Do not bring high-end or complex formal wear here. I brought a $700 satin pleated black tie gown with a request to hem a few inches from the bottom. They accepted the job readily. They steamed the hem and completely ruined the pleating so the bottom of the dress is misshapen. Owner was dismissive and unapologetic when I expressed my disappointment that the bottom of the dress was ruined, offered zero solution or adjustments. Took it to another tailor who said I would need to bring it to a specialty shop that does pleat restoration to fix the issue - no time to do so before my brother's wedding. Horrible experience, I do not recommend this shop. read more

After buying a slim fit suit from Macy's for my new job at a funeral home. I needed a quick alteration for the sleeves that my cleaners wouldn't touch. They suggested I go to Joseph A. Bank for a professional tailor. Matt at Jos A. Bank was very courteous and willing to help but because it was short notice he couldn't get me a tailor before Saturday afternoon. He went above the call of duty and patched me in with the local tailor he personally uses. They agreed to do the job instantly and charged me a fair price considering the urgency. I am currently using Izey & Pinar for alterations to my wedding gown (which I bought elsewhere). I had been to two other alteration shops prior to finding them, and both shops told me that nothing could be done to let my dress out a few inches and to bustle it (since it has 6 long, intricate layers). Izey & Pinar had no issues taking on the work and assured me they could do everything I was asking for. I had my second fitting this afternoon and I left their shop feeling so excited - the work they've done so far is beautiful! Overall, the price is incredibly fair for the amount of work that needed to be done to my dress due to the amount and type of fabric. More importantly, I know my dress is in great hands. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone needing alterations. They are very professional, yet down to earth people, with a true passion and skill for what they do. Been using consistently for three or so years for minor suit alterations: sleeve length, pant width, pant length, etc. They stand by their errors and will adjust free of charge if it is their error, ie trimmed too much etc. Overall pretty solid results. My issue is with a recent job to "fit" suit jacket which involved installing some padding by shoulders as per their recommendation. Upon pickup, we agreed there was a slight "bubble" in the upper center of the jacket that was never there before. So he offered to fix it for an additional fee. My issue was less with the charge but when I was told "it's not our fault, we did not do this". I'm not a tailor, but I would garner it was an unexpected result of the work performed. So was slightly taken aback by the comment. That said, the proprietors are super friendly, but I suppose be prepared for "percentage of completion" type compensation for more complex projects, as it seems they fail to anticipate how one alteration might effect the whole. read more

I had been going to this tailor for over a year. Brought in a pair of pants with special instructions for altering which I repeated no less than 10 times. They did not follow my instructions and the mistake cannot be fixed. He was rude and insulting in his handling of the situation and, consequently, I will never go back. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone. read more

While they took in my request to have two patches removed and two put back in their place and had this next day turn around thime. However, they quoted me $10 and then charged me $20. $20 to remove to stitched patches and put two on is ridiculous! read more
