M wife and I began donating at Talecris again during quarantine. Besides being a great way to help save lives, it helped us make ends meet while my businesses were shut down. The first couple of visits take a bit longer for the medical exam, but now can get in and out within an hour. The staff are all friendly and excellent at their jobs. During this time of Covid, they take lots of extra precautions to make sure you feel safe and comfortable. If you want to save a couple lives and make a few bucks, then I highly recommend giving them a visit! read more

Moving from the Midwest to Oregon, I wanted to get set back up with a plasma donation center so I could get money while waiting for a job to respond to me. While some of the people I've interacted with have been a amazing, very social and polite, I have found that the level of nitpicking from medical staff has cost me a lot of money, time, and headaches. I wasn't able to complete the new donor surge because of a fungal pattern on my skin, which was aggravating since a previous center was able to take my blood just fine. But whatever. Now, though, I have been turned away for a mostly-healed pimple that looks like nothing more than a single dot on my arm to the left of my insertion hole. They offer a large amount to get new donors. However when you look at the fine print you do not receive anything unless you donate at least twice. This place is completely unprofessional. A reputable clinic honors your appointment time. As a new donor be prepared to wait up to TWO HOURS PAST YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME for the process to even get started. The staff was extremely rude. They make you read a huge list of disqualifying medications that tell why they would be negative for the person getting the plasma. However they have a even bigger list of things they do not tell you. When you finally get into the room for the "physical" they find some excuse to deny you based on your medications and refuse to tell you why that perfectly normal common medication is on their list. Based on my interactions with them, I would like to see their medical qualifications, because they clearly are not professional. They weigh you ahead of time to see how much blood they can safely take from you. The scale was over by 15 pounds. They were going to take more blood from me than was is safe. Given how unprofessional the staff in the front was, I am glad I did not allow them to draw my blood, the staff in the back could be worse, looking at some of these other reviews. If I could give them ZERO STARS I would. I understand the need for a Plasma Donation Center, but this place should not be allowed to operate, it sounds outright dangerous based on other reviews. They should be replaced by a reputable professional Plasma Donation Center. read more

I submitted this review a couple of weeks or so ago, but it never posted. Here it is a second time. Frustrated & do not understand why this happened. I am a returning donor for the second time with years in between each time. The first time I returned they signed me in as a brand new donor cuz it had been over a year, and I received all the perks a new donor receives. This time it's been about 6 years since I donated. When I called in to check the process to return, I was told I would again be considered a brand new donor and that I would receive new donor pay which was supposed to be $100 per donation for the first four (this was I think December). I was told this on phone, AND in person the day of my screening by the medical person and the gentleman at the counter. I never got the $100, but instead it was $75. When I went back in to find out why I only got the $75, the gentlemen at desk said it was because I'm not considered a new donor and would receive $75 for first 4 instead. And that regardless of how many people told me it was $100, there was no way to fix it. Then the next time I donated I received only $35! The same fella said he'd fix it and he did. He had them add $30 more. The other day I was there and only received $35 again! I didn't check my Card until later because both my arms infiltrated and I just wanted to go home. It's unbelievable and my advice is don't trust what they say they will pay. Period. I have not been back because of the bruising from infiltration had to heal, but I am not sure I will. Felt like I was ripped off. If your staff cannot get the info right, there is a PROBLEM. End of rant read more

This place is unprofessional, the phlebotomists are not good at their job which is NOT a job you can afford to be crappy at, and blew my vein (possibly even artery) which blew up my arm like a golf ball size. After almost throwing up and passing out took little to no accountability besides taking my blood pressure and a Gatorade and practically shoo-ing me out. Barley any aftercare instructions and shocked at how horrible my arm is and painful it is. I hope no one ever goes here, take it from me and please prioritize your health and safety, this place is a nightmare. read more

After several years, I have had to stop donating. It is a natural progression since both arms are nearly impossible to get a less painful stick. During this Covid period, count on less people donating but the offset is less staff to handle those donating. read more

I have been coming here on and off for about 6 months. I started coming here when I moved to a new State and until I could get in to my new job.. Its a great way to get a little extra cash but not much after you finish the "New Donor" period ... BUT!!! The wait through the process is RIDICULOUS!!!! My visits have never been short of 3 hours and its not because the donation its self was slow. Some people's donation is a slow process and that can't be controlled by the facility. However! I am at the facility as I writing this review and just today I have been here 1 hr 15 mins and have not been called to do the first step..... On average its about 45-60 mins before your called to the computer, another 20-30 mins to the scanning room, then another 30-45 mins for someone to hook you up and get it started. Then theres your actual donation time. Then when its all done you will wait another 15 mins to get someone to come and unhook you and complete your donation. And if you show up early! Your not doing yourself any favors! You wait even longer!! They have alot of people training all the time. I'm nervous when it comes to someone poking at my vains but so far I have had decent experiences on that. read more

I have two years of donating plasma and I have never seen a place as disorganized and unprofessional as Talecris. Do not go there you will be there so long and end up disappointed. The staff has no sense of urgency and many of them are very overweight and slow on their feet. Especially this one overweight women with braids in particular. I nearly vomited just in the same vicinity as her. It distinctly smelled like a cross between weed, greasy food and body odor so bad. All the other workers were too busy worried about how well their hair looks walking around looking lost talking. That heifer did my plasma donation and pushed the needle in so hard into my arm multiple times. I swear to God Almighty that she was under the influence of some kind of mind altering substance. My arm is injured so bad the Dr said I had an infection and prescribed me antibiotics. All I can say is if I could give this place zero stars I would. Don't go to this place people the workers are uneducated and have no idea how to what they are supposed to be doing. read more

The place seem sketchy to me, I had a hard time finding the place. When my family came in with me they told me very rudely that they couldn't join me. My daughter was visibility upset cause she wanted to be with me. I wanted forever to get the paper work done. Then they came to check my veins to just tell me I can't donate. The way they said it to me (my veins are small and hard to find sometimes ) made it seem like they were calling me a drug using junkie (your veins are no good you can't donate) don't recommend they are not professional in any way read more

And through out the entire process they belittled us. Made us feel stupid. And talked about us rudely right in front of us. Although it's not posted or mentioned anywhere: If you are 65 or over, they won't take you, no matter how many times you've donated blood, no matter what your health status is, no matter whether you can pass their physical exam. Would have saved me lots of time if they made this info public. TPR told me it was an FDA rule. I found no federal or state reg defining upper age limits for donation. Lane Blood Works, Red Cross have no such restriction. When challenged, TPR told me that 65 is just an arbitrary number chosen by their Board for this location, and that number varies from center to center. There is no other entity in this area that compensates donors for plasma, so Eugene Seniors, you're out of luck. Age is a protected class. If TPR receives any federal funding, it might want to reconsider its policy. read more

Very unprofessional, not properly trained, lazy and slow staff making mistake after mistake. They stuck me in a major artery then pushed me with deferral !!! I can see why they have such a quick turnaround. Seems like a shit place to work This company exploits the poor and treats their donors like cattle. I've donated over 500 times here. I've always been treated with respect (mostly) and I've always been honest with the medical staff here. Recently I hurt my foot and went to the emergency room to see if it was broken. Emergency rooms did an x-ray and it was not broken. They told me I might want to see an orthopedic doctor but after a week there was no bruising, no swelling, and I was back to running/hiking on my favorite trail. However Talecris Plasma says I cannot come back without a doctor's note. I told the medical staff that I am not planning to go to the doctor for this particular issue because I do not need to. He said I would not be able to donate again. I cannot believe I was treated so horribly by a place where I have been dedicating my time to for over 7 years. I would not recommend going here. Some of the staff can be really rude but for the most part most are nice. Also, they don't tell you when you sign up exactly how bad for you it is to donate plasma. In addition, there is a manager who is horrible and treats everyone in a condecending manner. She is the one who wrote my report after I hurt my foot and obviously wrote it in a way that would make it difficult for me to return. I've only donated once so far, and will be going back very soon! The employees were very kind and sociable, and when I had a slight reaction (pretty common for a first time donation) they were quick to respond and make me feel comfortable again. They answered all my questions and kept up friendly chatter with me the whole way. And at the end of it all, they explained how the payment process (a prepaid debit card type) worked. I'll be honest I was a little bummed that the card is subject to withdrawal charges at ATMs, but it was still a really good and comfortable donation process! The location may scare certain people off considering it's off of Chambers and W 8th but I just donated my first time today and the entire process only took me 3&1/2 hours. The staff was very prompt with getting my screening process started on time and making me feel welcome. The lobby is small but they have movies going on while you wait and the facility is clean. Kamilo, one of the paramedics who works at the front desk and who also did my medical examination, is a blast. The check-in process is also easy and fast. Make sure you set up your appointment beforehand! The donor floor is a bit cold but quiet enough to hear the movies playing overhead. And during the last final step of donating you are a little colder because the solution they use is room temperature not body temperature. But this is easily remedied with a blanket or cover yourself with your jacket/sweater. The pay is great and really easy for just sitting there while they stick you and filter your blood. They have promotions every month as well. You get a prepaid debit card that you can access online and also can withdraw cash directly after your donation. Overall, would definitely recommend. read more

OH MY GOD, this is seriously the most inefficiently run place ever. Most of the time, the workers are just dicking around, and not doing anything when they could be checking people in. Half the time, they're just trying to make it look like they're doing something useful (when they're not). If these people ran a restaurant, it'd go out of business in a week. This place used to be better. Still slow, but tolerable... It would usually take half an hour to get your fingers scanned, another half hour to finish being screened, and then 5-10 minutes to get sticked... Then with it taking about an hour to finish "donating", it would usually take between 2-3 hours to be done depending on how busy they were. Today, I waited ALMOST 2 HOURS, and I hadn't even get my fingers scanned read more

I donated up in Portland for over 5 years but when I came down to establish myself in the Eugene location, I was permanently deferred for having a brain injury 15 years ago as a child. They "apparently can't take that risk" that I won't fall and reinjure myself.... despite having NO HISTORY of having problems with that since that injury. The location up in Portland knew all about it and let me donate hundreds of times and not once having a problem. Top 10 Most Stressful Jobs!!! Tack this one on the list. This donation station is VERY BUSY!! They're a place that deals in bodily fluids so, . . .Yes, the rules and standards are going to be high. You will have to be able to follow simple instructions. You will have to follow the rules. Yes, it it going to take time. Yes, you will have to be patient. :D For me, . . It's VERY dope to be able to have the opportunity to bring in an extra $240+ a month as a stay at home Mom. I haven't been donating long but, it TRULY is the staff that makes the donation :D They do their very best to make it a "pleasurable" experience. They try to make it painless, unless you suck ;) Remember to bring a light blanket or jacket & a book. They do have movies playing for your entertainment. Absolute waste of time. Most inefficiently operated "business" ever. I called before I decided to visit because I'm a full-time grad student at the U.O. who takes medication for ADHD, prescribed by the university doctor. I anticipated a possible dilemma, and asked the rep on the phone if I would need any documentation from my physician. "Nope, we have our own Doctors on staff who will asses you." I headed down, waited for THREE HOURS before I was called into a Dr's office who told me that the medications I DISCLOSED on my own volition, were frequently abused by drug addicts, so I would need my patient records forwarded to Talcris' office. BULL SHIT. I'm not going to hand-over my patient file to these incompetent staff members. Wow. When I mentioned that I could bring in my PRESCRIPTION bottles showing that I am prescribed my meds... NOPE. I need to sign a disclosure to have my records accessed by Talcris. Fuck that. Don't believe the commercials they air over and over... nobody is smiling, it stinks, and there are rat traps in the waiting room. Breeding ground for bedbugs and transmittable infectious disease. Talecris Plasma Resources is terrible! I lost my job a few months ago and I decided to donate after seeing their ads. I was turned away the first day I tried to donate because there was a crease in the middle over one of the numbers. I got a replacement card and made an appointment,but when I signed in, I had to sit there for a couple of hours before they even called my name. After they finally did a finger stick, checked my weight, temp, and blood pressure, I was sent back to the lobby to wait for some one to do my phisical. I ended up sitting there for a couple more hours before they finally called me in, and by this time I was the only one left in the lobby. He asked me a bunch of questions before checking my blood pressure again, and I was told that it had gone up in the 21/2 hours since they checked it and now it was now slightly too high to donate, and they sent me home. I came back another day and had much the same experience except I somehow managed to keep my blood pressure down enough to donate. When you are a return doner, the only way to get an appointment without waiting a week is if someone cancels, so I usually ended up signing in on the walk-in list, which left me sitting in the lobby for hours EVERY TIME. When my mom started donating, she also would sign in as a walk in, and on her 4th donation, after sitting in the lobby for a couple of hours, she saw her name on a file that one of the CNAs kept moving to the bottom of the stack of files. My mom was shocked and angry! Not long after that the CNA told her that she didn't own the walk-in list, and she would likely be differed for abusing the walk-in list. Nobody had mentioned to EITHER of us that they didn't want people to use the walk-in list too much, despite the fact that I had been comming there a lot longer than my mother had. There are a few nice people there, but the majority of the people that work there are rude, inconsiderate, and slow moving. The last straw came today, after my mom and I were both deemed fit to donate and sent to the doner room. They had finally hooked me up to the machines, when my mom came to me in tears. She told me that they had called her out of the doner room, and accused her of doing drugs because one of the CNAs said that she was "acting weird." My mother does NOT do drugs, but she does have ANXIETY DISORDERS, MANIC DEPRESSION, and PTSD, which she tearfully explained to him and offered to take a drug test. He told her to bring a note from a psychologist next time she came in. She told him that after being treated like that, she wasn't coming back. I am not coming back ethier, and I urge you not to donate here until they change the way they run things. read more

Horrible. Was completely honest about socially smoking weed but it had been several months since I consumed...... the nurse then put me in a 4 month hold without telling me.... I have shown up twice now at 7am after waking up at 5am.... to find out she had done this previously. THANKS FOR WASTING MY MONEY AND TIME AND FOR LETTING ME RETURN A SECOND TIME TO FIND OUT WHAT YOU SHOULDVE TOLD ME MY FIRST TIME.
