Phenomenal customer service, fantastic array of products, and Zim Dalipi is an 'old school' tailor who knows the business inside and out. He really took care of me the first time I found him (an ad hoc speculative visit as I was passing through the mall) and he went the extra yard - or the whole nine (if you count all the times I've since visited) and I've recommended friends who've used him without complaint. I think his prices are competitive and compared to what you'd find in Chicago, for an establishment in Woodfield Mall I feel he's outstanding value. read more

Both my husband and I have gotten a few pair of pants hemmed at Tailor Needle & Thread. We recently relocated to the Schaumburg area and began our search for a good tailor and stumbled upon this business from yelp.com. We read the mixed reviews but took our chance anyways since it is close - inside the Woodfield Mall. It is $15.00 to hem a pair of pants, which I believe is on the more expensive end but still a good deal. They are very personable and remember your name each time you go in for service. I haven't had anything else done besides pants yet, but we've found our tailor - won't go anywhere else in the future! read more

I've been using TNT for about 6 years now and the service is nothing short of stellar! I use to jump from tailor to tailor but not since I met Zim. He does all my custom shirts, suits and even tailored ones I already own. Thinking the job was too small I was in a pinch and took my suit to 3 different cleaners to get pressed on the same day. All of them turned me away and said "good luck getting that done on Sunday". Finally decided to bother Zim with it.....done in one hour and didn't even charge me! SUPER friendly and SUPER helpful. I'm a TNT lifer! read more

I took a dress that needed some serious alterations to Zim. He finished everything PERFECTLY in a few days. Customer for life!

I have gone to see Zim and his father for years. I have probably spent over $5,000 in tailoring work over the past 4-5 years. They are excellent and do top notch tailoring work, I would recommend them to anyone -- including all of the attorneys in my law firm. A+++ read more

Outstanding customer service my husband needed pants hemmed that night for a meeting the next day. I called 20 minutes before they were to close he waited for us and did his pants and even steamed his dress shirt after business hours had ended. He refused a tip. He's a good man hard working and we would highly recommend him! read more

Excellent tailor. Craftsmanship is always perfect. A customer for 3 years now. Tailored my jeans, dress pants, suit jackets as well as purchased custom made shirts and suits from them. Always great work and fast service. The price is right too. read more

They did a great job on a last minute hem on my bridesmaid dress. They are reasonably priced and very courteous the end result came out beautifully. The only downside is they are a bit difficult to find inside the mall. read more

I'm so so so thankful I discovered Tailor Needle & Thread for my wedding dress alterations!! Zim altered my wedding dress and did an absolutely amazing job. My dress had a lot going on - between a ballgown and an A-line silhouette, it needed to be taken in in the bust, waist, and hip areas; there was a ton of beading that had to be redone when taking it in; I wanted to change the straps to make a different back neckline; and it had a multi-layered tulle skirt that had to be hemmed and bustled. From our first meeting, Zim was extremely kind and professional and didn't think twice about the list of things I was telling him I wanted to alter. (Before I found Zim, I had gone to a different tailor in the area who made it clear she did not like my dress and challenged everything I said. Zim was the exact opposite, and I'm so grateful to him not only for his masterful tailoring but also for being so accommodating and such a joy to work with!!) I was amazed at the second fitting at how perfectly Zim had redone all the beading when taking in the bust and waist - it looked like the dress had never been touched! I had a couple more appointments to make sure all of the hemming, re-designing of the straps, and bustle were perfect. Zim is very detail-oriented, and he made sure everything was absolutely perfect. I'm so grateful to him for turning my dress into the dress of my dreams!! I highly recommend Zim for wedding needs - wedding dress/bridesmaid dress alterations and tuxes - and all other alteration needs! I wish we hadn't already ordered tuxes before I met Zim because otherwise we would have ordered those with him too. His pricing was much better than the place we got tuxes from. I will definitely be going to Zim for all of my future alterations needs!!!! read more

Fantastic service, and my go to choice for any alterations. The customer service is top notch, and Zim has never not done exactly what I asked for or expected. They just moved into a new location (still inside Woodfield Mall) that is super spacious. Great one on one service and attention to detail for all visits. Overall, I couldn't recommend them more, I won't go anywhere else. High quality work with a personal touch. read more

I've been going to Zim for over 10 years now. He's the best in the area! Would highly recommend him to anyone. He's fast, a perfectionist and has reasonable pricing. Thanks for all your hard work & dedication!! read more

I couldn't be more happy with the work done on my wedding dress! They did amazing work! I looked everywhere to find a place to alter and hem my wedding dress and the quoted me $300 less than everywhere else. They knew exactly how I wanted my dress to lay on my body. They also went above and beyond by helping me by carrying my dress out to my car because I had my 1 year old daughter with me! I couldn't have asked for better service! Thank you for everything! read more

A REAL TAILOR!! Great work! Professional! SUPER Nice!!!! I've been a customer of zim since I was 16 years old, he always showed respect and patience no matter how many questions and requests I have. When it comes to pricing, WELL WORTH IT!! read more

I had my boyfriend's coat zipper replaced by them and they put it on the wrong side. I sent the jacket to my boyfriend and didn't notice it was done wrong. I called them and told them the error they made and that the jacket was in North Carolina and I had to send it to another tailor to get done correctly. I requested my money back and they said they needed to see the jacket. I told them I had a photo and they gave me a hard time and told me that they couldn't trust that I would send them the actual photo of the actual jacket. read more

AVOID at all costs. These guys are extremely rude and their prices are insanely high. Tailors are a dime a doze, and this one's a huge joke. Thanks for incredibly lousy service!! read more

I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to share my experience with Tailor Needle & Thread. My friend needed a suit altered and was told to come here. They did a great job, leaving my friend very happy with the results! About two years ago my brother needed to have his suits altered and the store he bought the suits from recommended that he go to Tailor Needle & Thread. I told him about my friend's experience and he decided to give it a try. He has been so incredibly pleased with the work they have done. I have also come here for my own clothes. They have done such an impeccable job that I am a believer! I highly recommend coming here if you need your clothes altered and need someone to get it right every time. read more

I've been a customer here since 2014 and this place is amazing. Zim has tailored 2 suits, 4 pairs of pants, a shirt, and a wool coat for me and all of them have turned out perfect! Looks like the consensus is this is a 5 star operation--unequivocally agreed. Zim has a great eye and the service is second to none. Though, he doesn't agree with how short I now like my pants, the end product is always on point and within a favorable time frame. Custom quality all around. read more

These guys have amazing custom suites and shirt from Italy. The young guy there is a pro when it comes to fitting for all sizes. The prices are very good plus they have great specials. Definately check them out and ask for Zim for anything you need. read more

If you think hemming trousers is a remarkable achievement then you will probably be impressed with this place. My opinion, however, is that they do sloppy, lazy work. At the prices they charge there is no excuse for this. Will not return. read more

not the best experience. the work I got done was not as promised. good location in the mall but I'd look elsewhere.

I have had great experiences everytime I come to Tailor Needle and Thread. Each time I needed same day alterations after making a purchase in Woodfield Mall, within a half hour of dropping items off, they were ready for pick up. Recently, I had an important event the next morning and needed a pair of pants altered before leaving the mall. I got to Tailor, Needle & Thread just as the store closed. So I was in panic mode, but Zim, the tailor opened the store and I was still able to get 2 pair of pants altered! That level of service is rare. I will always go there and will highly recommend it to others. If you are looking for great service, a great consultative experience, and great finished alterations done quickly... go to Tailor, Needle & Thread! read more

I started coming here a year ago and have never looked back. The custom suits fit like a glove. The care and quality of work is phenominal. Zim really takes the time to get to know his customers, does excellent work at a fair price and is willing to bend over backwards to satisfy his customers. read more

Outstanding craftsmanship and customer service. I trust Zim, as he always tailors my suits to perfection. Great place for alterations. I also bought wool suits for my groomsmen and Zim gave me a good deal on them as well! Can't beat the service!

Have been looking for a good tailor in the suburbs and tried these guys out for a sportcoat I wanted some substantial alterations completed on. Work was spot on and the fit was great. I did have an issue that needed to be corrected, in speaking with the owner on it it was handled exactly as it should have been and resolved to my full satisfaction. I will be back the next time I need similar services. read more
