Beautifully prepared sushi and sashimi. I ordered their Micky Roll and it was wonderful! (I normally don't prefer eel BUT this changed my kind!) please get the Cucumber salad to start!!! Hubby got a sashimi plate and they ran out of yellowfin so gave my husband extra of the other for the inconvenience. Very nice. Lovely service. My hubby and I went right before dinner rush at their Surry Center location. Sat right down at bar. But will be cramped for dinner service. Also outside seating available with heating lamps! Not a bad option! read more

Great service and quiet lunch vibe. The asparagus were delicious as always. I order the chicken taquitos which have clearly changed. I noticed it last time at highland Ave location so I decided to try them here. They are definitely frozen ones you can buy at a grocery store. They used to be full of fresh chicken and now it's a mushy grossness. The shell used to be fresh and crispy and now they are sealed tight like the frozen ones. Definitely going to stick with a sushi roll next time. read more

The service and food quality have been worse each time we've eaten here lately. The last 2 times we've waited about 30+ minutes to get our entrees and the food quality wasn't worth the wait. read more

I happen to love EVERY Takosushi I've been to - and this one is no different. Seriously - the asparagus - how can you beat that??? Great sushi! Great easy v west menu Green Chiles! Love every visit and every bite. read more

This restaurant experience is very unique ! They have a great assortment of choices from the menu . It is the ultimate fusion restaurant, and it is certain arguably the best restaurant in the Augusta, Georgia area . read more

Sushi was delicious & very fresh. Got a side of white rice for my daughter & she devoured it. Staff was friendly & attentive. My husband had a burger which he said was pretty decent. It looked small for the price but it did fill him out. If you get the veggie egg rolls it is a very small appetizer & only would be good for one person. I did the Asian stir fry with shrimp. Yes it was a lot of veggies like the menu states & the shrimp was cooked perfectly but the vegetables were lacking & not a good type to have a huge portion of them. Maybe it needed more rice. All & all it was very good though read more

I don't often eat sushi so I get a recommendation that is AWAYS terrific! I don't trust inexpensive sushi. I want high quality!

No matter what you order you cannot go wrong with your selection. Whenever I am back in Evans it is a must for me to dine and have a drink at Takosushi. This is my first review for Takosushi but I have had the pleasure of eating there many times when I lived in Evans. Many of those experiences were in my pre-yelp days. The best part of those experiences is that I never had a bad one. I will say that I am not well versed on the "Tako" side of the menu. I stick with the various rolls and when you have a person who is from Tokyo making your rolls and sushi you know you are in for a treat. My favorite rolls are any of the flash fried rolls especially the dynamite roll. When you hear the saying of a hidden gym this place represents that as this place is in the back of a complex and not facing the main street where traffic is located primarily. read more

Had a better experience at the Evans location than the Surrey Center. Nice outdoor patio and quick service. They currently have a 1hr 15min max per table due to COVID seating limitations. "West" side of the menu is better than the "East." We really liked the tacos and nachos, but the sushi has always been just okay. read more

well let's start off positive ..my waitress Daniel was amazing we gave her a 35% tip!! The wait time was reasonable but it became extremely long when I had to send both of our orders back . The quality of the food now is horrible , presentation for Sushi isn't appealing !! I use to LOVE THIS PLACE ... i drove 45 mins away from home for dinner and I wasn't pleased. we ask for our burgers to be cooked well done and they came out completely RARE !! MY sushi was missing cucumbers sadly they placed a few Big cucumbers sticks on the side of the plate instead of remaking it like they said they would . Will I eat here again ?? Well prices went up and quality went down... my 1st thought NEVER AGAIN read more

best salmon sashimi in Augusta! Always tastes fresh and delicious. Good selection of drinks here too. Very spacious compared to the surrey center takosushi. Good parking. Sushi was delicious, but still not a huge fan of the mexican selection here for the price. read more

Very dissatisfied with my order. I ordered three rolls, 2 Stoney's and a Crazy Susan roll... Well unless I'm losing my mind I thought the ingredients were suppose to be fresh. Always a delicious meal. I love their sushi. Good service and good food has been my experience every time I go to takosushi

This is one of my favorite sushi spots in the CSRA! Really love the southwest Tex-Mex type fusion they have on their menu. This makes it easier to dine with friends and family that don't particularly enjoy sushi. Although if they are new to the sushi experience this would be a great place to take them so they can explore the different options they have. I once brought a friend who didn't like sushi here and they tried a flash fried breaded sushi roll to start with and loved it. From then on they continued to venture to the other rolls and now they love sushi! They do offer outdoor seating and have another location in Augusta that is a little smaller but still very good. Definitely give this place a try if your in the mood for sushi, nachos, taquitos or even a good burger. Another one of my favorite appetizers is their tempura Asparagus. read more

So this is still the best sushi in town. I know it's a chain, but I have yet to be dissatisfied. There are two, one in surrey center and this one, off Belair, which is, I think is the better of the two. And if you are like me, not a very big sushi person at first, but they sold me when they let you fry the whole roll. That was my way of easing into it, now I eat it normally. I love the fried asparagus that, I think the sauce on top makes it a great bite, and it's always crispy. The potstickers are great as well. For sushi, I'm a fan of the Kevin roll. The crispy shrimp in the center helps provide crunch to sushi which I enjoy. They have a lot to choose from so try them all. As far as the "taco" part of the house, it's a southwestern style not traditional Mexican. Which is good, but I'm a traditionalist, but it was still good. Had taquitos, and they were good and a great option when you have that one friend who doesn't eat seafood but goes with you to a sushi place...lol. I would definitely recommend this place for good sushi. read more

Very impressive restaurant and excellent service. I never been before, but I heard good things about this place so I gave it a try. The moment you walk through the door, the servers greet you immediately and get everything ready for you. I have to say with all honesty, the miso soup wasn't all I expected. The smell that came from the container was very horrible. Next time, I'll try something else. But overall, the service was great. read more

Nah. The rice didn't seem quite right to me. The lack of fresh or pickled wasabi is lame, especially in a more expensive place. The rolls tend to fall apart a little. read more

Amazing food an atmosphere but absolutely horrid service. The service kind of ruined the experience.

Just a quick tip. Both Takosushi locations in the CSRA are good and serve amazing food. This location I prefer due to the space. There's more parking and the restaurant is bigger than the Highland Ave location. read more

UPDATE: I have changed by review from 4 to 3 stars because I just cannot seem to have good luck with the service here. Made a visit today at lunch with a friend (both in uniform), and our waitress was nice and friendly - great. We were in sort of s hurry, so we made our order and requested the checks at the same time - I also ordered a roll to go for a coworker that was stuck at work for lunch - separate check. So, when we start paying the checks, I pay cash for the single roll (as it was for someone else, she just gave me the money), and for my and my friend's checks, we both paid with our cards. The waitress brings back the first one (cash) as we hadn't gotten our cards out yet for the other two checks, before she took that one (which was fine). After she came back with that change and I got my card out, my friend and I both notice that there is no military discount on any of the checks (but she hadn't gotten her card out to pay yet). When the waitress came back, we mentioned it, and she said "Oh.... you're right, I'm so sorry about that". No problem, she takes all of the checks over to the manager and returns a few moments later. She tells us that the check that was paid in cash she wasn't able to do anything about because since it was cash, the ticket was already closed out.... That really isn't my problem, but since I'm in uniform, I'm trying not to make a fuss over a few cents. So okay... Then she tells my friend that hers is good to go (remember, she hadn't paid yet). Mine however, she says they basically have to reverse the charge (3-10 business days), and recharge me for the new, adjusted amount... Again.......... NOT MY PROBLEM, FIX IT. This is not the first time I've had issues with the service here - its like the waitstaff just doesn't pay attention or they don't care. Moral of the story is: check your ticket before you pay and make sure that if you had any coupons or discounts, that they are applied - otherwise it'll be a pain in the you know what. read more

Best sushi place ever. Ever. Get the volcano roll and Stoney's roll, they are delish!

We have been here numerous times now after moving to Augusta. This is our favorite sushi place in the area. You can't see it right away because it's tucked behind the shopping area. It's a small place, but it's always busy when we go for lunch or dinner. Today, we started with the asparagus tempura! It's one of my favorites along with the potstickers. Must try either one! For lunch, we had the bento box with the pyramid roll, chefs selection of fish, and added on a spicy tuna roll! It was absolutely delicious. They fish has always been fresh and tasty, the rolls are well put together and fairly priced. We've also had the Greenville roll, crunchy roll, and the biggest loser roll. All have been great! They also have a great drink selection and awesome margaritas! I will admit we have not tried any of the Mexican items on the menu. I've heard they're great but we always end up going with sushi! The service and management is always so friendly and informative. We have never had any problems with food or service here! Can't wait to go back again! read more

Went here with the family for an early birthday dinner, and really enjoyed my meal. We had some martinis and sushi, and it was all very scrumptious to say the least. The concept of it being sushi and Mexican in one place was a bit odd, but I guess it works for those who can't make up their mind. We got the fat boy roll, rainbow roll and dynamite roll and they were great. My favorite out of the three was definitely the Fat Boy Roll. The name speaks for itself.....lol read more

Our favorite sushi spot and it's great to bring people who don't like sushi cause they have a Mexican side to the menu which is very good as well. We enjoy the stuffed jalapeños as an appetizer and the Jesse Roll and Greenville roll are my favorites. Husband likes the chop chop roll with cucumber on the specials page. We came here this time on a Friday at 6:30 and it was just starting to get busy. It's not a very large place. Most times when we come there isn't much of a wait though. Service is always great and fast. Definitely check this place out! It's very hidden though on the back side of a business building so you have to really know about this place to find it. read more

Love this place. I had never tried sushi until I came here over a year ago. Still the best I've had.

It's Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the restaurant full of people. You can hear the kitchen staff cussing at each other and physically fighting in the back this goes on for over 5 minutes and everyone just acts like it's not happening. There's a 12-year-old kid beside me sitting there in shock listening to screaming and fighting in the back while everyone in the restaurant is waiting on their food. There is no management staff here of any sort and the food quality is very inconsistent at best. Once upon a time this restaurant was unique and offered high quality food, now 80% of your food goes into the microwave before it comes to your table. I will never return to the dumpster fire of a restaurant or any of the other ones because they all have the same problems lately. read more

At first glance you would think this concept could not work, but it worked wonderfully. This was our first time in this restaurant so the waitress took hr time to explain the menu and everything that we could order. It really helped us feel comfortable even though the menu is quite large. For an appetizer we had the Tempura Asparagus which was awesome! My husband had the Pork Tacos and I had the Crazy Roll and both tasted incredible. The service was the best we have experienced in Augusta and the taste of the food was just icing on the cake. We will be back!! read more

Oh my god Yelp, you've done us wrong. How is Mexican and Japanese fusion supposed to go this far south? Well, I had a few creative rolls that were subpar, heavy on the rice and mayo and my husband had the sashimi plate. He ended up sending it back and went for the tacos instead and a bad case of stomach trouble later that night. Never again. read more
