The location is fantastic, as there was a local market going on just a few steps away from the entrance to this Pub, and while my brother and I had arrived as the stalls were packing up, our friends said this market is where they do their weekly shopping and pick up local gee-gaws. The interior of the Pub/ Restaurant is very bright and spacious and loved the indoor garden. The decor references the name, as there are tons of styles as coffee pots displayed on the shelves scattered around on the walls. The seating is comfy and there are a variety of table options available, but we decided to go for the bench seating. The architecture features are beautifully Victorian, and I also found out this tavern was originally established as a teetotal alternative to Warwick's pubs! That ban is no longer in effect and now they have a great menu selection available of ales, craft ciders, cocktails and wines. From looking at the menu, it was very classic British dishes like toad-in-the-hole and chicken-and-ham-hock pie. However I wasn't hungry, so didn't order anything, but my brother decided to get their Sticky Toffee Pudding. You have to go place your order & pay at the Bar, there is no table service and this place was hopping so it took a good 10 mins for my brother's dessert to arrive at the table. I thought the Sticky Toffee was okay - not the best I've ever heard, but it certainly won't go on my list of worst ever eaten! I did think the cake was a bit too dense - didn't have that true light and airy feel normally get with a perfect baked pudding cake, however I will give props cause their Toffee sauce didn't taste sickly-sweet. So while I would give then a 3-star rating based on this menu item, have bumped it up as overall atmosphere as so great. I might return and try some of the other menu choices, but perhaps not the Sticky Toffee Pudding! Yelp 178/ 2019

Food-wise I had a tuna steak that was all right served with some tasty vegetable stew and french fries (which I try to avoid, though these were at least pretty good french fries). The wifey had a burger that went down without complaint. Interesting bar space with some history to it.

So starving that we…read morecouldn't help, but attack the bread the waitress brought to our table as soon as we were seated at Rose and Crown. Boy, that was good bread. For my meal I ordered the goat cheese sandwich, which came with a tomato, red pepper, and parsnip soup. The soup did the trick of warming me up right away! The goat cheese sandwich was just OK. I never thought I'd say this since I absolutely love goat cheese, but they overdid it on the cheese a bit. I think they used 10 goats to make this one sandwich. Someone else at the table was smart enough to order a side of fries (umm, I mean chips) so I put my sandwich aside and ate those instead. Others at the table munched on ravioli, ceasar salad, and mushroom risotto. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. I also liked that their coffee came with lots of sugar cubes (I ate 3 just on their own!) and smarties (one of my favorite candies). They may not know how to make a goat cheese sandwich at Rose & Crown, but they sure know how to serve a good cup of coffee!

Reasonable local ale for just £4.10 each. Shared the £7.50 Camembert with croute toast as an appetizer. It didn't last very long. Loved the Deli Plates tapas-style tasting menu concept. If I ever open a restaurant, I'm totally ripping off that idea! Loved the Poached Salmon with arugula and the Smoked Mackerel Pate. Nice ales and reasonable wine prices. Very pleasant and personable table service.
