I like the place.Wish the bargains were more. It seem safe and there are plenty of places to shop. The food court could use some food places

Lane Bryant Outlet

Lane Bryant Outlet

This is unfortunately the closest Lane Bryant to where I live currently. Don't be fooled by the…read moreword 'Outlet', this is NOT really an outlet store (not in the traditional sense). It's a Lane Bryant located in an Outlet mall. They may not have the NEWEST releases but it's not really old stuff either, and the so called sales are the same sales you get at a regular store. Might as well go the the regular store and get the same sale on the newest stuff. I'll travel a little further from now on and go to the location at Carolina Place, where they actually carry my size. I went in yesterday looking to get some bras and underwear. They didn't have anything in my size that I needed. It was rather frustrating actually. The sales ladies (which there were like 5 in the store and I found that overwhelming) were fairly nice and tried to be helpful to a certain degree. I was the only customer in the store and they each came up to me at least 2 times asking to help me. I know it's what they are supposed to do, but when there are like 5 of them that's a bit oppressive. However I was so frustrated that I'm afraid I wasn't as nice as I could have been. I was looking for Hipsters (underwear) and the only sizes they had were 14/16 and 18/20. They kept talking about how the underwear table needed to be fixed (it was a hot mess), but instead of one of them just doing it they told some girl in the back she could do it when she came in next, a few days from then. The store was empty except for me and there are 5 people working, two of them could have knocked it out in like 15 minutes!! Regardless I dug through and found 4 in my size, but not 5 in order to get the 5 for $29 so I left them (they weren't cute but generic and not worth it). I moved on to bras They had 1 bra in the buy 2 get 2 section in my size and preferred style, so I went to the regular bra wall. They literally had ZERO in my size and preferred style. Needless to say at this point when one of the girls asked me if they could help me I got a bit snippy and commented on how they didn't seem to have a whole lot going on in the store. I think I offended her a bit, and to be fair she did well to contain her snark. She's why they get 2 stars instead of 1. I'm pretty sure had I been her I would have snapped back at me lol. I ended up buying a few things from the athletic section, however when I go to the Carolina Place store this afternoon I'm going to return the two shirts... I felt bad for being irritable with them so I bought them when I should have just left with nothing. When I tried them on at home I didn't like them. So I'm sorry for being irritable with the staff, however it doesn't change the fact that this store doesn't have product. If I wanted to go to a huge store full of clothing I can't buy I'd go to Abercrombie.

Torrid is a hard one to review for me... I get a lot of my clothes from this store, but mostly…read moreonline. The local stores tend to only carry 1/3 of what the website carries and they NEVER carry my pant size in store. I'm bottom heavy (TMI I know!!). If you order online do not, let me repeat DO NOT have it shipped to the store for free. Pay the crazy shipping costs or take advantage when they have their free shipping (going on now if you spend over $50). If you ship to the store it will take at least a month to arrive. That's like the minimum!! FOUR WEEKS!!! Sorry I know tons of emphasis but I was so upset by this. I didn't read the fine print when I did this, which is a mistake I'll never make again since it took two months for my order to arrive. Anyways I came in to make a return yesterday, and I came in straight from my rather bad experience at Lane Bryant. There were two ladies working but only one was in the store when I first came in. She was very nice, didn't hover, asked if she could help and then said to browse around and to come get her if I needed anything... then she left me alone to shop. My mood lifted immediately!! She was a girl close to my size and had helpful information on some shirts I was looking at. Overall I just tend to have a better experience at Torrid. My mom doesn't like shopping here because she says she can never find things age appropriate. However every time she sees me she loves my shirt and wants one. I'm forever telling her oh I got that at Torrid haha. They really heavily advertise they edgy Hot Topic like items (duh they are owned by Hot Topic), but that only makes up about half of their inventory! So don't be discouraged, really give them a shot!! The only thing about Torrid's in CLT is they are all rather small and cramped and I wish so very much that they were big enough to carry more of their line so I didn't have to online shop Torrid so much. I also wish this Torrid had more of their Intimates. Yesterday there was hardly anything and zero pajamas. I didn't end up getting anything and just returned my items, but I'm always scanning the website looking for stuff. Best thing about Torrid for me is that I can look at an item and generally know whether or not it will fit. They are pretty consistent in their sizing and cut. This is something that Old Navy seriously lacks and Lane Bryant is a crap shoot when it comes to style. Guess this plus size girl will continue online shopping to the best of her ability for now. However great job Torrid for offering a younger perspective to Lane Bryant, I'm at that awkward stage of "oh I can't wear that I'm too old," and "oh I can't wear that I'm too young." Sigh the struggle is real ladies!! Also great job for having staff that can gauge their customers and know how to handle them and who actually know their products because they wear them!!

I forgot to take a picture, but I did want to just note the incredible experience I had today…read moreshopping at this Torrid. Yasmin and Maya were absolutely amazing helping me to pick out an outfit that I normally would not have picked out. I just wanted to get the shirt, but there was a matching pair of pants. Normally I would not have purchased the pants but they were like oh I wanna see how the pants look and do you mind modeling the pants and then they brought me accessories and we just had an amazing time. I ended up purchasing this cute little set that I can't wait to wear to an upcoming brunch with a stacked necklace and bangles to go with it along with 2 really cute shirts! I had Torrid cash so I also saved a lot of money in the process!! Win! Win!!

I follow this business owner on YouTube and I didn't know she have an online shopping store.. so I…read moreresearched the store online .. very pricey.. like the prices is like going to Torrid or Lane Bryant.. but most of the clothes she sells are really nice.. compared to Lane Bryant or Torrid.. I rather Fashion Nova.. because I'm plus size but like a Jr. Plus size ... I'm interested in buying her leggings for fupa control. I can get more clothes from FN, PRETTY LITTLE THINGS , Boohoo, Forever 21.. and get plus size clotheSSS for 100.00 because of the sales they constantly have.. but I also do know that full figure can't wear plus size clothing that only go up 3x or maybe 4x .. so they have to spend a nice bit.. so I can understand why the clothes are pricey.. plus size prom dresses.. if they start at 400.00 it's because of the fabric.. , the stretch, the expensive stones and gems and that's a lot of work in making those prom dresses or evening gowns.. to fit plus size teens and women comfortably. We're still living in a world where plus size women are not welcomed to shop at certain shops ON PURPOSE.. Now maybe her YouTube videos shows a great experience and honestly I don't see anybody else doing what's she doing especially when I was a teen.. there was no store for plus size teens in the 90's.. not even the 2000's.. all I wore was t shirts jeans and tennis shoes.. I never wore a dress .. I bought my stuff from Wal-Mart.. and like Little businesses that closed down that had a small plus size section. ‍‍‍.. now for the ladies who were threatened.. what did you say to the business owner .. there's two sides to every story most times.. now if threatened unprovoked.. then no its not cool.. especially if you are being an honest customer and you didn't have a great experience.. not cool.. there is room for growth.. I will say this .. as a black woman.. yes black people need to support our black business owners in everything.. in every spectrum.. no doubt.. the problem with that is.. I believe that black people try to do what other races try to do as far as entrepreneurship but in a black way. Big no no Okay update: and this is just based on the comments about the store and the online store ... I believe people who get into any kind of business.. really need to focus on thing at a time.. because if ordering at the shop online . Gets customers long waiting shipping and no refunds.. and becoming very unprofessional to new customers...then online should be a future thing if it can't be handled professionally.. because seeing this now I don't want to order at all.. but this is what I said before earlier... you as a black person cannot run a business in a black way.. what do I mean by that? Okay... I think that my own black people.. can get very unprofessional really quickly and that's not the way to handled things.. other races as well I'm focusing on my own people as far as becoming very successful in your business.. I believe that people who tend to get into their own business focus on MONEY entirely to much.. they want to venture and do an online store , plus their boutique, plus IG and YouTube and etc etc... which is fine.. that's no problem.. it brings in more money .. definitely that's the half part of being a business owner.. but in order to become successful.. everything from the shop to the online store overall have to be successful.. a good bit of comments and even towards a new customer just asking for an update on a order that was PAID FOR.. about you're backed up and orders canceled and no refunds be you might be upset. That's not professional.. I believe when money and business is involved you have to meet those expertise.. for each individual.. hire more people to run your online store .. that should make things more easy running.. find out a way to work on how to get those shipping items to run smoothly.. if you're expanding your business.. but business owners are not gonna do that.. because you have to pay the people and in order for things to run smoother tou have to come more out your pocket.... but that's not gonna happen because Ms. Summer.. you want all the money to come to you.. .. and if that continues in your online business .. that's not good.. now I know around the holidays FN and other online stores are no better. .. thing goes missing , shipping takes forever.. refunds happen.. but if you're not giving refunds.. that's stealing sis.. .. and that's why our own black businesses are not being supportive.. by people and our own people.. all I'm saying is.. once you grow , make changes, spend money to get money.. don't think about the mone money money.. think about how you can grow your business run it smoothly hire people to run your online store business.. or if you have that already.. find out what's going on with ladies not getting their items.. and no refunds is not being refunded.. you have to be equal opportunity customer service to every customer.. but hey.. ‍‍‍‍‍
