I went on 11-12-24 and the tech told me that they would not be able to replace my skid plate because they didn't have the fasteners. I asked him how important the skid plate was and he said "that he has a family member with a car lower then mine and as long as I didn't hit any big bumps I would be fine." I then asked how hard was it to put the skid plate back on and he said "It was an easy process and all I had to do was get the fastens at an Auto Zone and I could do it myself." I couldn't do it so I took my car to the dealership on 11-14-24 to have the skid plate put back on and the dealership let me know that the skid plate did not need to be removed for an oil change to be done. I went back to Valvoline and spoke to the store manager 11-15-24. Who said that he would speak to his GM about the matter and today I was told they are not going to reimburse me for the cost of having someone else fix their mistake. My friend who used to work for Valvoline recommended them and spoke very highly of their professionalism. He said they were a good company and could be trusted. Needless to say I'm extremely disappointed in this whole situation. What started out as a $100 oil change has now become a $277 ($377 if you include the price of the oil change) issue that never should have happened in the first place if the tech did not take off the skid plate unnecessarily. I do not recommend. Honestly the dealership is also cheaper only $90 for a full synthetic oil change and they check way more on your car. Go to the dealership not here!

I called the shop and they told me to bring it in to check the codes. I went by auto zone on the way and it threw 9 different codes..brought it into Don's and it threw the same code, but they insisted there was nothing wrong with it/that they didn't do anything wrong. The check engine light came back on again today and they're still insisting they had nothing to do with it. Definitely not a coincidence that my check engine light just came on after it spent two hours in their shop and hasn't had this problem ever.

I was moving cross country from CA to NC this past October. I decided to take a rest stop off a…read morerandom exit in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere in Tx. As I pulled off, one of my breaks failed. (Like screeching grinding metal and car lurching kind of failed.) I was a single female traveling alone with a pet and it was HOT out. I was four hours from my next hotel stay, and have physical disabilities. I was terrified. AAA gave me the number to G&M Auto Care. When I called, I talked to the owner, Mr. Leatham who was SOOOO nice, and pretty much already knew what was wrong with my car based on the description. I had my car towed there, and they worked on it right away. Mr. Leatham chatted with me and my pet bunny in the waiting area. He told me a story about how he was stranded once, and couldn't find anyone to help him. I knew he understood my situation. My car was fixed in under 2 hours for a very fair price, and I was able to make it to my next destination before it was dark. I am very grateful that my breaks failed on THAT exit, because I ended up at the right repair station, with an honest and compassionate person to make sure I was back on the road safely, and with piece of mind.
