Okay, I applaud this place for being thorough. After a 2.5 hour interview, questions and nurse visit, since I am over 65 I need permission from my doctor. I was told he needed to "sign a paper" . My Dr was sent 4 different sets of paperwork. Everytime he sent a form they needed another. He finally called and had me come in....I had to pay my copay of 30.00. and he asked me s few more questions and signed off. I made an appointment with BioLife to donate . 2 hours before my appointment they call and say my A1C is too high and I couldn't donate. I said I was just diagnosed prediabetic and was newly on medication on my original appointment. No one said anything about it. I asked their nurse specifically about that. If I had known that was an issue I would have it checked at the Drs appointment I just had. Poor communication and explanation of expectations. read more

Just be consistent with rules. The center has a 10 minute before/after grace period for each scheduled time. Another person and I both had 0610 appointment. We both attempted to sign in at exactly 620. The computer denied both of us. I was forced to reschedule the other person was allowed to log in by the person up front. Bio life requires you to make an appointment. The donation should take about an hour. The appointment doesn't mean anything. They allow as many people to donate at the time of your appointment. I waited in line behind 25 people to donate plasma. Disrespectful to the people donating. They know people are here because they need money. Never-mind people have families and other responsibilities. About 3 hours to donate. Poorly managed operation. read more

Biolife takes plasma donations. Your initial visit could take up to 90 minutes for them to test and process you. If you decide to donate, it could take another 90 minutes or more. Never have a bad time donating. Eat before you donate and drink plenty of water beforehand and everything goes smoothly.

I am not a blood person but I can say I'll be going back. It was very easy and all the employees were very hospitable. I have donated blood before but was very nervous. The employees made the experience 10x better than I could've thought. After this experience, I can say I'd love to go back and even donate blood again. read more

I had a coupon for $50 for my first and second donations and $75 on my third. I tried to come in and donate more than a few times during that same month. Today I was finally able to donate and I only received $20 instead of my agreed-upon third donation price of $75! When I called they told me that there is nothing they can do and I can't seem to find a corporate number to call. This company SUCKS. APPARENTLY there is a 30 day limit on coupons, which is bullshit. read more

I can't lie it definitely was time consuming but worth it. If you know a friend who donates get their card or have their name. You'll get $50 for your first few donations. It was my first time and I was really nervous. They all were so kind to make me comfortable. Finally when I was done I sat and waited and I actually passed out lol. Word of advice. eat RIGHT BEFORE you go. Not a big meal but something. You will pass out otherwise. They were so kind and got me up and weren't mean about it at all. Feeling pretty great, just a little sleepy. Also if you hate being cold bring a jacket to drape over yourself. You don't wanna cover your one arm but a little something will help. Make sure you schedule your appointment online and hope for the best. I wanted to donate but they said they could only find veins in one of my arms and they had to be avaliable in both. They were late getting to me in the first place (at least 20 minutes late) and it had taken me 10 minutes to find parking as they were busy and no spaces were open. I thought I would have to park at Walmart and walk. They were not very freindly, either. I was bummed out that I wasted my time and did not even get to donate and make money! read more

This place has gone seriously downhill over the past month. You have to stand in line for half an hour before even getting a bed. This is due to the fact that they don't schedule enough employees. And what's the point of being able to schedule an appointment if they're just going to accept everyone? Last time was my last visit after the guy had everything all set up on my bed to stick me with the needle, then someone needed to be disconnected to he did that first. Not that big a deal, but when he started unhooking someone else after that I decided to get up and leave. I had already been there nearly 45 mins and hadnt even got stiuck by the needle yet. I went in for my 1st donation a few days ago and although the whole process took longer than I wanted it to it moved along pretty quickly without a lot of wait time between steps in the start up process. I loved the fact that all of the questionaires were digital and the employees asked the questions and I did not have to sit for 3 hours filling out paperwork. From start to finish the process took 2 1/2 hours. I received $50 for the first donation and if you follow their first month bi weekly donation schedule I expect to make almost $400. The people who draw blood and monitor the process were friendly and I barely felt the needle go into my arm. I will definitely go back not just for the money but for the people who need these donations to live. To help people and make extra cash is a win-win. Tip for those who are thinking about donation. Drink 8 to 10 bottles of water the day before along with low fat high protein meals. Drink at least 4 bottles of water (depending on your appointment time) the day of and have a good meal. It will cut your donation time down and you won't feel woozy when your done. read more

Might be worthwhile to note that they are sticklers about ID. I took them a social security card, drivers license, and birth certificate and they refused me because there was no middle initial on my social security card. The only way I can give plasma would be to get a new social security card or new drivers license. In my case, this just isn't worth the trouble. I wasn't going there for the money, just to help out. I'll stick with giving whole blood and platelets. read more

Sign up. Get a physical. Donate. Seems simple enough but there is almost always red tape or lack of communication. Whether you donate for the money or to help people in need, this business is not about people. Not to say they shouldn't abide by guidelines, but more effort should be made towards smooth transactions and accepting donations (which can be painful at times) as opposed to ID cards, documents and records.
