It made me feel very comfortable with her and Atlas. We discussed in detail his current training, my goals, and concerns and worries I had, etc. She was very thorough and made sure to keep us updated on his progress while we were away. We ended up going out of town for 10 days and I was unsure who I could trust with our corgi as she is still a work in progress. We decided to board and train her with Mia. While our corgi will always be a unique challenge , I am now much more confident in how to work with her. Mias approach to training truly takes into account the dogs personality and also family dynamic. I'm thankful we found her . She is also available to help post training. No board in train will ever "fix" your dog so as new issues arrive in so thankful to have Mia as a resource to help me problem solve!

Our three-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever was very reactive and needed more direction and help with calming down. Before Alyssa, we had worked with at least four other trainers and we never saw any improvements until working with her. Her step-by-step videos are extremely helpful and the fact that you can do things on your own time and pace are great! It only takes 10-15 minutes a day and the results are amazing. Over the years, we have constantly shared what we learned with fellow dog owners and have recommended her services. Alyssa set us up with the tools for success so we could have an amazing life with our pack member! We worked hard with our husky Meeka to the point we taker her to restaurants, go camping / hiking / biking and even go on long car rides 6+ hours with few issues! We have even heard from strangers, daycare facilities and even Banfield that Meeka is so well behaved even when we're not there! I am so glad we decided to work with Alyssa because Meeka was honestly a rambunctious, overly excited and extremely curious puppy. The early months were difficult and many said she was a trainer's dog. Although my husband and I had never had a dog previously, we wanted Meeka to be part of our active lifestyle and were willing to do the work so we did not let that deter us! It took months of training to set up a solid foundation and years of continued positive reinforcement and training to maintain a consistent environment, but it was well worth it. We've been able to slowly expand her boundaries from needing to be in a crate when home alone, to being free to roam certain areas of the house without any worries! Alyssa is SO knowledgeable, genuinely cares, is extremely patient and is both professional and personable. She maintains a calm demeanor under every circumstance and we wouldn't have the sanity and calm household we have today without having worked with Alyssa! Also, immediately following the Pug-walks with Kay, my Louigi was not out of breath, even though the weather was very sunny and hot (Pugs have a definite tendency of overheating). Kay consciously followed my exact directions, in order to find the perfect location, for my Pug to have a nice and shady route, every time. Also, Kay acknowledged the items of concern, which I had emailed to her, immediately prior to the initial scheduled dog-walk (at my front-door). Thank you very much, Kay!!! I found Kay online and she offered to do a free meet & greet to make sure we're compatible. Bandit is a reactive dog on a leash, which means he lunges and whines/barks at other dogs on walks. It was really hard for me to find a walker that could take on all 60lbs (lean mass) of him. It was doggy love at first sight, he was super excited to meet her and was really chill with us chatting. I quickly schedule a dog walk for the next morning. Bandit had loads of fun on his dog walk and he was pretty much pooped afterward. Like bro! It was only 30 mins. Kay is definitely now our regular dog walker.

After filling out a consultation form, I got in touch with Amanda, I loved her energy from the get go so we decided to go with Sit's Getting Real (awesome name btw). We did the puppy/leash manner course with them. We first started with pretty simple commands like "sit", "down", "wait", and transitioned into more advanced things like "with me," and "this way" which were foundation to leash walking manners. We also learned whole bunch of other practical commands that we started to incorporate into our daily routine, one of them being 'touch'. We also had the hardest time getting our puppy Stormie to sit from laying/down position, which Tomas showed us with the foot scoot method, this was not mentioned in any of the videos or articles I've searched for online. Amanda, Tomas, and Chante (and other trainers who we didn't have the pleasure to get acquainted with and interact more) blew our minds each training session with wealth of their knowledge, and our class was full of different dogs with different spectrum of temperaments. In addition to group class, they will stop by and assess individual dog's needs and temperament and offer advice one on one. I liked how they focus on getting your dog to remain NEUTRAL by using treats and redirection, and by providing highly controlled environment, it's great way to leash train your dog who wants to greet everyone and every dog! Oh, and most important part; they're not training your dog, they're training YOU to train your dog and set you up to be a successful dog owner! One of the dogs, Mr. Phil, who could not even be NEAR other dogs from the beginning of the class due to his reactivity, he was able to walk past other dogs and join the class, and we even took a group photo together! If that's not a testament to their knowledge, professionalism, and skill, I don't know what is! We enjoyed the class so much that 1st week where we didn't have class, me and my girlfriend were saying how much we missed going to their classes. We'll definitely see them again in future agility training course or private training for sure!

My dog, Mr. Phil, is very…read moredog reactive, and when we started the class he couldn't even be within 100 yards of the other dogs. I didn't think a group class would work for him at all, but that didn't phase the trainers even a little. The instructors were so patient and helpful. When we needed to be far away from the group, they came out to us to make sure we didn't miss instructions and gave us specific techniques that actually worked for Phil, instead of trying to force him into something he wasn't ready for. Over the five weeks, he made way more progress than I expected, and by the end he was able to join the class, which still kind of blows my mind. I also want to shout out Amanda, who did an earlier one-on-one session with us and encouraged us to try the class. I really didn't think Phil would be appropriate for a group setting because of how reactive he is, but she was right, and I'm so glad we did it. The positive training approach helped him be less panicky around other dogs and helped me feel more confident training him. If you have a reactive dog or feel nervous about group classes, I really can't recommend Sit's Gettin' Real enough. They're kind, supportive, and truly meet you and your pup where you're at.

I have tried to reach out to someone about getting a new trainer but now my phone calls are being ignored, so after spending almost $4,000 dollars, I would highly advise to get a better company if you need assistance in training your dog or puppy or better yet, watching Youtube videos for free instead wasting my money on a company like this. However when we brought him home, he was so excited and beyond controllable that it was very overwhelming for us. More importantly, our other dog was not fond of his lack of boundaries and lack of appreciation of her personal space and we were terrified of a bad outcome. Not knowing what to do as we felt very unsafe with our other dog, we took Scooter back to the Humane Society with heavy heavy hearts. Ridden with guilt and heartbroken, we were determined to figure out a way to safely bring Scooter back into our home. I came across Tori and Daniel on Thumbtack while searching for dog trainers, and they got back to me within 30 minutes, on a Saturday! Daniel did a phone consultation with us and within the next hour, met us at the Humane Society so we could re-adopt Scooter and get him into their training program. Tori and Daniel housed Scooter in their home for 2 weeks, where he learned proper social skills, boundary recognition, and a series of commands. Scooter was exposed to a number of other dogs and came back to us truly transformed. While his excitable personality is still ever present, Scooter learned the right set of skills to safely integrate back into our home with our other dog. I can't say enough great things about Daniel and Tori. We got daily updates and photos of our baby, and felt so confident that he was in good hands. I loved that he lived with them in their home rather than be in a kennel of sorts. Their compassion in meeting us at the pound and helping us rescue him in the blink of an eye is something we will never forget.
