    Tempura Asparagus
    Alexis H.

Sat out on the patio for an early dinner. It was quite nice! Our server was friendly and got us waters immediately and was knowledgeable on questions we had. Highly recommend the pot stickers, we could've just had that for dinner, it came with 6 pieces. The spicy tuna roll and the pick 2 tacos were both tasty and perfect portion. We wanted to try the tempura asparagus since we were still a liiitle hungry but it was not worth it, we didn't even eat 1 whole piece. I'm not sure if it was the batter, the oil it's fried in or the asparagus itself. But it was not tasty at all.

Staple sushi place for me in the area, haven't been disappointed yet in all these years. The service is typically very good, even when you come in a little late like we did. Always order too much food and take it home.

This is my second time here and still very much impressed by the variety of food options, both on the sushi and Mexican sides. I was craving sushi so I opted for the green chili queso dip to have the best of both worlds. The queso was delicious and full of meat to keep a good consistency. The sushi was excellent as well, I tried something new with the dynamite roll and man is it good but the spicy garlic has a good kick to it. Besides the food being great, the only downside was that they placed us at the table directly next to the register so I had people constantly in my space over my shoulder. The place barely had anyone in it so I don't know why we were sat there, it was kind of a constant distraction unfortunately. The staff was very friendly and helpful though, but felt as if they were rushing us throughout the whole meal. Still a great lunch spot to hit different food types all in one spot. Not too many good sit down restaurants in this part of town so it's an easy choice if you're not in a rush.

    FORGETTABLE ROLL & HANNAH ROLL

Definitely was impressed by this place for the second time. TakoSushi definitely was a place we stumbled upon that filled our stomachs with both cuisine. I have never heard of Mexican and Japanese collaborating together in a cuisine. It definitely worked for sure (in my opinion). I had the UNFORGETTABLE ROLL * Shrimp Tempura & Cream Cheese Topped with Spicy Tuna, Jalapeños & Apple Mayo Sauce & HANNAH ROLL* Spicy Tuna, Avocado, Cream Cheese, & Jalapeno, topped with Sriracha & Wasabi Vinaigrette. The waitress suggested that these two were her favorite and I took her advice. She said that the Hannah was her absolute favorite but I definitely LOVED the UNFORGETTABLE ROLL. It really was the best roll I've had at this establishment (in my opinion). The apple Mayo sauce was really amazing with it. As if those two rolls wasn't enough, I ended up getting 2 Takos with flour tortilla with chicken & chorizo with the works (beans, lettuce, and salsa). Paired all that with a Lucky Budaha beer that was very refreshing with the meal. Ambience was great as the waitress really interacted with us as she was just being really friendly. Wish I knew he name but I sure appreciate her service to us as we told her that this meal was a celebration of me and my buddies Army retirement coming up in the near future. If you looking for a Mexican & Japanese cuisine to eat at, I promise you will get your fill in one of the cuisine or both as I did

Tempura Aspargus & Potstickers Lemon Drop

Love this little place. It's my solo dinner go-to! My favorites are the fried asparagus and the potstickers. Perfect with a lemon drop...and they make the best ones! Never a bad time here. Service is fast and friendly.

I had been craving a burger and I've been eyeing this particular one for years!! I'm not a burger order person when I go out to eat but I wanted to make a change with this one. Let me just say I will definitely order this one over and over again!! I may eat this burger again before I order sushi . It was busy and Mindy was great as usual. Pretty quiet afternoon and I will definitely return.

Showed up on a Friday night around an hour before happy hour ended. We asked to be seated outside, which they kindly accommodated. Our server greeted us promptly and was very nice. We were able to get a round of happy hour drinks in as well as a couple happy hour appetizers. To drink, I went straight to the regular menu for their spicy margarita, which was delicious! My fiancé had their happy hour margarita which was very good too. They usually keep one cocktail on happy hour that is a special so it changes night to night. You'll have to inquire about this one! For happy hour appetizers, we got the pork dumplings and the edamame which were very good, they were just very small portions. We also ordered the tuna tataki off the regular appetizer menu. For dinner, I ordered the Hannah roll without cream cheese (I'm dairy intolerant) and it was good but very spicy! I love spicy but it may have been a bit much for me considering my drink was also spicy. I didn't realize they had already put wasabi in the roll and I was adding extra to it until I was four pieces in LOL. Overall, the food and service were good. I would say that the patio aesthetic could be better as there was no music playing and leaves all over the ground and a bunch of empty propane tanks. Next time, I would try sitting inside. Pro tip: you'll want to get there early in the evening like we did. Otherwise you may face a 3 hour wait like the people we passed on our way out.

The atmosphere looks nice, if a tad plain. But some of the tables had to be scooted out to get into the seat and they were heavy on a granite floor so loud screeching accompanied the otherwise silent room. Fast food style service and the annoying receipt signing which fast food shouldn't have was present. Also, the toilet wouldn't flush. All over, I'm not sure it really earned the star I gave it.

The food still felt authentic and full of true Hawaiian flavor. Coming from a family with roots in the Big Island and Maui, I can appreciate when a place captures that genuine island-style taste and atmosphere. One thing that really stood out was how they start you off with fresh in-house made pork rinds, similar to how Mexican restaurants serve chips and salsa when you sit down. It was a unique and welcoming touch. We ordered the spicy poke, Spam musubis, and a mixed BBQ plate with two scoops of mac salad. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The mac salad especially had that classic island-style taste that's hard to find done right. The staff was friendly, the decor looked great, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting feel. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for authentic Hawaiian comfort food.

The option for brown or fried rice was no extra charge, or if you did want to pay more you could get lo mein instead. I added a spring roll, which compared to my main dish was a bit overpriced but was tasty and, as with the other dishes around me, nicely plated. That alone should have been a red flag. I ordered three appetizers and two dinners. Shrimp toast, cream cheese wontons, steamed dumplings, a General Tso's combo with plain fried rice (because pork fried rice was not an option), and a pepper steak combo with fried rice as well. The shrimp toast was burnt and tasted of old stale burnt oil (see photo). The cream cheese wontons were not fresh. Definitely frozen. They were very dry and had a powdery mouth feel and were somewhat rubbery. Would not order them again. However, I want to think that the shrimp toast would be great if it wasn't burnt. The steamed dumplings were good. The dipping sauce was the best part of the entire meal. Very strong enjoyable garlic flavor in the sauce. The entrees..... Where do I begin? The Pepper steak itself tasted decent. However, there was only about a cup worth of pepper steak, and only about a tablespoon of actual meat. I wish there had been more. The rest of the container was stuffed with about 3lbs of really dry and crumbly fried rice. (see photo) The portion size of the General Tso's was about the same. Just an insane amount of rice compared to the actual entree portion. Zero pieces of green peppers or broccoli. Usually one or the other is in there at every Chinese place I've eaten at. I've never seen it made with just straight up chicken. Also, I ordered it "Extra Spicy" and it literally had zero spice to it. It tasted more like sweet and sour sauce on it. As others have stated, the food did not taste fresh overall. Just really disappointing. The egg rolls that came with the combo dinners were very small, about the size of a spring roll. Even the fortune cookies were rubbery. We didn't crack them in half. We basically unbent them to a flat state. Very odd indeed. Overall, I was left questioning whether any of the food that I ordered was actually made in house or if it was all al-a-restaurant-depo. I would probably not order from here again. If I did, I would probably give the shrimp toast another try in hopes that it didn't come out burnt again.
