So I decided to give it a try…read more After scheduling my appointment and showing up on time, they had over booked themselves and were short handed so the appointment took longer than they anticipated. I was initially happy with the tint, but soon realized that it needed to be redone for a small defect; (it was obstructing my view). I called and spoke to the daughter of the owner who assured me they could retrim the tint (it was an eyebrow tint over the windshield) for no additional charge. Sounded good! I showed up and they tore the original work they had done and then told me that they couldn't trim the tint, but they would happily replace the tint for an additional charge of $35. It was a shakedown for sure. They had absolutely no customer service. I asked to speak to the manager (her father) but was told he wasn't available. After some haggling, they replaced the tint but did such a terrible job that there are streaks in the tint, bubbles throughout the work, and left over residue throughout the dash of my vehicle. I will not return to this place and warn everyone about Tall City Tint. Pictures are attached. You can see the streaks and other materials that were left on the windshield. Update: Finally made contact with the owner of this shady business. My thoughts have not changed. This place and the staff are not honorable. Customer beware!

Of all the crazy things that can happen, a vulture flew into my windshield halfway through my drive…read morefrom Houston to Odessa! Completely shattered the middle of my windshield but praise God I still had great visibility from my driver side view. I pulled over onto the shoulder of the road and called various repair shops in towns along the remainder of my route seeing if anyone could fix my windshield along my way. This incident occured around 3 pm on a Friday afternoon and every place I called advised they needed to order a new windshield and the quickest time they could repair it would be the following Tuesday. That didn't work for my schedule. Luckily while I was calling around, my dad was also calling around to repair shops in the Odessa/Midland area. Alas, he found our hero, the amazing, Dante at Onyx Tint! Dante was able to order the part and went into the shop BY HIMSELF the very next morning, while the rest of the Onyx staff was off for the day and repaired my windshield within the time it took my dad and I to have a nice breakfast at nearby, Jimmy's Egg and to do a little shopping nearby. Rain was also in the forecast for the day and Dante got us outta the way and back home to Odessa with my vehicle spotlessly repaired before the rain began. I can not give Dante/Onyx Tint enough praise for this amazing above and beyond service I received! Thanks to Dante there was no disruption to my Odessa trip, I was able to travel back safely to Houston without worry and my windshield looks good as new. His price was extremely competitive/fair, he was able to make my car shine (like a mirror) when I thought that was going to need to repaint it. The AC actually feels like it works now. It's expensive tint but worth it. No more suction cup sunshades that do not block heat. The install is very professional, had no idea they had to remove the door panels. Exceptional job. I was shocked when I saw how much work they had to do, and you can't tell anything was taken apart. Price stayed as quoted in spite of the extra work. Very trustworthy and capable.

What an unexpected surprise!…read more So I came through here on a Saturday after attempting to locate a place that sells reasonably priced tint. Originally, my plan was to check out the place and see if they'd be able to fit me in for the following Saturday. What I did not expect was their willingness to schedule me for that same day. How could I refuse? My car already had tint on it, but it was not legal for inspection. What I was content with was the fact that the amount I paid out-of-state for installation was around the same price here for tint removal and installation. Now, walking in and having my car worked on has its own setbacks. The major one is the fact that everyone else actually had appointments, so my car was saved for last. I can't argue with that since I completely dropped the job on them. However, they were professional about it and still decided to work with me. I believe the office is shared with Sound Choice, but they run separate businesses on each side of the garage. The waiting area is filled with several car audio speakers and accessories. There is not much else to do but to fiddle with your phone if you decide to wait, so be sure to have a friend pick you up after you drop your car off. I was very happy to see the results after the long wait. Ken's work is flawless and my car looks better than ever. He even placed a tape over the power window controls in case a brain fart would cause me to roll the windows down. Thanks a lot to Ken for his patience and attention to detail. I highly recommend this place if you are in the market for window tinting.
