I got my wedding dress altered at Tailor SWN, and let me tell you! It's worth every penny, she's an amazing and easy going gal to work with! I just moved to SF and my wedding as in 2 months, I was busily trying to find a seamstress and low an behold was able to make an appointment with tailor SWN! She had my dress done in a couple of weeks and I'm very happy I found her. She adjusted the straps on my dress and made a French bustle for my wedding dress :)

Dress after ( fits like glove and beautiful cap sleeves)

Sarah is a miracle worker! I was in a pinch searching for a mother of the bride dress and stumbled across one on the sale rack at Macy's -pretty material but 2 sizes too big and very unflattering sleeves. I found Sarah on Yelp, called with a desperate plea given my short timeframe (3 weeks!) and Sarah fit me in that day!! All I can say is she totally transformed the dress. It's gorgeous! She is meticulous, listens, has a quick turnaround time and reasonably priced for the level of craftsmanship. Do not hesitate to trust her with your project. Thank you Sarah!! You saved me.

Sarah somehow took what was in my head and made it real. I found Sarah on Yelp when I was looking for someone to make my wedding gown. We started working together on my wedding dress when I wasn't sure if we would have something to start from or if we'd be working from scratch. She drew up beautiful options that all could have worked wonderfully, but once I had an Indian outfit to work from, we picked a design together and it became everything I ever hoped for. She ended up taking the skirt and attaching it to an original bodice. As the beaded skirt was incredibly heavy, she had to create an architecture within the bodice that would allow it to be held up comfortably. She also created the detachable sash/train/shawl that clicked the connection between East and West into place. I had always wanted my dress to be Western, but look like a sari and that's what she managed to make. What I loved about the experience was how clear she made all the steps in the process, how well she communicated when I would be hearing from her next, and how she just GOT what I was looking for. I'd mention something about gold trim and she'd send me five options within a day or two. She perfectly matched the color and fabric from the original elements to create something that looked like it had always been one piece. She kept my wild imagination reined in when I started to get carried away with all the possibilities and yet she fulfilled the larger dream. That is not easy. I am so grateful for her calm, her creativity, and her technical skill.

My dress fit me like a glove on my wedding day, I received so many compliments on how well it fit me

Sarah is a miracle worker. I brought my Davids Bridal dress into her and it fit me all wrong (chest too big, weird bunching in the stomach, too big on the sides, etc) and she made it an entirely new dress (in a good way!) had my second fitting at it was slightly too tight- she fixed it in a week without hesitation. Sarah makes sure that you are fully happy with your dress before your big day and gives enough time before you wedding to make any last minute tweaks if need be. I am so excited and confident in wearing my dress now for my big day, thanks to Sarah! AND her prices are really reasonable, she lays it all out for you and explains all that she will be doing. I can't recommend her enough.

Sarah Liller is a genius! I wanted to look fierce but feminine on my wedding day and Sarah designed the most unique and quintessentially ME dress! From the very first sketch, my whole body, mind and soul screamed "Yes!" Sarah was incredibly calming and very inquisitive of my personality and needs, delivering the most elegant, unique, and personal gown that I wish I could wear to every occasion! (When will that be socially acceptable????) Every detail was perfect, from the silk one-shouldered cape (no veils for me, thanks!), to the hand appliqued french lace dripping down the tule skirt, my dress was a masterpiece that made me feel like a warrior goddess!

Sarah's work on my BHLDN dress - fits perfectly!

Sarah did my alterations for a gown I ordered from BHLDN. She was fast, efficient, and totally reasonably priced. Also easy to communicate with (via email/text) and incredibly friendly in person. The dress needed to be taken in all over, have boob-cups added, and have bustle added (I went with an American bustle). Final cost was $120, and she had it done well before when she estimated it would be finished. I only needed 1 fitting, which likely helped keep the price down. Highly recommend!

Beautiful bridesmaids dresses by Sarah Liller!

I ditto their story and feel like the wedding dress I just demanded back from her unfinished needs an exorcism. Please don't let her get her negativity on you and your dress before your wedding. She will probably be nice to you after she takes deep sighs and tells you how it's your fault, you bought the wrong dress like all the brides these days, it's too heavy, it's going to break her sewing machine, she has to charge double, and a multitude of it's your fault comments. I can't believe I paid $765 (plus a hefty $125 PREPAID consult fee) to have a simple layer shortened and then be told that I have to live with the way the dress looks. I've taken it somewhere else and they happily have told me it will be beautiful when they're done. I called her later that first day and said I was feeling kind of upset , and I said I wanted to come back and revisit it - there was going to be another consult fee. Isn't that part of what we pay for when you hire an Alterations person- Their time and advice? Seems she's only nice to you after she makes you feel bad, that's the only reason I can imagine for the positive reviews. PS my dress smelled like weird perfume when I picked it up (?!) so if you have an allergy to perfume you may want to let her know that! Ick. PPS she charges tax on her Service (which I questioned) , but you're not allowed to write Alterations in the Venmo comment. Kind of suspect.

Why I do NOT recommend Nordstrom Alteration at Corte Madera:…read more 1. They botched my new, never-worn ($598.00 LP not including tax) Rag & Bone Wood Blazer, which I requested the sleeves get shortened: - Two long (6-inch and 9-inch) scissor cuts on the back of the blazer.- - Crooked stitching is visible from the outside of the sleeves. 2. They inconvenienced me greatly with their poor planning, mistakes and lack of customer service: I accepted their lead time of three weeks with a scheduled pick-up for Friday at 5 p.m. The day before the scheduled pick-up, I called them to confirm the items would be ready the next day, on Friday at 5 p.m. They confirmed yes and acknowledged the traffic would be heavy at that time thus a standard 20-30 minute drive would be 60+ minute drive. On the day of the scheduled pick-up, and 10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time (5 p.m.), I got a call from Danielle asking if we could reschedule the pick-up because the items were not ready and they were overwhelmed, or I could wait. I told Danielle I was two exits away and had already been driving 45 minutes to get there so turning around is not an option (I will be stuck in traffic during that time) so I might as well wait. Danielle's response 'Well, we'll try to get it done by the time you arrive.' I communicated my concern about them rushing it and not doing a good job, and she said, 'Don't worry, it won't be ugly.' The botched work validated my concerns. I was stuck in the Nordstrom store for over two hours dealing with the debacle, and finally got refunded for the cost I paid for alterations and the two purchases: The Rag & Bone Wool Blazer and a dress. (I didn't want the dress, which they were still 'working on to complete' as I have now seen their shoddy work). The latest. I've asked Nordstrom if I can buy the Rag & Bone Wool Blazer elsewhere and have them reimburse me the $180 difference, which is the savings I received from Bloomingdale's on that purchase. The current retail price at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Rag & Bone, NM, and Saks is $598 (before tax), but I bought it on sale at Bloomingdale's for $418.60 (before tax), saving $180.
