So very relaxing! One of the best massages I have had. Glad I signed up for the longer session. Highly recommended!

Short version: Judy gave me the best massage of my entire life. Long version: It's all in the details with this massage. I got a 50 minute massage, and Judy made sure to ask what I felt comfortable with beforehand and if I had any problem areas. During the massage I got warm pillows on my back, a heated massage bed, and when it was time to be on my stomach, something to cover my eyes, a warm neck pillow, AND the bed was adjusted for maximum comfort. All that being said, Judy used pressure in ways that got the knots out but didn't make me want to cry. She used multiple techniques (fingers/arm/etc??) at the same time so there were different pressures and feels as the massage went on. I have no idea how to explain it but she has magic hands! Trust me! read more

I love Tailored Relaxation! Between my husband and I, we have had Monica, Judy, and Reggie for massage services and they are all amazing. We have been coming here for years and each time I walk out I feel like a new person. Ambiance is wonderful and parking is easy. read more

The massage I had by the owner was decent, but unfortunately, she thinks she is a physical therapist & actually caused me long-term pain & tingling after the massage that I didn't have going into it. It's been awhile since I had the massage & I still suffer from her "expertise" ! I would say to her to stay in your lane. It's also pricey for a small cramped office. Did I mention the masseuse came a 1/2hr late? I had to wait outside her office. I should've left . . . read more

I always prefer supporting small business over corporate and larger businesses. Therefore that's why we picked Tailored Relaxation in the because sometimes larger businesses tend to be less customer oriented. To my extreme disappointment, it was not the case here. I can attest that my friend (whom was in the same room) was not asked how the experience was during her massage. It was so painful during one point I made a comment, however things did not change. I also attempted to contact the owner before writing a review to give them a chance to resolve it because this is a small business and I really did not want to list a bad rating. As you all can see, the owner still insisted in the comment that it was the customers fault for discrepancies in the fine print despite the voucher saying that the merchant should honor the terms of the voucher in the image provided below. We will never be returning to tailored relaxation and will not recommend this place. There are plenty of other small businesses in the area to support. read more

Tailored Relaxation - Massage Therapy Near Me - Kensington, Maryland

I visited Tailor Relaxation (TR) last week and received excellent service. The spa was very clean and it was evident that there are routine sanitization cycles happening, so I felt safe. I am huge on cleanliness practices and they checked all the boxes. The service I received was the new CBD body scrub and it was a life changing experience. I had never had a scrub before and now I will never have a massage without one. Not only was my skin smooth but the overall experience was relaxing. I forgot about all the worries outside of this spa walls and just enjoyed the moment. I highly recommend!!!!!!! Treat yourself, your body and mind will thank you for it. read more

I was having some back and neck pains and looked for a place to get a good massage before going into work. It was really one of the best massages I've ever had. Monica is very knowledgeable and intuitive when doing the massage. I feel so much better than I did earlier today. The facility is clean, comfortable and smells great. I will definitely be back. She even gave me nice snacks at the end . I'm super happy with my service. read more

I almost never review things but was so impressed by my massage with Elisa that I needed to sing her praises. My husband bought me a 75 min massage as a gift and chose this place based on a couple good reviews he had seen. Though we live nearby, Ive never noticed the spot but GPS brought me right to it. The studio is in a big brick office building with a large parking lot, so points right away for not having to worry about finding a spot or paying a meter. I arrived 10 minutes early, but Elisa was there and opened the door right away. She told me she had been reading my intake form (a huge plus because I swear some therapists don't). I noticed right away the cozy feel of the place, which was a contrast to the ugly building it is in. It was clear that someone paid attention to detail when setting it up. Elisa led me to my room and gave me time to undress. The massage table was nicely made up and there were extra hair ties and combs on a small table, along with a jewelry tray. The bed was also already heated and I was super comfy before we even started the massage. Elisa came in, covered my eyes with a mask, and got to work. It was immediately clear that she is very knowledgeable and skilled in her trade. She used a good amount of pressure and felt her way to the problem areas largely without me directing her. Though I had paid for a regular massage, she used a number of deep tissue techniques since she recognized quickly that's what I really needed. She made sure to check in to make sure she wasn't pushing too hard (she wasn't - I like and need a lot of pressure) and asked a few questions just to be sure she was gravitating to the right problem areas (she was). When she finished, I noticed a significant difference in my back and neck. And though my legs probably need more work, the tension is definitely lessened. Elisa spent another few minutes with me afterward and suggested some stretches to help me work the area on my own. She was so friendly and professional, and most importantly a truly skilled massage therapist. I would recommend her to anyone, and especially to people like me who need actual work done. I'll definitely be going back! read more

My husband bought me a gift certificate in early July. Three booked appointments, all cancelled by Tailored Relaxation. My appointment that had been booked for today was canceled yesterday evening. No explanation. Big surprise to see on their website the time I had booked is now available. Will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Wow - Monica is magic! I have been struggling to find a great massage since my usual massage therapist moved out of the area, and I have finally found it! My upper back and shoulders is my biggest problem area, and I always ask massage therapists to focus on that section, devoting most of the time to it. It never really happens. When I ask Monica to spend 90% of the massage on that area, however, that is exactly what she does. AND DOES IT SO WELL. She understands the human body and intuitively knows what you need. I have this one target problem spot that I almost considered marking with a sharpie for past massage therapists who couldn't find it -- Monica pinpointed it immediately without me even mentioning it. I cannot say enough good things about her technique -- she just gets it. You never want it to end. Monica is a calming presence, and checks in to make sure the pressure is ok but otherwise lets you peacefully enjoy the soothing experience. There is gentle music playing, and you are offered several different options for aromatherapy scents if you want it. There is also a tray with iced lemon water and chocolate in the room for you. The prices are fair, and there is almost always a special. Monica even told me about a special I didn't know about when I was about to pay full price -- that is some really great customer service. This is definitely my new spot. read more

This place is in a weird location and they charged me for a full massage even though they are only supposed to charge half for a broken appointment. The only reason I broke it was because of how creepy their location was. read more

LOVE this place! Very intimate and highly tailored to the client. Great ambiance. I feel like they always listen to exactly what I need.

Loved this place! Conveniently located in Kensington. The therapist read my intake form and tailored the massage to my needs. She checked in regularly and it was much better than massages I have had a pricier spas. Will be back! read more

I absolutely love this quaint, cozy spot! I felt relaxed the moment I walked in. No blaring lights and the music was soft and immediately put me at ease. The spa was clean and smelled amazing! What can I say about Monica?! She knows her stuff!! I loved how knowledgeable she is. I appreciated that she explained certain aspects of her techniques, and she actually gave my options regarding what essential oils I preferred. Did she beat me up badly? She sure did, but my body needed it and she knew it! I felt amazing when I got off the massage table and I will most certainly be back for more :-) read more

There is wonderful and then there is Tailored Relaxation. I have been rescued my Monica for years and lost touch when I moved. I was thrilled to return and locate her again. The relaxation of her team and venue begins when I park my car in the lot and walk toward the establishment -- knowing the bounty that awaits once inside. The personal knowledge of clients, the skills and infusion of caring and health, the tone of the voices and music, all combine to a choir of comfort and harmony. No pain remains by the time Monica is complete, muscle awake like never before, the mind dances merrily. Of course, I wish I could fall asleep here and then wake up and start with another caring session. Perhaps one day! read more

I have so many great things to say about my experience! I was able to conveniently book online, pay online, and fill out my intake paperwork online. Monica, my massage therapist, was polite, professional, and personable. It was clear she wanted me to have a great experience; she truly cared about me and it showed. I've never been a massage regular, but after my amazing massage with Monica, I didn't hesitate to sign up for the membership. Which, I will also say, was not pushed on me at all. She was happy to inform me about it when I asked, but I wasn't being up-sold or pressured. The space is clean, relaxing, and smells so good! The calm atmosphere and lovely aromas inspired me to sit back, relax and enjoy my time there; the clean facility and attentive, skilled masseuse ensured I did. I'm looking forward to next month's massage! read more

I've been here twice already and I will be back. Tailored Relaxation offers a great service at a great price. The first time I came, I used a Groupon for some Reiki bodywork. Wow! I felt so much better when I left. Everything was explained clearly. I told my husband how great my experience was and he surprised me with a gift certificate for a couples massage for Christmas. Since he had never had a massage before, he was a little nervous, but now he's a convert too. read more

Professional and THE BEST MASSAGE I have ever received! I honestly have been to many spas & this is by far the BEST massage I have ever gotten. Monica is an exceptional practitioner! I went there using an Amazon Local discount Voucher & was treated like a regular paying customer! I requested firm pressure & she was on the money, was in tune with what areas I needed focus on (shoulder/neck area) and I felt great upon the conclusion of the visit!!!! read more

Elisa T. is superb! I recently joined as a member and have had 4 sessions with her to work out stress-related tension. She is spot on with feeling the knots and working them out. She's a true professional. The establishment is in a quiet area with lots of parking (that's important for me to reduce my stress). Monica, the owner and a former nurse, is very nice and efficient in getting back to me with any questions. I highly recommend TailoredRelaxation. read more

I have been to many different massage therapists before discovering Tailored Relaxation and none came close to the experience I had here. It was convenient to schedule and pay online as well as fill out paperwork ahead of time. Monica, my massage therapist, was knowledgeable and worked the problem areas while still making the experience comfortable and relaxing. She went over the scheduled time, making sure to address the concerns I had. The atmosphere was relaxing, and included aromatherapy was perfect. I plan on coming back regularly and will refer others to as well. read more

I had swollen Cabbage Patch Kid feet when I walked in on a hot June day for an Expectant Mommy Massage with Elisa. Her experienced massage techniques really helped reduce swelling/increase mobility in my feet and ankles, and my back felt great after the massage, too! The location is a bit odd, but the studio itself is cozy and inviting. I'd definitely return! read more

The massage was great. I was somewhat surprised at the posted recommended tipping amounts when I got out of the massage room and went to pay. Just know the promoted price is not what you're going to walk out paying if you succumb to those. read more

I originally found this locale through a living social deal...massages on alas can be mixed...but this was one of the best massages I have had...Monica was running a couple minutes late but made sure I was aware of that and gave me extra time...she really took into account what I put on my patient form (which was done via Google ahead of time). I would highly recommend her for a relaxing massage that hits all your pressure points and needs read more

I received the best Mother's Day gift to Tailored Relaxation and it was the best experience. It was my first time getting a massage and I am so glad it was here. Monica was amazing. She made me so comfortable and relaxed with her hands and conversation. I will be recommending this awesome spa to everyone I know. I can not wait to go back! read more

I had never heard of Tailored Relaxation until I saw the Amazon local deal. After reading the reviews about Monica, I figured it was worth a try. I work out regularly 5x a week, and I have been looking for a good massage therapist who can loosen me up without breaking me down too much. I bought the coupon, and after I sent an email, Monica was very responsive and worked me in just like I was a regular client. That was my first clue that she was authentic. And after just one session, I can say that Monica is one of the best. Great pressure, but not so much that I felt like my muscles were beat up. The building has convenient parking, the space is clean and relaxing, and Monica is professional and really in tune with what you need. She is engaging and has a calm, stayed presence during the massage. And her table is totally pimped out. It's heated, has an arm rest underneath it so your arms don't dangle and fall asleep, and has one of the most comfortable head rests that I have ever laid on. I'm so happy that she ran the promotion and that I discovered her and Tailored Relaxation! read more
