I typically do my own oil changes, so I cannot speak on this matter. However, when it comes to getting State inspections done, this facility/location is always very quick, friendly, engaging, and most of all, they value proper customer service. Today, I was helped by Maile & Bri. Both of them helped perform the inspection, installed MY air & cabin air filters, and did so quickly! My son went in to do a state inspection and an oil change. The oil change is where everything went wrong. Oscar started the oil change and dropped plug in oil drain and lost it. Then he put the wrong plug in the truck and stripped out the oil pan. Also it was a brand new engine and it's first oil change. They sent him home with a hand tight plug in oil pan. So we called them something needs to be done about this so 2 people came to my house in Santa Fe to try and fix saying it was there fault and if it needs new oil pan they would fix. Then a manager came to the house and the story changed to it was already stripped and they weren't responsible for anything. So to sum up the story we had to put an oil pan on the new engine @ 350 OUT OF MY POCKET. The assistant manager Authur said he would file a claim but they would not pay. We still haven't heard from Authur yet it's been 3 weeks. read more

Brought my 16 yr old to teach her how to get an oil change. Ian starts his spill on the different oil changes, and afterwards I tell him I would like a basic oil change please- no synthetic. A girl then proceeds to ask what oil and once told she makes a snarky comment to Ian about our cheap choice to which Ian responds with "it ain't my car". I found the customer service to be very subpar. Part of good customer service is respecting your customers choice. read more

Super fast service! All of the staff were super nice, knowledgeable, caring, and even offered my 2yo a Capri Sun and snacks. Had an issues with an unethical State Inspector at a store in Humble. The guy started my inspection then halfway through he came in and told me that I needed new wipers (which I knew that was not the case cause I had bought the current wipers 8 months ago), and I told him that my wipers were good and that they weren't that old. But just for information, I asked how much were the wipers he was trying to sell me and he replied with $30 each. These days everyone is watching out for unnecessary spending and I am no exception. I told him no thank you and nonchalantly, he replied ok. He went to finish up and came back and politely asked how I was paying and I replied "with a credit card" and he took my payment. After printing the receipts, he handed me the paper work with a smile and stated, "by the way, IT FAILED!" I asked him why and he said cause of the wipers. I was angry but got in my vehicle and drove down the street to another inspector and asked if they would check my wipers (without mentioning my experience at Take 5). Two inspectors inspected my wipers and they both told me that my wipers were not brand new but they are good. I proceeded to tell them (after they looked at my wipers) that a guy at Take 5 failed my state inspection cause of my wipers. They were both in surprised as I was when it first happened. They told me to go and tell the guy that two inspectors looked at my blades and said they were good so to please pass my test or to give me my money back and that was what I did. There was no budge in Take 5 Inspector, probably due to pride, he refused and said he could call it how he wanted to and that he was failing my test. This in so many ways is very unprofessional and unethical behavior from an inspector with that type of authority. Especially when I called another Take 5 store Saturday when getting home and telling that person what had happened. That person responding, "first of all, we have wiper blades that cost $16.99", I immediately knew that there was something very wrong with perhaps not Take 5 as a company, but that person running that store that day. read more

Fantastic experience! I was very hesitant to visit this store due to some unflattering reviews. I really needed an inspection and it is usually empty so... what the heck. When I followed the signs to the rear, I was immediately greeted by Sandra (soon to be store mgr.). The whole process was seamless, fast and safe. Andrew, the current store mgr., eased my concerns and I decided to have the oil changed as well. Again...seamless and no hard sell or upcharges. And he replaced the oil plug free of charge too! So this place will top off any fluids, including oil, until the recommended change date, not bad right? Kudos to Andrew and Sandra for their most excellent customer service skills. read more

Took my truck to the Dickson, TX 5 Minute Oil Change across the street from HEB and waited in a line for over an hour (no exaggeration - 4:00 PM on 6/30/2023) to get my oil change and vehicle inspection. Once I finally got in the bay the state inspector said my inspection failed for a fault code showing for an Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor. Said get it fixed and bring back your vehicle for a reinspection. Okay, went and had the sensor replace the next day and brought it back for reinspection. All tests passed, but the inspector said the vehicle failed because I needed to drive it 100 miles before being retested. They also stated since they only do 1 reinspection I would have to pay another inspection fee when I brought it back. I am VERY disappointed in this location. I told the inspector that had they told me that I would have driven the 100 miles before bringing it back. Zero interest at this location in making this situation right. Reading the paperwork given from them it also does not say anything about 100 miles. It says to bring the vehicle back to the same location within 15 days after repairs are made for a free reinspection. Not upset about having to drive 100 miles, but very upset they did not tell me, and that they plan to charge me another inspection fee. I am done with this location. read more
