I've always had the "hookup" gettin in here after 2am but lemme tell you NOT the best place at that time. EXTREMELY packed after 2. Long line that I would never wait. The music isn't bad though. They have a small dance floor in back but like I said it usually gets jam packed hard to breathe kinda feelin. While its in the nature of 4am bars to be pretty awful, the smell of impending bad decisions just oozes out of this one. This place is super dimly lit, you really can't see what you're getting yourself into (or what's trying to get himself into you).. Gross bathrooms, over-priced drinks, unfriendly burly bartenders.. On the upside, its full of freakshows and is great for people watching. I do however recommend bringing a bat to keep the regulars from preying on you and your friends. read more

If you want a late night place to drink, dance, and puke in the bathroom, then this is your spot (minus the puking in the bathroom. Don't be that guy/girl). It's always full of night owls, and the music is pumping in the back room for your dancing/grinding pleasure. Not a bar to see and be seen, but definitely a great place to get your drink on. read more

I've only been here after about 1am cause they are one of the few places in the area open til 4. Every time I have gone here I think it gets weirder and weirder. The back is like a crazy dance party. I made the unfortunate decision to try Tai's Till 4 the other weekend. Immediately after walking in I knew I had made a mistake. The place was packed, smelled like piss, and I could barley tell where I was (blame that on the amount of beer I drank that night or the lighting, either way I didn't like it) We grabbed a drink at the bar and proceeded to the 'dance room' which felt like some dark torture room with people dancing around waiting to attack you. We stayed for one drink and left cause the girls I was with felt uncomfortable. We promised never to return to Tai's. read more

This bar is the best in Chicago for real Chicagoans. The staff is friendly and if you get there early enough chances are you'll wind up making new friends with everyone in the bar. From Jeff the bartender who knows his clients to the rest of the staff that actually enjoy their jobs there's no better 2nd home! If you want to catch a game but stay low key the tv's are great and there's never too big a crowd during pre 1am hours. After that let yourself go and have fun. Everyone's there having a good time and while it can get crowded it's always a fun crowd. With a bar in the front and a bar near the dance floor in the back I've never had to wait for a drink. The only complaint I have about this place is that I never wake up feeling great on Sundays after being there 'til 5am on a Saturday night. That's my own fault. I highly recommend if your up for a night out or just a game of pool with some friends while you watch a game. read more

After traveling throughout the city in hopes to continue the evening with my posse (Hangge-Uppe and Beaumonts were a no-go), Tai's hit the spot. As a lakeview resident myself, I have passed this joint many times but never imagined myself staying out past the wee hours of the night to experience quite a place. who hasn't been there late night after a long night of drinks and unknown amount of attempts to hook up? The bartenders are awesome! Jeff will remember you if you're there more than once. Big Ron is possibly the coolest bartender in the city. And Blake, owner, is cool as hell! I go on Friday nights cause it's honestly the best. It gets packed after 2 and the scene is awesome! If you enjoy loud music that hits ya right between the eyes you're gonna love this spot. DJ Swiz rocks! He mixes everything! Last time I was there i remember hearing Ludacris, Justin Bieber, Flock of Seagulls, some awesome remix of a few 70s songs, and of course all the regular pop/top 40 you expect to hear. He's also totally approachable. I'm not embarrassed to admit that I spent a good 5-10 minutes chatting with him. Totally cool dude! Want more incentive?? The pizza joint next door opens up and serves late night by the slice! Maybe you don't like pizza...ok...the chubby weiner mobile is usually parked right out front! You can't go wrong with this spot! Bar smells like old wet clothes you forgot in the washer. Very hard to swallow a drink with an awful smell. Bartender was not friendly at all. He was eating and taking shots not paying attention to his customers!!! read more

Where to begin? Is it possible to give 6 stars? What went from just another birthday party at the State Bar then Blue Frog in River North turned into a splendid evening at Tai's Til 4. Apparently, this is the kind of place that makes emotions flow like wine (and in our case), Bud Lights. The smell of the bar and the basketballs flying over head made it somewhat difficult to focus your attention on the friends you are with...but you need to push through. The highlight of the night was the cold metal of the basketball complex on my arm as I lean in for an exciting and exhilerating make out session. My fellow patrons were very "interesting" (read: drunk and carefree) and did not take any notice of these activities. We seemed to fit in, which is somewhat atypical - nice change and surprise. ...All that said, I think they still have my credit card but we will never know. Very much looking forward to the next trip back so we can test our skills out on the dance floor - which I overheard was very slippery. I love you? read more

What is wrong with you people you hate Tai's? It is a four a.m. DIVE BAR. IF you want fancy, then go hang out on Michigan Ave or the Viagra Triangle. If you want strong, cheap drinks, while being crammed in like a sardine, then this is the place for you. Usually starts picking up after 1 am. If you are there before one, you can actually sit down, have a drink, and enjoy Jeff's extremely offensive t-shirts (my favorite, "Over 10,000 battered women and I'm still eating mine plain"). If you find that offensive, then Tai's is not the place for you. read more

Would give it 2.5 stars If I could. Dance floor was way too empty. But there were a handful of hotties, some of them with guys, some of them with their girlfriends looking to meet a guy. Some definite creepers. Basically just a place to scramble to find a hook-up partner before the night ends, could be better, could be worse. read more

i stumbled into this place with some friends around 3am on a saturday. it was crowded, but we didn't have any problems getting service. i got chased out of the emergency exit by a bouncer (maybe i was not behaving?) and was unable to escape because the entire back of the bar is fenced in. so, in the event of a fire, there is no way out. being a bouncer at an after hours bar must suck. read more

I love this place! You have to realize it is, quite simply, what it is. Tai's is a 4 am bar that gets crowded after 2 am. The people that go there are wasted and probably looking to hook up. The staff there is always awesome and I feel like they protect their patrons. The bartenders are quick and friendly. The door staff is very professional. I'm a fan for late night drinking and socializing. I'll definitely be back in the wee hours of the morning! read more

I love Taistil4! I've lived in the neighborhood for years and I'm proud to say I go there quite often. I do agree that on the weekends it sometimes gets to crowded to move around. I think it's funny to read all the bad reviews of the staff there, I think they're all great! I have often seen first hand how stupid people really get after 2am and think the bouncers deserve more money for putting up with drunk idiots if anything. So, if your there and you see someone get thrown out buy the bouncer, buy the bouncer a beer cause I'm sure it was justified. read more

this guy dan that was "supposedly" punched in the face by the security is a liar. he was kicked out of the bar for grabbing a girl's butt.(that girl was my friend, and she did not want to press charges against dan) he tried to start a fight. then outside he tried to start a fight. then down the street he found one and got punched by someone that was not even in the bar read more
