Interesting, eclectic, menu. Southwest inspired sushi dishes. Very good sashimi and rolls. Can order tacos, enchiladas etc with asian inspired fillings or the traditional southwest/mexican fare. Full bar with a good beer (by the bottle) selection. Smaller venue with outdoor seating. It will take you some time to review the menu but it is worth the trip. read more

Service was good but sushi tasted fishy, which is a definite no-no. The waiter was prompt and polite and the alcoholic beverages were great. read more

My absolute favorite for sushi in town!! Love dining in and picking up my order to go. My favorite roll is the Crazy Roll and Tempura Asparagus. The Key Lime Martini is excellent! read more

Average sushi at sushi prices, and average Mexican at sushi prices. Cool looking place, but not stellar food, and pretty pricey.

Great sushi, wonderful bento box, awesome service!

A restaurant like this... you expect so much better. As a fusion between Japanese and Mexican it fails to really merge the two. Really they're just offering two distinct types of food in one establishment. The sad part is they don't make either of the types well enough to distinguish it from a real Japanese or (good to great) Mexican establishment. read more

Fabulous selection of southwest and Asian dishes. The bar is top rate and the service is quick and efficient. I love the wide selections of appetizers and entrees. The portions are generous and I'm always so amazed that everything we order comes out together at the perfect temperature. Dined inside but hope to be served on patio at next visit as weather cools. My only issue here is that you can feel a little claustrophobic on a busy night. Other than that this is definitely a unique and delicious place to meet for a meal. read more

This is by far some of the best sushi to be had. I eat at this place every time I am in the Augusta area. Great menu selection, great portioning. Only complaint would be some of the smaller tables are so jam packed together you have to rearrange the configuration in order to sit. read more

If you're into cream cheese, fried things, slow service, and not real sushi, come here. I'm currently waiting for the waitress to notice me and let me pay for my food. Overall, this place is great for people who like cheap Mexican food and don't like real sushi. It's disgusting. But if that's your vibe then the more the merrier. read more

Some of the best sushi I've had in a long time. It very expensive, but worth every penny. If I'm ever in Augusta again, I'll definitely eat there again. read more

Best sushi in Augusta! I love the crazy roll and enjoy the atmosphere and the waitstaff is always pleadant

OUTSTANDING Place! Cool, relaxed vibe. Superb sushi... go for the rolls! Enjoyed some egg rolls, a Bento box and a couple of glasses of wine and it was just delightful. Ask for Burney. She is amazing. Perfect timing, graceful, pleasant, and ensures you have a great experience. ABSOLUTE RECOMMEND and a personal favorite when I am in town. read more

The service here is always great. Haven't had the sushi much, but the non sushi options are lovely. The firecracker shrimp is fun and has just the right heat and crunch. The manager/owner is sweet. I was nursing my son with a cover and she came up to me to say she was excited I was nursing in public and that if I shouldn't feel like I have to cover up if I don't want. She even gave me a free dessert for breastfeeding calories! Haha. read more

Reasonably priced Americanized sushi. Bento box is a must! Rolls are just decent. The service we had at this location was great. Very friendly and prompt. The grilled salmon is very simple with salt/pepper, but is cooked well and tasty. The loose pinto beans that it comes with is weird and dry. We also tried the taquitos and that was a definite miss. I am not running back for the Mexican food aspect of this place, but it's a great little place to get a reasonably priced lunch or a quick dinner. read more

One of my favorite local restaurants. The other day, I had the grilled white tuna and it was the best grilled fish I had ever eaten. I've eaten at the Evans location at least a half dozen times and at the Surrey Center location once, and have found the food consistently excellent and the service good. One of the things I like most about it is the imaginative menu. read more

As a new parent, I was offered a high chair, but since the straps were broken I was unable to use it for my daughter. No point in having something if it doesn't work safely. read more

The Tempura Asparagus is a must!!! The SW menu items are as good as any I have had anywhere. Check it out for a fun evening.

I learned of this place on yelp and decided to try it out. I arrived on a Friday night and the place was packed. Granted it is not a huge restaurant, but surprisingly for a location not seen from the road, every table was full. Simple but well done decor with a decent patio that needs some help in that area. Menu was laid out in an interesting and easy to understand way. California roll and miso soup was a good as other places I've had them. Overall, good menu, ambiance, and service, but is a little cramped with tables too close together and patio needs some work. read more

Came here on a weekday with my son for an early dinner. We were greeted and seated promptly. A waitress then came over to explain that she was not our server but would get us drinks. We waited forever to have our order taken. This really irked me because there were 3 workers just hanging out at the sushi bar. I guess our waiter was the only one serving the full tables at the moment. We came for the sushi and didn't try the Mexican food so my review is strictly for sushi. I have issues with sushi full of cream cheese and jalapeños. Im not sure if this is part of the "fusion" aspect of this restaurant but I am not a fan. It took me forever to find something without these two ingredients. The raw tuna on top of my roll looked like it was mixed with cooked tuna or something else. (some white colored pieces mixed in) I was really disappointed. I'm not even comparing it to sushi I've had in places where the sushi is known for being more authentic. I've literally had grocery store sushi in this area that's better. It wasn't worth it for the price at all. Never returning. read more

I've been coming here for years but I was extremely disappointed in the service tonight and i don't know if I'll be returning here. Everything was fine but when I got the bill I gave the waitress two gift cards and my debit card because I didn't know how much was in my gift cards. The waitress comes back and brings back both the gift cards but tells me she lost my debit card! I get accidents happen and I'm not saying it was her fault... then the manager comes over and tells me "oh sorry but we lost your card". I appreciate the apology but nothing was done to compensate me for them losing my card. They stated that they would search the restaurant after they closed (which is pointless because the card would be canceled by the time they found it) but no other resolution was offered. Still paid full price for our meal and when we walked out to leave the manager just said "take care ladies" like nothing had happened. Since I'm not a buttwipe I still left a tip before I left. Super disappointed in the customer service. read more

Since my first review, I've eaten here about half a dozen times and have not been disappointed. Try the Tataki Tango if you like sashimi. The portions of fish were large and delicious. The tempura fried baha fish soft tacos are awesome as well. They have Delirium Tremens imported beer here also, which is hard to find even a local package store let alone a restaurant. If you decide to sit at the bar instead of a table, be prepared to listen to the bartender chatter on about nothing. I really enjoy the food there but started coming to the place on her days off just to avoid her. read more

Loved this place for a long time, it was a regular stop for me at least once a week in the past, great for lunch with coworkers, family dinners, etc... In the past year the standards of the sushi has dropped, and numerous comments to the staff about it have been ignored, well made sushi shouldn't fall apart on you. We kept going despite that, though not as often. In our most recent visit, I was very disappointed to see that the dropping standards have finally made their way to the health rating, (80 B), and saw a cockroach on the wall where the dishes are, which they killed the cockroach when we pointed it out, but left the dishes there. Hate to say it, but until they fix this location, this one is out of the rotation. Go to the other locations if you really have a craving. read more

The crazy susan roll is the best and the asparagus is awesome!!! Service is friendly and very polite.

Very rude waitstaff and mediocre food. We went for lunch and there was only one other table occupied and after initially ignoring us and then finally acknowledging our presence the hostess/waitress tried to seat us next to that table. We politely asked for a different table and she huffed and and said fine. The hostess was also our waitress, guess she didn't want to seat us in her section because she didn't feel like working? And her attitude continued throughout our meal. I am quit disappointed in myself for staying in the first place after the rude reception. The food was ok at most, it is obviously not top shelf sushi grade fish and the rice was soggy and I'm pretty sure the taquitos were frozen and if they weren't they might as well have been. I will never go back, it is a strange combination and they are not succeeding in either cuisine. read more

Awesome sushi!! Portions are just enough for one person or you can get a few and share! The atmosphere feels laid back to me so i find it pretty relaxing. Great place for friends to get together for a night out too. Will definitely be back! read more

Went for dinner and sat at the bar on a Monday night. We ordered queso dip and sexy salad for starters with out drinks. Both were amazing! The drinks came fast and we didn't wait long for the starters. We also ordered a burger and a sushi roll. Both were incredible. The burger was huge and cooked to perfection. The roll was amazing as well. Cassy waited on us at the bar and provided great conversation and funny quips as we waited for our food. She stayed on top of our drinks and made the evening that much better for us along with staying on top of to go orders and drinks for the rest of the restaurant. Will definitely return and ask for Cassy!!!! read more

This is one of Evans best kept secrets. It is hard to find, but worth the effort. Locals eat there regularly. The sushi is excellent. The mexican dishes have an asian twist. There are not many tables, but the weekend crowd does not pour in until after 6 pm. Try the fried asparagus, and it will become your favorite appetizer. read more

Overall great food. Great place to take someone who won't eat sushi, because they have really good Mexican food, too.

The restaurant was a empty when we got there so our food was given to us quickly and the waitress was very helpful. We told her we weren't into raw sushi so she pointed out the cooked ones and she even gave us a tutorial on chopstick use. I had the delicious crazy Susan roll and a nice salad. It's a great restaurant overall. read more

Best place for sushi in the area. Great menu. I ordered the tempura asparagus and the super krunchy roll. Who would have thought asparagus could taste soooo good. Comes with a teriyaki and aoli type of sauce drizzled on them. Delicious! read more

Admittedly I am not a fan of sushi, but my daughter is so we went for lunch. I ordered the beef taquitos as a light lunch and was served 4 taquitos like the ones you buy in the frozen food section at your grocery store for $4.50 for a box of 20-25. I was charged $4.95 for food I could make at home in my toaster oven. We also ordered the quacamole and chips and was impressed with the amount that came in the small bowl, until you took a couple of chipfulls and realized the bowl was filled with lettuce to make it appear as if you were getting more. The server was inattentive and refilled my coke with diet coke from a pitcher. When I tried to get the server to change my drink, she was no where to be found. Definitely not a fan. read more

I had dinner at TakoSushi on the 2nd of this month. At first glance this place exudes a hipster or 20 something vibe, but once you get past the main clientele and settle into your seat you will be surprised as has been stated by many "looks can be deceiving." The food is an eclectic variety of Mexican, Japanese, and American cuisine. I first heard of this place from an eighteen year-old and so I already had a bias going in and the first impression didn't help matters, but I must say the Sushi was excellent. I had the Spicy Tuna Roll which comes with a teaspoon of Wasabi and a teaspoon of Ginger. The roll was approximately eight or nine thick slices and with the added Wasabi; spicy enough to stimulate the palate. Once Your chop sticks are infused with the Wasabi you may want to reduce the portions less you clear your sinus passages as well as excite your palate. Small cafe size restaurant. Not recommended for large parties. Limited waiting area. Not my first choice for Japanese-American fare, but in a pinch it's an excellent choice. read more

Absolutely delicious! Super fresh sushi in a huge variety. You have to start with the tempura asparagus. Also, this Augusta location is roomier than the Surrey Center location, so it doesn't feel as cramped. Behind the Y, in case you can't find it. read more

After hearing about this place from a friend, I thought this place would be 5 stars. However, I would not want to go here again on my own accord. I thought the place was very small with every table so close to each other it was uncomfortable. I could not enjoy a conversation with my gf because the other tables were so close. I tried both Mexican food and the sushi. Both were just average. The only thing I would say that was good was the service. Our waitress was always checking on us and was very prompt with filling our drinks. I really wish the food was better. read more

Ordered the fried asparagus and the crazy roll. The asparagus was excellent. The dipping sauce was also superb. The crazy roll had shrimp tempura and cucumber. It was fresh and delicious. Our waitress was great and helped us with recommendations. Highly recommend. read more

This place has a lot of potential. And their menu is creative and sounds delicious. My husband and I went there for lunch and ordered for an appetizer the jalapeño poppers which were amazing. For our lunch we each ordered the tacos. One order was the fish tacos and the other were the pork tacos. First of all they were dry. The waitress said they put mayo on it, but we barely could taste it. Second, both dishes lacked some flavor. They were both bland and very disappointing. We definitely will not be returning. The only reason why I rated this a 2 star was because of the jalapeño poppers, they were very good. read more

Best in Augusta!!! Great sushi chefs!

Last evening, we had the pleasure of our first visit to Takosushi in Evans, GA. It was, in a word, outstanding. The service was prompt and courteous, the food delicious, and the atmosphere very enjoyable. We had pork dumplings, Japanese bagel rolls and Super Krunchy rolls. ALl properly prepared, great ingredients, tender smoked salmon and outstanding tempura fried shrimp. This is surprisingly good food in a modest setting and a quiet, easy to find location. Definitely on the return list for us. Very broad menu selections and reasonable prices to boot. good show, Takosushi. read more
