My husband had been here twice for brunch and raved about it. So we decided to have lunch while in La Paz. Super cute restaurant. Service was excellent - attentive and friendly. I had high hopes, as it was very busy with Mexican families. We weren't super hungry, so we ordered the Carne Asada platter that came with a chile relleno to share. Food took a very long time to arrive, but they were busy, so that was understandable. Unfortunately, when it finally did arrive, it was all very bland. The steak had almost no char, so it was kind of an unappealing grayish color. Flavors of everything were just pretty underwhelming. It wasn't bad, just not very good. I would like to say make sure you get your order right otherwise you will still get charged for the meal even if it's not your fault , pricing was decent food wasn't that great and the waitress took my order I repeated myself 3 times since my child is lactose intolerance when they brought out her meal it had cheese and sour cream which I had stated none on it for that reason and all I was told was that I still had to pay for the meal even though it wasn't my fault since it was serve . We tried a number of dishes here with our party of 10. The green sauce on the enchiladas wasn't a hit, but two things here were amazing. The salsa tatemada that they serve with chips at the beginning was the best salsa I've had in the month we've been here and the carne en su jugo was simply outstanding. Do NOT pass up the opportunity to order the carne en su jugo. The broth is rich and the meat, onions, and beans made up the dish that the entire group agreed was the belle of the ball. Go grab some today! If you're looking for a second dish the alambres chilango were excellent also. It was just a tough comparison when the carne en su jugo was competing with it! read more

Great spot! Good service. Food was good. But it was missing an it factor. Feels like a azteca or Red Robin of Mexico haha. I say that because they do the cake and birthday chant for those there celebrating. Anywho food was pretty good though, my posole was enjoyable, and my hubby food was good too, especially the arrachera and Chile relleno. What wasn't too good was the strawberry Horchata. Simply put, a great spot, if you're looking for a delicious, friendly, and low-key Mexican restaurant. The staff were friendly and the food was good. We enjoyed the tortilla soup and chicken soup, aguasfrescas, cheap Mexican beer (get it Cubana-style, with salsa, lemon and lime ), guacamole, flan, and cheesecake. Unlike most "actual Mexican restaurants in Mexico", the decor here would not look out of place as a "Mexican family restaurant" anywhere in the USA. Cheerful folk art and pastoral scenes adorn the walls. The clientele were about half Mexican, half foreigners, and prices are inexpensive compared to the foreigner-targeted restaurants on the waterfront. After 5 or 6 days of trying fancy and flashy places in La Paz, this was a perfect place for a nice easy dinner. We'll be back. read more

This restaurant is wonderful! While the menu doesn't explicitly state vegan (vegano), the staff are wonderful at modifying to make vegan. In addition, the margaritas are delicious and if, like me, you're fond of chili, the owner will make you an exception special chili salsa (beware, it doesn't hurt until a couple of minutes after consuming). Genuine Mexican with lovely staff. Highly recommend! Photo of DELICIOUS vegan fajitas. All this, plus three margaritas was around 250 pesos which by la paz boardwalk standards is very good value (and the owner put the leftovers in a takeaway box for me). read more

Excellent food and service. Ordered the large platter that feeds four people or more like 6. Comes with corn, chorizo, Al pastor, chicken, nopal, cheese, beans, asada and pork chop.
