CSL promotes itself as "saving lives," but in reality they ruin lives. Long wait times, overcrowded lines, and low compensation are the norm. Donors are treated like numbers, not people, and employees are pushed beyond reasonable limits. This company makes an enormous amount of money--potentially thousands of dollars per bottle--yet pays donors as little as $50. That is greedy and unfair. CSL profits massively off people who are struggling, while giving back the bare minimum. CSL Plasma is one of the most greedy companies I've ever dealt with. They need to change how they treat both donors and employees.

Went through the whole screening process and it took at least an hour and a half, I get into the back office to speak with one the people working there and was told that even though I have been seizure free for 9 years and am on medication for it I would not be allowed to donate. I was beyond pissed, why was I told I could donate just to spend an hour and a half to be told the opposite? They should ask the medical questions in the beginning of appointment to save time. The whole placed also reeked of b.o. the smell was seriously awful, also the security guy was a joke, he was on his phone the entire time -not sure what they are paying him for.

I've been a regular here for about a year and I don't have one bad thing to say about this place…read more Unlike the other plasma centers in the area, this one is generally never crowded, and I can usually stroll in and get into processing right away. The staff has always been friendly, a few of them even know me now due to my frequent visiting. Everything about this center is clean and professional. The other two closest plasma clinics in Aurora and Melrose Park are disgusting compared to this joint, I'd recommend it any day. Best point: They pay more than the other plasma clinics do.

I was told he needed to "sign a paper" . My Dr was sent 4 different sets of paperwork. Everytime he sent a form they needed another. He finally called and had me come in....I had to pay my copay of 30.00. and he asked me s few more questions and signed off. I made an appointment with BioLife to donate . 2 hours before my appointment they call and say my A1C is too high and I couldn't donate. I said I was just diagnosed prediabetic and was newly on medication on my original appointment. No one said anything about it. I asked their nurse specifically about that. If I had known that was an issue I would have it checked at the Drs appointment I just had. Poor communication and explanation of expectations.

As I stated in my previous review, I am a long time donor. I have donated platelets 106 times…read moresince May 2010. But Heartland has changed their donor rewards program for the second time in the last two years. And the new changes cut the rewards in half compared to last year. The cuts are so bad that for donating 20 times, spending nearly two hours each time, you only receive $125 compared to $300 last year. I emailed them to make sure I understood the new program and they confirmed the changes. Not much of a loyalty program if the company is not loyal to the people who provide them (virtually free) with the product that they sell to hospitals.

Blood draws are painless since staff is so competent. While I don't DONATE every two weeks due to low platelet count, I make it a point to show up every 8 weeks or so to do something good for people that need help
