Though it's much more expensive than my usual haircut places, I figured I could justify the "$39 Buzz" cost since the virus buzzcut would be my last for a while. One of my maxims is that you should never let your guard down when getting a haircut from a new person. Unfortunately, I let my guard down and was taken advantage of at G2. On entry, I had to step over a dog gate since the shop doubles as a dog daycare. "I hope you like dogs" I was told as dogs jumped all over me, including on my lap. In the midst of a global pandemic, but, of course, pets are above reproach. Soon after my stylist entered the shop, actually carrying her dog, we got down to business. I doubt she washed her hands as, remember, personal animals don't count, but I ignored this and made my intentions clear. Most other shops are closed, you're going to be shut down by Friday, give me a buzz cut. I was kindly asked if I knew how short a buzz cut was, and I replied affirmatively. I then opted for the hot towel thing, knowing that this was definitely included in the $39. I was really stressed out and was looking forward to relaxing for at least one full minute. Unfortunately, as soon as I tilted back, dogs started sticking their wet noses around the cuffs of my pants. This went on continuously. The music playing overhead in the shop, which was actually quite nice, clashed with a totally different channel played in close proximity to my right ear. At some point, the miniature dogs stopped nosing me, and instead had a brawl in the center of the shop floor. I was happy when the haircut started. I had requested a buzz and the stylist suggested that I should fade it. Sure, I said. Of course a $39 buzzcut should be faded--this requires no further explanation. Ten minutes later, I was all done and the cut was totally acceptable (though no razor edging, which I realized later). I was kind of preoccupied with the fact that this was the first time I had clearly seen my hairline since 2014 and my 401k is down by 30% but I snapped out of it and shuffled over to the cash register. When I was rung up she told me that the cut would cost $59--the most expensive haircut I had ever received. I replied that the website said the buzz was $39. She replied, matter-of-factly, that that was without a fade. It was delivered in a way that she genuinely seemed to believe that the way things had transpired was normal. When a new customer comes into your shop looking for a buzz, this isn't a sneaky upsell you should try to make. You should be honest and say "a buzz with the fade I'm suggesting will cost $20 extra, is that okay?" Simply, the shop atmosphere was stress-inducing, I wasn't treated properly, and I ended up paying three times as much as a buzz cut should cost. But at least they sanitized the pens.

I expressed the last couple times I am trying to grow my hair out to make the most of my hair type. At my most recent appointment, I made repeat comments along the lines of "im just looking for a trim to clean it up while i'm letting it grow out" and the stylist chopped off most of my curls in a weird way making it hard to style and losing my progress. At a salon of this price point how often to I have to say "when" as they're cutting and clipping away? Also agree w recent post, styling products were Walmart quality. Save your money and support other salons, i'll be putting my hat on and looking elsewhere.

I asked for a (very) low fade with a reference and a picture, and I walked out with a clear high fade (if it can even be called a fade) in a way that I can't honestly understand. Reference picture and result, both of myself, are attached below. I voiced my concerns to her immediately at the moment and just like my haircut, she also ignored that and basically told me that it doesn't look too bad and it is what it is. I paid the nearly $70 for this. The owner tried to be helpful after I left and told me she would offer a refund through the phone. That was 4 whole months ago, and she still has not followed through to add more insult to injury and frustration. I absolute hate writing a bad review for any business, but this is just ridiculous.

However the customer service was sorely lacking. A membership is a different model and certainly a person's hair grows at differing rates. So when my stylist said let's not cut your hair today that was fine. A few weeks later I recieved a text message stating my appointment for that day was changed. This has happened before so I presumed something happened. Typically they reach out but I can't imagine a system errant sending a text for no reason. After I was called for being late to the original appointment time I was confused and spoke with Cassie from the front desk. She was dismissive and disrespectful when I merely tried explaining facts. When confronted her response was she was only being disrespectful because she felt I was being disrespectful to her. A wild thing to say considering the money I was committed to spending and I neither raised my voice, swore etc. After canceling due to her unprofessional attitude she then tried charging for services that were never rendered from the appointments mentioned above. This all could have been easily fixed by her remaining calm, allowing me to send the text, and we chalk it up to a system error. I could have rescheduled the appointment and they'd still have a client. To then even charge for an appointment missed resulting from their system error is disgusting. Thankfully I sent the proof to my band and we resolved it that way. Clearly Cassie has some maturation required for being in customer service. I've overheard her several times at the salon saying she doesn't care about things. And people should know how little they value a membership. Apparently they make less money on members per the stylist so I'm not sure why bother? Anyway go somewhere else where you'll be valued and respected as a client.
