation, and no one took responsibility. I can't help but think like I was unfairly targeted--possibly because of how I look: a petite, 5'1" white woman. This experience was not just unfair, it was humiliating. I've never felt so disrespected as a paying customer. I regret not taking more action at the time, but I want to make it clear now: I will never return to that casino, and I will encourage others to avoid it as well. No customer, regardless of appearance or spending level, deserves to be treated the way we were. Casinos should be accountable for how their staff treats guests. We were in Phoenix for a couple of days and we thought we were trying a different hotel than where we usually stay. My wife chose the Talking Stick Resort. While driving to the resort, we took a turn too quickly and came into the back of the hotel. There is a massive outdoor parking lot behind the resort with parking garages on each side. The check-in service was friendly and quite fast! The directions they gave us to get to the elevators wasn't the best. We did like that they have a security guard at the entrance to the tower rooms checking ID's. Our room was nice and I loved that they had a steamer to use on our clothing. The casino is fine. It's not huge, but there is plenty of room between machines and they do have table games. We ate at the large bar next to the casino. The food was quite good. The bartender was quite friendly and we had very good service. There were other dining choices that looked good. We are going to try the Talking Stick again instead of our normal hotel we stay at in Scottsdale. read more

This review is for the casino only. A good friend and I went to the Stick on a Wednesday night. The casino wasn't too busy. I was playing blackjack and was able to get a seat fairly quickly. Table minimum was $15.00. Dealers were friendly and overall there was an ok vibe. Casino wasn't busy at all. We were able to get to the bar and Miller Lites were $7.00. Machines did seem tight. Overall. If I was back in the Scottsdale area I would certainly look at the Talking Stick area as a possible place to stay. Everyone seemed friendly and attentive. Finding out where the rideshare pickup was caused a bit of an adventure. read more

Diane and I enjoyed a great one-night stay here on our return from Tucson to North Las Vegas. We were assigned a very spacious accessible room with a king bed, many drawers, and a lovely desert view overlooking two swimming pools and a Jacuzzi. One pool is always open 24 hours a day, and this watery oasis was not wasted by us. I stepped into both pools late at night, and Diane and I enjoyed luxuriating for a time in the whirlpool spa nearby. Then we wiped off, re-dressed, and enjoyed an eclectic, mixed Asian/American dinner at the Blue Coyote Cafe before Diane left for the expansive Poker Room, the largest in Arizona, and I went down to a lower level to listen to live music by a band of three performers. This was the only discordant note for me of our stay. For, the musicians were noticeably playing out of tune, and singing was off key. In fact, this was the worst musical performance I have witnessed at a casino lounge. Nevertheless, a few couples on the dance floor gamely tried to keep up with the music. After a few songs I returned to our room to read for awhile, and then went to sleep waiting for Diane to return. Not for the first time, Diane never did arrive back at the room until late morning. Dedicated poker player that she is, she literally played at the tables all night long. She didn't win overall this time around, but has done quite well at some casino tournaments in Las Vegas and Reno in the recent past, and is a very good amateur player. But her play is no fun for me to watch. When not wearing a mask, she always displays a stern poker face, and is very difficult to read. We timely checked out of the hotel, and continued on our way to Nevada, vowing to return to Talking Stick to enjoy more of its amenities in the not too distant future. read more

My husband brought me to Talking Stick Resort for my birthday weekend, and unfortunately the experience was extremely uncomfortable from the moment we arrived. Right after checking in, a security officer approached me and said I had triggered a "weapons alarm." I was told I needed to come with her immediately for my belongings to be searched, and that if I refused, we would be asked to leave the property. This was humiliating, especially being escorted publicly to the security area. They used a wand and nothing went off. The only item in question was a decorative backdrop my husband brought to surprise me and decorate the room for my birthday. Once we showed it, we were dismissed without any real explanation. Later that same night at the Palo Verde Lounge, we noticed security standing nearby watching us closely while speaking into an earpiece, which made us feel uneasy and monitored for the remainder of the weekend. I shared this experience in a feedback email on January 5th, 2026, and received only a brief response from Kyung Yoon stating that the situation would be "shared with the team," along with a general apology. Unfortunately, no meaningful effort was made to address what happened or attempt to rectify how deeply this impacted our stay. I understand the need for safety measures, but the lack of discretion, communication, and follow-up completely overshadowed what was meant to be a special birthday celebration. Came in from out of town and we were there for 15 minutes and lost $120. We budgeted $200,of course we never expect to win. We didn't win over $0.30-$0.60 per machine we went to. We didn't want to put in another dime because we couldn't even play enough to have fun. We go to casinos all over frequently and at least get to play for over an hour sometime all night with $200. Plenty of free parking, great eating options and a large selection of tables/one armed bandits and entertainment facilities. The stage area for concerts or comedy shows could use better seating for viewing events, however I suspect it because it doubles as something else, making good use of space. First time at Talking Stick was for a pool party and it was tons of fun. Nice clean interior, easy access to the pool, quick check in process, and a massive pool area. We weren't able to get a cabana but did snag an umbrella pretty easily. Our server was super nice and kept up with a lot of customers and never fell behind on refills. They had a yummy shark themed blue coconut drink that was divine and very on theme for summer. The outdoor stage was also well set up. Plenty of room to get close to the stage while keeping a good walking patch between the stage crowd and the pool. Just wish there was a little more shaded areas (free or for rent) as the hotel buildings just reflect the sun and concentrate the heat at the pool ten-fold. read more
