Not only is this a 24 hour Wal-Mart Superstore it is located right next to Sam's Club and Chesapeake Square Mall as well as other shopping. I needed an oil change and didn't want to go thru the hassle of making an appointment at the dealership and waiting forever while my car is serviced! Wal-Mart did me right yesterday. While they did not have exactly what I need they were able to provide an alternative. Good to know for future visits! The gentleman, Marquis (spelling may be inaccurate) assisted me within seconds of walking into the Auto Center. After telling him what service I needed, he was most helpful in providing top notch customer service. The center seems a bit shorthanded, but everyone that entered and exited I saw was treated fairly and within a reasonable time frame. There is a waiting area for customers with seats and a television. The TV was a bit challenged. I guess there antenna signal wasn't too strong. The TV was going in and out in and out. While I understand scheduling limitations, it felt too early in the day to be turning customers away without offering any alternatives--especially in such uncomfortable conditions. Who in their right mind would sit and wait in a sauna-like environment just for an oil change? The overall experience was disappointing. When Bob was out with shoulder surgery, and I had to deal directly with Rodney and Charles, my comfort level and customer service dramatically increased! Dealing with Rodney was a true pleasure because he treated me with respect. Now there is Jeff as manager and Tim as service manager. I spoke with Tim one day and he asked me to bring my vehicle in to leave it for the work I needed done. When I showed up, Jeff greeted me and asked if I had an appointment. I told him That your service manager The day before and he told me to drop it off. Jeff looked at me and without saying a word turned around and walked out into the service area to ask Tim if this is what he said to me. I was extremely offended by this action and when Jeff returned I asked him if he thought I was lying to him. I could talk about many more negative things that have happened since Jeff and Tim arrived, but will only describe one more. I was told again by Tim to drop my vehicle off for two simple things... tire balance and rotation. I told Tim that I wanted the lifetime balancing package for the life of the tires. I have done this lifetime package before from this location when it was Merchants. I was told it would take about 2 to 3 hours to complete and Three days later I finally get my car back. When Jeff was checking me out, I found out that the balance and rotation was a one time deal and not lifetime. I told Jeff that the only reason I came with this vehicle was to purchase the lifetime balancing/rotation and that I would not have purchased it if I knew it was not lifetime. He simply told me that he was sorry that I was told wrong and that a 30 minute job took three days. Over the years I have spent thousands of dollars at this location. If Rodney and Charles were still there, I would continue to bring all five of my vehicles. I do not recommend NTB on Dock Landing Road in Chesapeake.
