Both my husband and I have gotten a few pair of pants hemmed at Tailor Needle & Thread. We recently relocated to the Schaumburg area and began our search for a good tailor and stumbled upon this business from yelp.com. We read the mixed reviews but took our chance anyways since it is close - inside the Woodfield Mall. It is $15.00 to hem a pair of pants, which I believe is on the more expensive end but still a good deal. They are very personable and remember your name each time you go in for service. I haven't had anything else done besides pants yet, but we've found our tailor - won't go anywhere else in the future! read more

I've been using TNT for about 6 years now and the service is nothing short of stellar! I use to jump from tailor to tailor but not since I met Zim. He does all my custom shirts, suits and even tailored ones I already own. Thinking the job was too small I was in a pinch and took my suit to 3 different cleaners to get pressed on the same day. I'm so so so thankful I discovered Tailor Needle & Thread for my wedding dress alterations!! Zim altered my wedding dress and did an absolutely amazing job. My dress had a lot going on - between a ballgown and an A-line silhouette, it needed to be taken in in the bust, waist, and hip areas; there was a ton of beading that had to be redone when taking it in; I wanted to change the straps to make a different back neckline; and it had a multi-layered tulle skirt that had to be hemmed and bustled. From our first meeting, Zim was extremely kind and professional and didn't think twice about the list of things I was telling him I wanted to alter. (Before I found Zim, I had gone to a different tailor in the area who made it clear she did not like my dress and challenged everything I said. Zim was the exact opposite, and I'm so grateful to him not only for his masterful tailoring but also for being so accommodating and such a joy to work with!!) I was amazed at the second fitting at how perfectly Zim had redone all the beading when taking in the bust and waist - it looked like the dress had never been touched! I had a couple more appointments to make sure all of the hemming, re-designing of the straps, and bustle were perfect. Zim is very detail-oriented, and he made sure everything was absolutely perfect. I'm so grateful to him for turning my dress into the dress of my dreams!! I highly recommend Zim for wedding needs - wedding dress/bridesmaid dress alterations and tuxes - and all other alteration needs! I had my boyfriend's coat zipper replaced by them and they put it on the wrong side. I sent the jacket to my boyfriend and didn't notice it was done wrong. I called them and told them the error they made and that the jacket was in North Carolina and I had to send it to another tailor to get done correctly. I requested my money back and they said they needed to see the jacket. I told them I had a photo and they gave me a hard time and told me that they couldn't trust that I would send them the actual photo of the actual jacket. read more

They did a great job, leaving my friend very happy with the results! About two years ago my brother needed to have his suits altered and the store he bought the suits from recommended that he go to Tailor Needle & Thread. I told him about my friend's experience and he decided to give it a try. He has been so incredibly pleased with the work they have done. I have also come here for my own clothes. I have had great experiences everytime I come to Tailor Needle and Thread. Each time I needed same day alterations after making a purchase in Woodfield Mall, within a half hour of dropping items off, they were ready for pick up. Recently, I had an important event the next morning and needed a pair of pants altered before leaving the mall. I got to Tailor, Needle & Thread just as the store closed. So I was in panic mode, but Zim, the tailor opened the store and I was still able to get 2 pair of pants altered! That level of service is rare. I will always go there and will highly recommend it to others.
