Really good mango margaritas!! The food was so so. It wasn't mind blowing but it was quick and all the waiters are very nice. I'm not sure if we would come back to eat but at night it looked pretty packed so maybe we'll stop by to check out the bar scene. The view is nice as you're directly across the street from the ocean but on a hot summer's day, even in the shade it's still pretty miserable bc the whole place is outdoors. We were sweating and wish there had been more fans on us but it was a very fast meal. Super sweet staff, it's always helpful to know a few words of Spanish (of course you really should since you're in Mexico & you better know at least a few simple sentences!!) but even so the waiter knew some English as well.

    Tailhunter-- Delicioso!

This place was recommended to us and boy did we appreciate it! Jill and Jonathan are sweethearts. They make you feel welcome right away. The food is phenomenal! The fish tacos were so good be went back the next night for more! Great live music on the second night. If you're in La Paz you don't want to miss this gem!

Keep in mind, the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays (like most restaurants in the area). Our first experience at La Paz was enhanced by Tailhunter's owner, Jonathan. Free tequila shots on our first night in La Paz - what a grand welcome! It felt like we were welcomed in a family environment at Tailhunter's! We enjoyed the live country music. Food was tasty! We had yellowtail sashimi and our server recommended tacos with fish Al mojo de ajo. The seafood was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Our margaritas and micheladas were inundated with plenty of alcohol. We had such a great time with Jonathan as our host. My husband and nephew also had fishing trips reserved with Jonathan's company and they caught 12+ species of fish! Jonathan's crew was so hard working packing the gear and their lunches/breakfasts. His crew made sure my family had a great time. I'm looking forward to the next time we're here. We are going to have his crew cook the fish they caught for us. Will save money to book next year's trip. Jonathan will set up our hotel accommodations, fishing trips, etc. thanks for an amazing time!

It would get a 5 but the food service is sloooooowwwwwww. Fun spot, but get here at least 1.5 hours before you really want to start eating.

This was a good restaurant. The food was good. Large portions and tasty. A variety of Mexican, seafood and hamburgers. Service was good. The drinks were good but not strong. The really great thing about this place is the view. Come at sunset and drink it in. Unfortunately it has to compete with the many televisions in the place. I would have preferred there abscene.

OSKAR!!! Best server EVER!!! Tailhunter is a good place to go to get just regular Mexican food and watch American football. We came here for dinner on my first night in La Paz. There are a lot of stairs to get up to the bar, but the decor is fun. My carne asada tacos were delightful. I did wish they came with more beans and rice, though. On a second visit, I got a burger that had teriyaki sauce on it. I gobbled up half of it with fries. (I was super hungry). The view from the top deck is great. Very chill place to have food and drinks. Thank you for your hospitality, Oskar.

Jonathan's amazing Poke Bowl! And when it's your fresh catch, it's so gratifying!

With the unbelievable vista over looking the Malecon in La Paz, Tailhunter never disappoints! If you're a family who is ready to enjoy your fresh caught fish, or simply a passer by you NEED to treat yourself to a fun and casual experience here! What they can do with fish that was swimming that very morning is unbelievable! Mexican meets a bit of Hawaii here! Even if you don't like fish, there's plenty of options, from burgers to tacos, and beyond! DO NOT FORGET THE FLAN!! Friendly staff, and information on La Paz is available always! Plenty of sports on TV's spread around for the sports addicts like myself too! (If you're interested!) Don't like sports, watch the AMAZING sunsets from the balcony! Can't wait to get back next year!!

Best Customer Service in the area!! The owners of the restaurant Jilly booked everything from the shuttle at the airport to our fishing trip, hotel and excursions!! Other than the most wonderful hospitality ever , my favorite part was catching the fish and then coming to their restaurant and having them cook it for us I'm from Texas so Guacamole is a big deal to me lol, and theirs was a 5Guacamole , it wasn't just mashed avocados . The flavor was on point !! This is the best place to sit have a margarita and watch the sunset it was stunning. And as the sun set, the live music started and the dancing and the laughs. It's family friendly and a lot of fun. Jilly and Johnathan out do themselves to make your entire trip perfect , fun , and completely relaxing. I've been many places and have had great service but this is by far the best customer service ever! I can't wait to see what's in store for next year

They did not skimp on which ones they picked and always put their best foot forward. The highlight of these dinners was the El Mequite. I have not normally associated Mexican dining with great beef, but this place rivals any place I've been (e.g. Manny's in MN, etc.). And, by USA standards, it is very very reasonably priced. We had drinks and the shrimp appetizer to start off with. One platter was good for our party of five. We are all "retirement age" but peppy enough to go after game fish in the Sea of Cortez, so we carry an appetite. The shrimp were plump and not overcooked at all. They were served in a rich sauce as shown in the photo. Yum! We then went on to the main course, which was two platters of Chateaubriand. Each platter is meant for two people, but locals told us that the dual platters would easily serve the five of us. They were right! The pounds of center cut tenderloin and the accompanying vegetables and baked potatoes were more than enough for us after the appetizer and a couple drinks. It was delicious and we ate to discomfort. The dessert was flan and this was tasty and cooked fresh on premises that day. Great stuff! Service was perfectly attentive and, although there is not a lot of English spoken here, there is enough that us gringos were able to easily communicate what we wanted. When you are in LaPaz, this is the place if you are a meat eater!
