A most exquisite and magical destination. If you're looking for pure relaxation and fabulous food…read morefrom morning to night , you're in good hands at Castle Hot Springs. I celebrated my 50th birthday three years ago and the place is incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating. The attentive staff makes this place very special. Istvan and Ian and Rafaela at Harvest were particularly delightful and the farm fresh food is just incredible! The Hot Springs are very soothing, relaxing and reinvigorating. Don't expect a TV in the room as they are absent. If you just wanna relax and catch up on your sleep or read a good book with no noise to be found, this is a place for you. The 7 mile dirt road to the resort is very scenic and you are likely to find burros along the way. Definitely need some kind of suv for that part. Or if you have no object to spending money, then take the helicopter from Scottsdale airport to whisk for a 20 minute ride to the resort.

The property is absolutely beautiful.... gorgeous to say the least. Superb customer service no doubt!!! Every employee on property was a delight to chat with, whether it's the cool farmer who's growing the vegetables, the housekeeping, service or upper management, everyone is extremely pleasant. My only "issues": - Hard to find the value at a price point of $100+ per hour for every hour you are there. - The food was slightly underwhelming. Not bad by any means but doesn't hit the mark commensurate with the price. (All the vegetables are amazingly tasty!!) - for a resort, it's a little too rigid in terms of having to plan each individual activity....i am i'll go with the flow semi spontaneous type of person so it didn't really fit my vibe but those who like to play in their day out this would be great for them -every "room/cabana" should have a bathtub that is large enough for two people. - too many à la carte activities at a very premium price. We didn't partake in those activities so I can't speak on those but the Farm tour was nice and complimentary thought the customer is still paying $100per hr to be there. The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is shortcomings in value for the price as well as almost every activity is à la carte and expensive. The staff at Castle Hot Springs is amazing, kudos to all those that are working hard; it's seen and appreciated.

Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch - Nothing less than a spectacular sunset at the ranch.

    Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch

Fun rustic getaway!…read more Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch offers a beautiful, nature-centric setting within easy reach of Phoenix. From the horseback riding to the kayaking and hiking, there are activities to fill numerous days. The launch site for those are all on the property, and there's a shuttle return for the kayaking, which keeps it simple and enjoyable. We also appreciated the close proximity of local recreation areas, for taking in views of the Salt River horses, and to Saguaro Lake (the Desert Belle wine cruise is great). The lodge itself is more of a four-star moment. It's understandable that the cabins are old (built for the construction of the Stewart Dam), but some general maintenance and a little TLC both inside and out would be helpful. For instance, a shower knob fell off in my hand, the curtain rods were crooked, a broken hook was on the door, the outdoor benches and chairs were dirty, and there were weeds and trash around the cabin perimeter. On the flip side, the staff is friendly, the main lodge offers homespun charm, the Bulldog rock formations are gorgeous, and the grounds in the main courtyard are an inviting place to indulge in the lodge's "easy living" motto. Beyond that, the food deserves its own special nod -- outstanding at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with rave reviews from all. That said, it would be nice to offer individual seating at dinner instead of the "single long table" ranch-style service. It can be awkward, or at least less relaxing, to sit across from strangers at each dinner each evening and make generic small talk. Overall, a wonderful getaway under starry skies!

We were on a combination anniversary and Morgan Wallen concert trip. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. As it was an anniversary trip, they were quick to acknowledge including an in room bottle of champagne, truffles and hand written note. We received our Bonvoy room upgrade to a beautiful suite with separate dining, living and bed rooms. Each well-appointed and current. The suite was a 1.5 bath that was a nice touch. Finally, a balcony had good seating area and views. Fair warning, they are building some free-standing casitas that will one day be part of the hotel. They look like residences and will be real nice when available. Anyway, some have complained about noise but we didn't notice. You just have to look past / over them for the real view. Didn't bother us. The free breakfast in the lobby is a must. Lots of options and everything we tried was great. The views from the patio are remarkable. The Canyon Suites also have their own private pool that is relaxing with great views, cabanas for rent and good food and beverage service. The cabanas were nice, accommodate up to six, have a mini fridge, tv and full bathroom with shower- fancy! My only complaint, which doesn't change my rating is there is a bar in the evening for just a few hours (til sunset?). No worries, head down the hill via walk (5 min), golf cart or car service to the main hotel for those activities. We will be back and wish we never left.

It felt cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The only letdown was the breakfast. The selection was limited, overpriced, and unfortunately everything tasted stale. However, I would still give the hotel 5 stars and would highly recommend and return when I visit the downtown Phoenix area again.

The staff is genuinely kind and helpful. My next door neighbor kept blasting his TV at night and I requested they intervene. I bugged them three to five times a night and they never made me feel like I was actually bothering them. They were happy to help. They also have housekeeping stuff at the front, dried lavender packs, and shower steamers in case you want a little something extra. The only drawback for me was how much noise there was outside on Camelback Road. I know they can't do anything about that, but it kept me up. So it's something to consider.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

The Four Seasons Scottsdale isn't just a hotel -- it's a desert mirage that actually exists…read more Built in the late 1990s, when developers decided golf courses and luxury spas could bloom where only rattlesnakes and saguaros once stood, this resort is proof that money waters everything. Think adobe chic meets spa catalog. Casitas sprawl across the Sonoran landscape like they were dropped from a helicopter and told to blend in. Inside, everything is cooled, cushioned, and curated -- a million miles away from the fact you're technically in the middle of nowhere. Step outside your casita and there's a saguaro cactus giving you the side-eye, wondering why you're paying $25 for avocado toast when it grows for free right next to you. The pool is basically an oasis, complete with cabanas that make you forget Scottsdale is basically Phoenix in a nicer shirt. The spa? You'll get massaged, exfoliated, and moisturized until you feel like a well-polished golf ball. And of course, Troon North golf course looms in the background -- a lush green playground carved out of desert that makes golfers weep with joy and water conservationists weep with rage. This is the Four Seasons -- you could walk in dressed like a hungover rodeo clown and they'd still treat you like visiting royalty (we were). Staff float around like desert ninjas, topping off your drinks, folding your towels, and politely ignoring your questionable SPF choices. The poolside margaritas are $22, but don't worry -- they come with a complimentary identity crisis. Four Seasons Scottsdale isn't hospitality, it's hostility against your bank account. (because let's face it, you're not here to save money, you're here to buy bragging rights). The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale is above average, over the top, and exactly what happens when luxury colonizes the desert and wins. Funny thing is, you'll leave broke but refreshed -- which is kind of the Four Seasons brand in a nutshell.
