It also included queso, cilantro-lime rice, fajita vegetables, cilantro-lime sour cream, guacamole, flour tortillas, and taco chips, along with other sauces and salsas. This menu was perfect for our vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free guests, too. We had quite a few leftovers, which we froze for easy summer meals (no leftover shrimp!!). The setup and serving team were great and kept the buffet well stocked. After booking Nameless Catering for the wedding, we decided to use them for the rehearsal dinner (also at Lizton Lodge) and chose their Signature Pasta menu. Again, this was the perfect choice. Though the per-person price seemed a bit high at first (though quite competitive), the quality and quantity of the food and the paper products made the cost worth it. First of all I did not have to pay for the room that I used for the small gathering held for my father's brother and sisters to come together after my father's funeral. The Loves were aware of the passing of my father as well as the passing of my mother in March 2020 and that there passing was less than a year apart. The Loves generously offered the use of one of their event room to me free of charge. When they allowed me to bring a few of my father's family together it meant the world to me. With that being said they gave me complete control of the heat which I had set at 70 degrees however I didn't have the heat on in the hallway leading outside. As that being the case when the door was left open a slight draft came into the room until the door was closed. As for the soap dispenser in the men's bathroom it was working just fine in the beginning so at some point it must have gotten broken and it wasn't brought to my attention if it had been it would have been taken care of right away because the Loves were just a phone call away and ready to assist in any way they could. As for the parking lot not being plowed Chris helped me to clear out 25 parking spaces with shovels which he did not have to do but his loving and caring heart promoted him to do so without hesitation and they were not being paid for anything. Pipers at the Marott was not even on my radar, when initially searching for venues for a wedding. I was looking for something upscale, classy, and looked vintage. I recently moved to Indianapolis and happen to be driving by one day. I noticed that this beautiful, twin brick building mentioned it provided catering services and had to inquire. Pipers had everything I was looking for, and the best part of it all, it came with Ashley, the sales & catering manager. She really was incredible. She was very fast to respond to all emails I sent and helped me through the (very emotional) process of planning my own wedding. With her help, I felt confident that I didn't need to hire a full-time planner because she was so on top of it. Pipers has in-house catering, the venue, service, and will provide dessert. It's a take and bake, so you pick up the day before Thanksgiving (we picked up at Irvington Sahm's) and then you heat up the next day and they give you easy instructions to do so. It was a nice social activity that also allowed moments of quiet to focus on your piece. I find this dynamic kind of nice because I'm not one to talk endlessly even when I'm with my friends. They have tons of pieces to choose from, ranging in price and size, so you can make this activity as much as you want to get out of it. There's no studio fee, so glazes and kiln services are included with your price. They have just about all the colors of glaze, which have a display on the wall by the glaze bottles. The staff are all very friendly, Brooke and Fernando were especially attentive to us throughout the evening. They made sure to help keep our workspace tidy and helped with some glazing and artistic touches. Importantly, we never felt rushed with the process, which helped us feel like we could make something we're proud of. They also have some glass fusing stuff as well, so you can make some kinds of mosaic glass lamp shades (or at least that's what was shown throughout the space). I'm curious how that's priced, because that would be another cool outing! Pottery pieces take about a week to be fired in the kiln, so I don't have my masterpiece back yet. I'm very excited to receive it! They also provide shipping, so if you're a little further away, you can still get your piece. I'm sure I'll be back again before too long!

There's a lot of construction. This is largely a space for special events. The Willows largely takes up this entire area and includes multiple event options including a ballroom: reception building, a lodge for receptions, a garden, a ballroom for ceremonies, and a lodge ceremony space. The lodge area is actually my favorite area, though I've yet to actually attend an event there. I've now attended two events inside the Ballroom building, a decent-sized building right on Spirit Lake (actually everything is right on Spirit Lake). It has a classic beauty and can be set up for everything from parties to special events to speaking engagements or conferences. The last event I attended here, just a couple weeks ago, had (I believe) 500 in attendance sitting around tables. It was packed - so, I'm guessing any more than that would be unreasonable. This particular event actually had back-to-back events with about a 30-45 minute period between them. So, kudos to the staff here for doing a really quick changeover. The first event I attended here was also catered, a definite option here. I found the food solid (I for the life of me can't remember exactly what was served). I recall thinking it was in the 4-star range. Truthfully, I thought I had done a review after that event but apparently had not. The Willows utilizes Crystal Catering (which they own) for its catering. This facility is run by the same team behind Holliday Park, Crystal Catering, Indiana Roof Ballroom, and The Crane Bay Event Center. Accessing The Willows is fairly simple since it's right on Westfield Boulevard. They have two large parking lots on both sides of their ballroom building. The lodge section is farther to the right. There's a row of accessible parking to the right side of the ballroom building, though the spots are shy of true ADA. If there's a place where The Willows falls short, and it nearly led me to drop it to a 3-star, it's in true accessibility. It's simply not truly accessible and not even particularly wheelchair friendly. There's a significant incline to get up to the door. While you could be dropped off at the front door, if you're the one doing the driving (as I would be) that's not feasible. There is a curb cut, however, so you can at least get on the sidewalk. The double-sided doorway entry is a tad heavy, though during events there tends to be folks around to help out. I also had some issues with the restroom in the ballroom building. In short, if you're a person with a disability or you know you have one in your party I recommend having conversations up front with The Willows. They are, in fact, good at working with people and sometimes pre-planning helps. This is just not a place where I would simply "show up." I will also note that both events I attended here had audio issues. While audio issues can be caused by a wide variety of things, it's a bit of a caution to me that 2 of 2 events had them at one facility. Both times, they impacted the event from an attendee's perspective. The setting here is beautiful, the lake wonderful, the garden an ideal space for weddings, and the ballroom an idea spot for chic, classy events. The lodge can be more laid back or classy. There's much to love here, but there are some accessibility concerns and some little glitchy things that keep The Willows from truly being a 5-star experience. The little things matter, for example even in researching for this review I noted there's a couple dead pages on their website...again, details matter if you want to serve up an impeccable, classy experience. I would easily return here, though as a person with a disability myself I know to plan ahead and be sure to work through the audio in advance to ensure a spotless experience is had by all.

Very large and clean men's room, with lots of "stations". Each toilet had its own cubicle with closing door, but there were no privacy dividers between the urinals. The chairs were nicely padded, and had springy backs. Very good quality, that you could sit on for hours. They were not like "conference room" chairs at all. They have rectangular tables and circular tables. Tonight's event was for prospective bride/groom customers to check out the venue and taste the menu, and if they booked a catered event, they got credit for the cost of the evening's buffet. But since I'm not getting married any time soon, I just paid outright for the buffet. And it was great. Really good quality multi-ingredient salad, and what seemed like home-made raspberry vinagrette dressing. I liked it so much I did not even try the white creamy salad dressing. Dinner rolls were good, not industrial-tasting stuff out of a bag. Veggies were good. New red potatoes, scallopped potatoes, corn, green beans, and a very light and well seasoned vegetable medley. Nothing tasted canned. Meat dishes were lemon chicken, chicken marsala, roast pork loin, fried chicken, and prime rib. The prime rib was excellent! My favorite was the lemon chicken. They didn't have the chocolate fountain (chocolate fondue sort of thign) there this evening, but I've seen it at previous events and it's something that was well appreciated by the guests whenever I've seen it. The two brides-to-be at my table were very complimentary of Malone's, and it sounded like they were going to use Malone's services.

Their food is good! I personally have had their fried chicken and their lemon-pepper grilled chicken. Both were juicy and the lemon-pepper seasoning/sauce was not overpowering, but added the perfect compliment to the chicken. Their green beans were fantastic, seasoned and not soggy, but still had flavor inside and out. The side dishes were good as well and no one ever had to wait for the buffet to be refilled or the drink fountain to be replenished. I have recommended them to several people but I think the best compliment is the largest employer in Indiana uses them every year without a doubt for their yearly barbecue. Bonus: They donate leftover food to the local homeless shelter (at least they did in 2003) so kudos to a company that does not waste!
