We just had a neighborhood party. We invited a good number of our friends as well to our outside…read moresummer kickoff. For adult refreshments, Indy Beer Taps setup on our front driveway. Rachel and her husband were amazing. The arrived early, setup, and was all ready before the first guest arrived. They served beer, wine and cider. They did an excellent job of making sure there was something to fit everyone's tastebuds. The address is listed as south of 465, but this service is a mobile beer trailer. We went with the 1960s Vintage Camper. If you look at my photos, you'll see the camper. But go to Indybeertaps.com and you'll see more photos. The camper was very picturesque. They setup a chalkboard with the drink selections listed. There was a wicker chair and a planter as well. These small touches went a long way to create a picture perfect memorable event. We all had a great time. They gave us excellent service. I brought a growler to fill of my favorite brew as well. Have a party, need a mobile drink truck... look no farther!

I probably called Victoria about six times in the past couple weeks just asking questions and clarifying things. Once I got into the office, another couple was getting married and we were quickly taken into the office and before we knew it we were in the ceremony, exchanging rings and down the elevator and into the car and back to the county clerk building. It was a very quick process, but it was not quick without thought and heart in it. Weird heard some of what was said in the wedding before us and it was different than what we were told, and he specifies things to the couple that's in front of them and it was a really cool experience having somebody care so much for so little compensation. All it was was $100 and they went above and beyond. A lot of other places around don't charge less than almost $200 on the lowest and so for them to be $100 less than their competition and to put so much effort into the ceremony it was a lot more than we expected. I didn't expect a ceremony whatsoever so for there to be any type of ceremony, having only spent $100 I was genuinely impressed. It's a very clean office space and there's room for guests which is pretty cool as well. He allowed us to record the event which is really cool and he played up to the camera and it was just a really cool experience and we're so happy to look back on it. The address is 320 North Meridian St. suite number 814. It's on the eighth floor of the Chamber of Commerce building downtown Indianapolis for anybody that may have trouble getting there in the future. We had went to their old location on the circle and quickly realized that it was the wrong location because Google makes it so difficult for people to change the address. Other than that, the most seamless, an easy part of getting married was with Peter and everything in that building. If you're dressed nicely, people will congratulate you and just assume that you're getting married I guess cause we got a lot of congratulations all the way in and all the way up. Make sure to listen to the advice that Peter gives you because it is truly something to listen to from a man who is happily married. I took everything to heart, and I appreciate him taking the time in the energy to put for the wisdom of a married man. All around great experience and although I will not be back, I recommend them to absolutely anyone.

Before contracting with Brad Gates Catering, my fiance and i spoke to several local caterers both preferred and not preferred by our venue, the Indianapolis Art Center. Brad Gates Catering is a preferred vendor for the IAC and came highly recommended by the staff at IAC. From the first email, to pricing, to the contract and payment options, BGC has provided an easy, stress-less and smooth process. Meggin was very responsive and proactive when working with us and our fixed budget. We didn't want to cut quality while cutting cost, and Meggin understood that and was able to put together a menu that not only meets our budgetary needs, but also our tastes. She is on the ball with all the nuances behind planning and executing a wedding reception dinner so she's been a huge help and resource when it comes to managing and making decisions around things like kids menu, buffet set-up and the like. Meggin was able to make adjustments to our proposed menu and has been wonderful with fielding all my endless questions as I navigate through the wedding planning process. Brett walked us through the steps of how to make one of his signature cocktails during the online event, and it was so much fun to see all the steps broken down. Alcomy sells several different flavors that I can't wait to try. I had the Malibu Sunset (lemon, orange, raspberry, hibiscus, and rosemary), but you can also get Old Fashioned, Spicy Basil Margarita (umm, YUM), Blue Velvet and Blackberry Smash. The Malibu Sunset mix was perfection with gin, but I could also see it being amazing with vodka. Brett also does mixology classes, which I think sound like a blast. I could see doing something like that on zoom during COVID, but I also can't wait to book an in-person class once social distancing restrictions are eased.

We chose a Smoked Bourbon Old Fashioned (lots of bourbon enthusiasts here) and a Mai Tai (for a few of us that aren't). The Mai Tai will be a staple drink in our house going forward (I'm not the bourbon person). The best I've ever had!!! We all learned something new about making cocktails.
