Dont go here ! Customer service is terrible. They made a mistake with embroidery on a Pottery Barn chair, and their solution to fix it was that I bring in another chair even though the mistake was on their end. The owner, Joe is rude and makes no effort to fix a mistake. Any pottery barn customers - go somewhere else for your anywhere chairs ! Not worth the risk. I would give 0 stars if possible. read more

How disappointing. It's not easy to find a decent tailor, that's for sure. Tailor's choice I will admit had never failed me in it's tailoring. I was actually satisfied with the few pants, jacket, and dress that they had tailored. But what happened one visit was intolerable. I came in during "Boxing Week", a day or two before New Year's. They were busy, maybe 4 active customers (usually it's just myself and another at one time). The lady at the counter asked me for my ticket. My man friend had misplaced it, but I gave her my number, name, and description of the pants, on a piece of paper. She told me to wait as she was busy. No problem. Another staff person was pinning another customer, and she said that she would help me when she was done pinning. Fine. The lady that helped me proceeded to go to the back and work on a book. Came back out to collect money, and back to the book. After about 5 - 10 minutes, she yelled from behind and said, "come back here!" The lady who was pinning was still pinning. At this point, I was being as patient as I could remember - I was about to blow. She told me to go look for it myself, she was too busy. Well, I can tell you that the clothes are sorted - by First name, on the right side. Under the letter "K", there were 7 pieces of clothing. I found it in 15s. WTF?! To finish it off, when she collected the remainder of my bill, she folded it, grabbed a bag, and said, "Please, please, I'm busy" while nodding. She was telling me she was too busy to put it in the bag. I tried to cool off about this situation. 3 months later, I'm still fuming, so I had to write this. The lady was an Asian lady, short bob, with glasses. I'm pointing this out because I wonder if she had a thing against her own kind. NEVER coming back here, and hope they infuriate more customers that will result in deserving consequences of diminished customers. read more

If I could give Zero Stars, I would!!! I am Beyond UPSET! I had taken 3 articles of clothing in, 2 had major alteration and one was just a dress that needed a zipper replaced, which cost $50 by the way!! I told them NOT to rush as the clothing is Burberry and I had spent a lot of money on them and did not want them to mess it up. They tell me a week and half (10days) it will all be done. I said sure and paid $175 for everything. I come back on the scheduled date and lo and behold, NOTHING was done!!!! Not even one stitch was put into anything! I got the excuse that some of the seamstresses were of holidays and there were 4 other peoples clothes in line in front of mine. OK, if that's the case then why even take my clothes and give me that completion date, give me a later date!!! It has now been a MONTH and I still haven't gotten a call about my clothes!! I went back to see if my clothes were done(2 more weeks later for a total of a month) and she says that my clothes were done the next day after I had left the first time 2 week prior... I say, "ok? So why didn't I get a call"? Her response was that I left before she could tell me. BULLSHIT!!! (sorry for my colourful language) I then repeated what she had told me right before I left the weeks prior. I said "I hope my clothes will be done in 2 more weeks as I need them by August" She then said "oh for sure they will be done by then and we have your number and we'll give you a call" Once I repeated what she had said to me, she had nothing to say because I caught her in a lie. Unbelievable!! I got no phone call and apparently, everything was done the day after the original scheduled date!! Which I find very hard to believe!! They are liers and worst of all they lie right to your face! DO NOT take clothes here if you are in a rush to get them or to even have anything done by the expected date, it will not happen!!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS TAILOR SHOP. I brought in a bridesmaid dress to be altered - my timeline was tight as the dress had arrived shortly before the wedding. The dress was to be fitted at the top to the waist below which it was flowy, but it was too big on me from the waist up. When I went in I tried on the dress for the woman working the desk and she said they could fix the top by taking in the shoulders at the top as the torso was too long. Knowing nothing about tailoring I accepted that this would make the dress fit me. They said it would take 10 DAYS to do that one alteration (quite a long time in my experience as any alterations I have gotten in the past take 1-3 days). They charged $65. When I got the dress back it was right before the wedding so I did not have time to get it fixed before (since it took so long). The dress still did not fit me and it honestly looked to me like nothing had been changed at all. So I got a dress that didn't fit me the same as before, late, for $65, that I would have to wear as is for the wedding. They advised that if anything was wrong I would have 7 days to come back in after getting it back. I called to speak with the owner to get my money back because I don't need the dress anymore as the wedding has passed, and I did not see any alteration in the dress. He advised that he would not give me any money back and I could come get it fixed, and was not friendly or understanding AT ALL. He actually LAUGHED at me over the phone at my annoyance of not being able to do anything about the $65 I just gave him for free. I told him I don't need the dress anymore and his seamstress didn't do anything at all... he said their policy is no refunds EVER. I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS TAILOR. They said yes, I left to go the the item to embroider, and by the time I got back, the embroiderer had left! We came to an agreement where I could come by the next morning on my way to work to pick the item up... And here it is the next morning, at the agreed upon time, and lo and behold the not only is there nobody there, but I can see my item on the counter, with the embroidery still to be done! This isn't the first time I've been burned by these people... But it's the last. Let your dollars speak for themselves and take your business elsewhere. read more

The only good thing about this place, its its location! I had 2 dresses hemmed and they both came unstiched on the plane or o my way to the airport! Cost me additional 15$ each to have my dry cleaners restitch them! Just today went to pick up 2 blazers that i paid 100$ each to have the sleeves shorten.( it took 2 weeks) The ignorant, unknowldegeable workers pinned them wrong and ended with one sleeve way longer than the other! Overpriced for embroidery work. Went for a hem on a dress - no special hem, no special fabric and charged me $80 - total ripoff ! Just because a customer needs it within a few days doesn't mean you have to rip them off . If you need embroidery or sewing work done, i suggest going to a local seamstress and not these commercial-type places like Tailor's Choice who overcharge you for work that is not even top notch quality. read more

This location lacks the integrity to get the job done. Pants that were prepaid and left for a week, and were promised for Thursday, were not done today. (4 days later) I was told that they were "figuring out the best way to do them". Originally my girlfriend wanted a dress altered, we came in on a Thursday and needed it done by Sunday. I know it was already short notice, but the lady at the counter (very nice lady) said it would be at least a week, a week? That seems a little long just to altar a dress, anyways we were frustrated as it is and forgot that idea, we didn't have a week to wait. We then decided to get a custom item from the shop and have some words stitched on it for an upcoming gift for a family member, let me tell you, this was way more frustrating then the dress. We asked the lady if she could rush this for Friday as we were in quite a bind so the lady says yes, by 4pm Friday it should be done. Next day we get there around 430pm I walk in and nothing was even done, item still hasn't left the back of the shop, so I gave them the Benefit of the doubt and decided to go run some errands while she asked to come back at 530. So I wait a little longer just to be on the safe side and headed back to Tailors Choice at around 8.... Oh man, I get there and the words we wanted stitched on weren't even correct!! Two sheets of papers stating what we wanted (which they wrote themselves) stitched clear as day and mr. Stitch still seemed to screw that up.. After telling them we needed this as promised she got the guy to come back and redo the work it was 930 Friday by the time we had this all packaged up and ready to go. Anyways, the lady (possibly the owner) were very friendly, but the customer service is lacking, they just seem to smile it off like its no big deal. When people go into a place like this it's usually because it's for a upcoming event or just something you don't have time to do yourself. Either hire more people or hire people who pay attention. If I could give it negative stars I would. I did not take heed to other reviews as I should have. I WARN YOU DO NOT GO HERE!!! Unfortunately Sticthy Lizard no longer does one offs and referred me to this location. I came in on a Friday to have a blanket embroidered. I chose the font, size, colour and paid. I inquired if the first letter could be exaggerated in size. The lady taking my order stated she would ask and they would let me know. I was told I could pick it up at 4pm on Monday and would be called ahead if any issues. I contacted the store at 2:15pm on Monday to follow up and check the status of the blanket. I was told it would be ready for 4pm. I received a missed call from the store at 3:54pm and figured it was the store calling me to advise the blanket was ready. I reached the store minutes to 6pm. The lady on staff was struggling to find my blanket and kept telling me she didn't see it. I pointed out that I thought it was in the bag right over her head. She gave me permission to come around the counter which I found the blanket almost immediately. The lady on staff then advised that it wasn't done based on where it was found. I took the blanket out of he bag and low and behold no embroidery. My first reaction was that I laughed. There was a young lady and a man in the store and honestly I didn't want to cause a scene and be the " angry black lady"...I really thought I was being punked. I then let her know she needed to call the manager. She stated she couldn't as he's now at home. I then questioned her as to what's she going to do then. I'm guessing at that point my logic clicked as she said she was going to call the manager. She called the manager and while on the phone she started repeating what was being told to her. That "they called me and got no answer and that the largest font they can do on the material is "1" " Once again I had to restrain myself. Mind you I had already called ahead on Friday before coming in, came in on Friday, paid for 2" font and specifically requested that I be contacted. For heavens sake the lady even wrote it on the note she pinned to the centre of the blanket where it was to be embroidered. I have the letter as proof! I even called at 2:15pm!! I asked the lady " look at it from my side as a customer. You called me at 3:54pm about the font which is 6 minutes prior to me picking it up. Does that sound right to you?" She looked at me with this " I can't be bothered attitude like I was wrong for being upset. I responded that utter bullshit. I'm guessing the word bullshit lit a fire under her ass as she stated she didn't feel like she should help me because I'd cursed (LMAO) as if she was helping to begin with. She stated that they don't know until right before they do the embroidery. So in other words my blanket was touched from Friday up until 3:54pm on the Monday...6 minutes before pick up!!! I looked at her and asked her if she thought what she just said really made sense and sounded right to her. She looked me dead in my face and asked me what did I want to do shoot her?!??? I was INSTANTLY OFFENDED!! Out of all things for her to say. I immediately asked her why would she say that and that I never threathend her in any was. She stated it's because I was yelling. Which I wasn't. My voice was a higher octave but definatley not yelling, to make matters worse I would have all rights to yell at them moment. I then asked to have it done first thing in the morning. I mean if they can embroider in 6mins (remember calling me 3:54pm for a 4pm pick up) why can't I have my blanket ready for 9:30 am the next day, 30mins after opening? I was told I can only pick up at 4pm on the Tuesday. As in Valentine's Day Tuesday....the blanket was intended to be a part of a gift basket...being that I make custom gift baskets. This was a first time order for a big client. They have literally f---ked me over. She gave me a refund which doesn't solve anything. Am I supposed to refund my client too? Had them stitch 2 patches on 2 hockey jerseys. I had pinned them on before dropping them off so they'd be stitched in the spot I wanted. I needed them the next day and was charged $14 each. Thought it steep but was in a bind. When I picked the jerseys up, one was stitched on crooked. I asked them to fix it. They said they'd need 30 mins. After a bite to eat, I returned to pick it up -- and it was still crooked -- they hadn't done anything to it as it was still folded the way I left it. Waste of time and money. read more

It was also not ready when it was supposed to be as was written on the invoice. Paid 27.99 per Christmas stocking to get names personalized on them. Crazy price and still took 1 week turn around. No one paid any attention to me in the store while I guessed what I needed....Staff seemed disinterested and busy. They charged me a head of time. For the price i paid, I was disappointed with the result. The font is too small for the stocking and sloppily done. No one could even tell what they said. I had to cut the excess fuzz from the stocking, hoping that if I cut it out of the way the embroidery would stand out better. Mommy that doesn't say my name. Tailor's Choice is literally the worst tailoring shop in all of the GTA. Unfortunately it's convenient being in Sherway but it's not even worth the hassle. The staff are completely unfriendly and sometimes down right rude. I've dropped items off before need simple alterations (straps shortened on a tank top, hemming skirt) and they told me they needed 2 WEEKS!! I thought that was kind of insane but I wasn't in a rush so I said sure. Well of course on the date listed for my pick up I went into the shop and not a single thing had been done to my clothes. Why the hell did they tell me it would be done when in 2 f@cking weeks they couldn't even be bothered to touch a single item. They weren't remotely apologetic about it either. Instead they play dumb and act all confused about why it wasn't done. Based on other reviews it seems this is a recurring issue with them. Anyway, I made a fuss (rightfully so) and they told me to come back in a few hours and my items would be done. What a huge pain in the arse. Another time, because clearly I have issues even trying to deal with this shop again, I tried to drop off a simple summer dress for hemming. I needed it completed in a couple of days. When I asked she just straight up told me no. When I further inquired she said the lady who can hem dresses isn't working those days. Umm what? Shouldn't every seamstress employed in a tailor shop be able to hem a simple dress? I told her I'd take my business elsewhere and she began to argue with me. I brought in a pair of jeans to be hemmed. $5 extra for the "European" stitching and $5 for a rush job. Six hours and $34 later I picked them up. Both hems had been shredded through the material from the tread on their sewing machine. An unprofessional and botched job for a simple hem. If you value your clothing I recommend you avoid this shop. read more

Frustrating....I use them for simple pant/jean hems as it is an easy alteration....I do not mind the fact that they over charge for it as the Sherway location is close to my office....however I will never use them again due to a complete lack of customer service....there has never been a single time when the alterations have been on time, rather I always have to come back later on to pick up the garments....so much for convenience!...today I was suppose to pick up two pairs of jeans with euro hem finish...I had dropped them off Tues, and asked for a Friday 2pm completion...the lady told me no problem the job usually only takes an hour to do, obviously very disappointed when I showed up today at 2pm only to find out yet again that the jeans had yet to be touched and were not ready. Frankly their business model is based on volume....which is great for them as you pay up front...however my time is more valuable, and I prefer to work on my schedule being the customer....not theirs! I used to go to the Sears alterations shop in Sherway, until Sears...and it....closed. I then went to Tailor's Choice. I had tried once before a few years ago but found $22 to hem a pair of jeans too expensive. Especially when I was told there would be a $5 surcharge for a rush job....FOUR days later. Four days to hem jeans is a "rush job"?? Are you kidding me?? At that time, I took the jeans and walked out, only going to Sears or Stitch It at Cloverdale Mall. Recently, out of convenience, I decided to try Tailor's Choice one more time. I had 3 pairs of lounge/pajama-type pants. Their charge for a simple hem on each...$15/pc!! What a joke. I told the woman their prices were outrageous - other places in the area I had used would charge $9 or $10 for the same job. Anyway, had them complete the job - again, out of convenience - and the job was fine. But at those prices, I don't think I'll ever be back. read more
