Walking in, I was greeted by a woman named Laura who walked me through the paperwork, check in process, and first impression. She made my entire experience seamless from getting me dialed in with my insurance to setting up my next appointment. The inside of the office is very clean, decorated nicely and overall a great looking office! The dentist, Dr. Kishen Godhia, was very thorough, personable, and had a lot of knowledge. In the past, I've noticed that many dental offices rush through the entire experience, but here is not that. Can only give one star. Should be minus 10 stars. I believe I was ripped off by this dentist. I had ten veneers put in. All have been replaced in 3 years. Had a bridge put in. After 13 months had to be replaced . One tooth bridge cost me almost $10,000 dollars . Not to mention the quality of my crowns. It was unacceptable . One crown was half the size of my teeth , and the other was a huge round boulder with no ridges. In my opinion, I was ripped off. I have given him over $30,000 over two years. Should have paid 1/3. I have much gratitude for the amazing care I received from the highly gifted staff of dental hygienists, May, Phyllis, Mina and Dr. Salem. After reading the 1-star ratings I feel supported in my decision to leave Talega Dental and taking my girls with me. I've had many experiences of being up-sold, told that myself or my daughters needed unnecessary services (like deep cleaning when we didn't make it in "exactly" 6 months for our cleanings) and being told my insurance wouldn't cover the added services when indeed they would have. A few years ago I decided to tell them in advance we were only coming for cleanings and X-rays if necessary. Still the same salesperson, you know her name, would push for more services. We were clients for many years but have decided enough is enough. Moving to a great 5-star office happily. It's too bad because the dentists and hygienists all seem great. read more

This office is a scam. I went to Talega Dental Group for the first time to get a routine cleaning. After getting x-rays done and being told by the dentist that I have no cavities, he recommended I get a deeper, specialty cleaning treatment that would cost about $900. Because of the cost, I told him I would prefer to just get the standard cleaning for today and see about the other treatment after seeing if it was something that was necessary / something we could afford. But, the dentist REFUSED to clean my teeth. He said he would only do it if I opted for the more expensive treatment. He was clearly just trying to make more money off of me and now I can't get my teeth cleaned before I return to school after winter break. The dentist here clearly doesn't care about the health of his patients and is only looking to make more money. I recommend you go somewhere else. We certainly will. read more

I changed jobs and this dental group was in my network I had just came from a doctors visit next door and just stopped in to check it out and make a possible appointment . They took me in that day which was excellent trying to get all my doctor/dental done for 2019. Office ladies are great, the dental hygienist was fantastic and cleaned my teeth really good!!! The dentist was a nice guy told me my teeth looked good but need a little work because I'm a grinder. My next visit is in February and I'm liking coward to it! I would recommend this dental group to anyone and when someone asks me of a good dentist office I give them your information! See you in February! read more

TOTAL SCAM DO NOT GO HERE! Went in for a cleaning and they refused service and sent me away and billed my insurance

Draw your own conclusions from these facts: They told me that I needed a crown replaced and an inlay. They said my insurance would only cover half and that my portion would be around $5,000. They wanted a 50% deposit that day. I opted to get a second opinion. I had them send my x-rays and I forwarded them to another dentist. He said everything looked good, but needed to do an exam. After poking around my mounts for about 10 minutes, he said, my teeth were fine and no work needed to be done. Even though my suspicions were confirmed, I did not want to believe it so I saw a third dentist, who was a family member. He reviewed my x-rays and did an exam and said the same thing, no cavities and no crowns needed replacing. My teeth were fine. I hate to think that there are places so disreputable that they tell people that they need dental work that they don't need, but this might be happening at Talega Dental. Also there prices were three times higher than what the other dentists would have charged if I actually needed the work they said I did. read more

I hope this review helps other avoid the negative situation I experienced with Talega Dental. While I was in the dentist chair Victoria, a woman at the front desk (who does not refer to herself as an Office Manager, in fact she said they don't have an Office Manager), provided a breakdown of the services & charges for my visit. I felt the timing was inappropriate to provide a breakdown of the charges while I was in the chair with the bib on and all. I was shocked at the charges (it was just a 6 month cleaning) and I had no issues with any of my teeth. When I asked questions she was very rude & condescending and made me feel like I was being reprimanded for slightly expressing a concern. I decided to leave (because her demeanor & attitude were horrible & I just felt stressed out & overwhelmed. Overall, a standard visit turned into 60 minutes of my time from work, a $250 charge, no teeth cleaning or any services being performed and clean teeth due to my brushing skills prior to the visit. read more

As much as I HATE the dentist, I have to give Talega Dental 5 stars. Phyllis is my main reason I love coming here. She is the most personable, relatable person who has been there for a long time. She makes me feel comfortable and not afraid. I wish she was my Mommy. We are now instagram friends. She also made me a plate of Thanksgiving dinner once, which was the nicest thing anyone's done for me. They are my friends at Talega Dental. No matter how many times I try to leave them, I always come back. I always think that someone else is going to be cheaper, but they are not. Dr. M is very silly but a professional at what he does. I went here years ago, but I am still upset about what I let them do. I had receding gums. Instead of doing what a normal periodontist would do and do a gum graft, they decided to drill out three of my teeth and glue a cover on them. I can't believe I let them do that. Not only were they wrong in their treatment, the cheap covers fell off only a few months later and they wanted to charge me AGAIN to put them back on. I refused. My current periodontist verified that what they did was beyond stupid. Not only should this office be shut down for malpractice, but these people should be in jail. They have no idea what they're doing. Furthermore, the whole visit felt like a used car salesman experience. They were trying to sell me everything. Even the girl at the front counter gave me a look like "do you really want to buy all this stuff?". Any good reviews about this place are probably their friends or paid off people. If they are legit, these are brain dead people. Look at where they're from. Pasadena, Fountain Valley. Who drives sixty miles to go to the dentist??? I have never been taken advantage of more than Talega Dental..I have just received my first cavity at the age of 27 years old. i have alway taken care of my teeth and ever since i have gone to talega dental i have had be told that i need all this work done.. which is totally false. I had all the work done and yes of course they said that my insurance didnt take care of it so i called the insurance company after and the insurance company told me that they covered it ALL!!!!! Talega dental had to write me a check out of their own pocket, TWICE! thats what they get for trying to rip people off.... they also try to serve you fresh baked goods.. they are trying to make our teeth rot out of our heads. First off, the place looked nice and clean so I wasn't concerned, but right away the staff woman at the front desk was kinda rude. They took my x rays. The woman said I had beautiful teeth. The doctor came in an said the same thing. I have always loved going to the dentist because I do have nice teeth and I take excellent care of my teeth. The doctor left and told me someone would be coming in to talk about my benefits plan. Right away, I thought that was weird, becz I have never ever had a dr say that to me. Well, the lady who checked me in at the front came over and told me I needed a deep cleaning. That it would be $800 and told me what my insurance covered. I was shocked becz I have never needed a deep cleaning and surprised that it was the front desk lady telling me this and not the doctor. The woman could tell I was surprised and right away tried to bargain with me on the price and talk about payment plans! Again, I have never ever had a dentist talk about a payment plan. I said, I only want the regular cleaning, she replied "that's not what's recommended and if we do that and something goes wrong after, we could be liable becz that's not what is recommended"... Already talking about liability!!! Something in my gut told me something was not right. She tried to make me feel guilty for not wanting a deep cleaning. Lastly, the woman who took my X-rays came back and I asked her to please explain the reason for the deep cleaning... She tried to tell me I had periodontal disease! I opted out of the deep cleaning. I knew something was wrong and all of these reviews prove it to be true. They are just after insurance money and don't have your best interest at heart. Deep cleanings can do more harm than good. I got a second opinion and did my regular cleaning as per usual. Don't go here! They will try to tell u anything just to get more money! All of these reviews ring true! read more

I wish I read these reviews before picking this dental group. First off, let me say that I am an insurance broker/agent. I told Talega Dental this before I made my first appointment and even took the time to first visit their office on behalf of my clients before my first appointment ever came to fruition. The facilities are decent enough, but after my examination I was up-sold on services and products I didn't need and they went outside the realm of my insurance plan, (which I told them from the beginning was the reason I selected them). When I tried to discuss this with them the took offense instead of trying to rectify the situation. I highly discourage anyone from using this office and would look elsewhere for your dental services. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! Worst experience of my life. They completely screwed up my bite, my teeth and all they want is to take your $$. They told me a bunch load of crap about all the work I had to have done as soon as possible, but they never even cared about fixing my bite first, so they went straight to extract 2 of my bottom teeth, one on each side. Dr Steven did a good job and cared for me and my pain. Now, Dr. Amir is a complete and selfless douche bag. He has no idea how to numb someone, he tried 5 different times with no result, didn't even WAIT for my mouth to be numb and proceeded to install the bridge on one side, since Dr Steven was on vacation. THE PAIN WAS UNBEARABLE. He didn't care that i was hurting so much, I can't think of the right word for him, because I don't want to sound rude, but he is a complete asshole. Oh, by the way... 2 months after all they did, I find out the job wasn't done right and I have to have the bridge removed as soon as possible because its causing pain. NEVER AGAIN. Over $5000 wasted I DO NOT recommend ANYONE to go to this office. All they want is take your insurance money for a shitty job. Do your research and avoid going there! read more

Do your teeth a service and stay away from this dental office. I take my children in regularly every 6 months. I have 3 kids. This last visit they told me my daughter had a deep cavity on #30 that needed an onlay and possibly a root canal and that she needed 3 cavities filled totaling around $1500. I was floored by the dentist's recommendations since I just had my daughter's teeth checked 6 months ago and they said there was nothing wrong. My sister is a hygienist and so I called her and she gave me advice to run from the office and come see her office in Tustin. I was at my wits end with Talega Dental Group up-selling treatment and I always felt like they were scamming me and my family. I went to Dr. Toner's office in Tustin yesterday. He told me that my daughter has a few small cavities that will need fillings. He told me that #30 was completely fine and DOES NOT need an onlay! Dr. Toner offers an in office insurance plan that is only $125 for the entire year per person! The total treatment cost for my daughter is a few hundred. I will NEVER go back to Talega Dental Group. They are doing a disservice by recommending treatment that is NOT needed! If there are any other victims please go to the Dental Board of California and write a formal complaint. Great veneer - rotten underneath I set up a yelp account just to tell this story.... This is a beautiful, nicely appointed office located next to the Talega Master Planned community in San Clemente, California. As a general rule, I always try and support the local merchants. Such was the case with Talega Dental Group until this disturbing trend became apparent. I recently set up a routine appointment to have my teeth cleaned. After x-rays and the exam the "Closer" comes over and reviews the findings. In my case they informed me of the "Bad News" that I needed to replace two crowns. That was accurate. The issue came up because they would not provide me a basic teeth cleaning. Instead they insisted I needed the deep root cleaning, which was $175- and not part of the basic (And covered procedure). I asked to have the basic teeth cleaning as part of the normal preventative maintenance. They flat out refused - the person went as far as telling me it was not covered since I need the more expensive procedure. I've been to this office before and I've always felt they had a Hard Sell approach, which turned me off. This was too much. I'd had enough of this left without any treatment. Here's the catch. ... My neighbor remarkably has the EXACT same experience at Talega Dental Group. The same "Closer" gave him the hard sell - up-sell on the cleaning. This did not sit well for my friend either. Keep in mind neither one of us are hillbilly crack addicts whose teeth are a joke. He subsequently went back and gave them the feedback on their used car hard sell approach. As a result, Talega Dental lost two families' business becasue of thier unprofessional, and unethical approach. I'd avoid them at all costs. The good news: I (and my neighbor) have had just the opposite experience at a reputable dentist - Dr. Bradford Staph located in San Juan Capistrano. He and his professional staff actually cleaned my teeth without the sales pitch and up charge. Dr. Staph was informative, professional and didn't push anything - he consulted. As a result I was happy to spend the money for the recommended work. Bottom line: Dr. Staph's dental chairs don't have plasmas - What they do have is a great team who provide an excellent service. Fortunately Talega had left a few office hours open, and I was able to get in.
