Came up to Tahoe with the ski bus this weekend and it was a great experience. The bus is lux, the driver pretty top notch being able to get through the snow obstacles. The hotel we stayed at was central, roomy with a fireplace. At the resort, dropped us off at the top parking lot, had an awesome time on the slopes. Highly recommended! read more

I recently rode another company's ski bus to Tahoe (I won't say who, but their name is similar to "Activity Cellar"), and didn't have a great experience: they got us there two hours behind schedule, and abandoned me and some other riders because we were a few minutes late returning to the parking lot. Tahoe Ski Trips saved the day! They had room on their bus back to San Jose, and graciously let us tag along so we could make it home. I'll definitely be riding with them again, this time on purpose! read more

A friend and I recently took the bus to Tahoe for a day trip - great, easy experience and the driver was incredibly nice. It's impossible to get a hold of anyone at the company via phone or email. I've tried to contact them for four weeks and have not had anyone answer the phone or respond to emails. The worst experience ever! I unexpected feel sick 2 days before the trip day and I wish to go but I really can't! Called them that day and been told there is a high chance of new bookings the next day and with a full refund. Additionally, I was assured that I would receive an update the following day. Unfortunately, despite numerous attempts to follow up via phone calls and emails before the day of the ski trips, I have not received any response or acknowledgment from them and I didn't hear back from them for 2 weeks. When I heard back from them more than 2 weeks they told me no refund and that feeling sick is not a valid reason?! Excuse me?! I've been honest sharing the real reason and they didn't show any empathy let alone any refund. It's more than the refund now, my primary concern lies with the lack of accountability and empathy demonstrated by this company. The failure to honor commitments, the absence of communication, and the overall poor customer service experience have deeply disappointed me. read more

I was fortunate enough to take a PTO day midweek to enjoy an EPIC POWder day at Sierra at Tahoe on Wednesday February 20, 2019 with Tahoe Ski Trips (which was formerly the Bay Area Ski Bus) - they are a small family business with over 22 years of Tahoe resorts ski bus service experience and it shows.. 1) Day Trip Bus Pick-Up in San Jose, CA at 4:00 A.M. was early but I brought my small pillow and used my earphones to listen to some music and was able to sleep until 7am; breakfast of bagels, cream cheese, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, juice, water, was served about 7:30am. Michael and Tiffany did a stellar job of hosting and providing outstanding service with smiling faces throughout the day. They even suggested and helped folks to team up to ski/ride if a person was going solo to be safe and have more fun. Don't hesitate to ask your ski bus hosts to help you connect with a ski/ride buddy if you are inclined; quite a few folks ride the bus solo and are opened to ski/ride with another person for fun and safety. 2) John, our bus driver did a great job at getting us to Sierra-at-Tahoe by 8:25am (even after having to stop to install tire chains) so folks who wanted to enjoy first tracks did so. 3) It was dumping fresh POW throughout the day and the slopes were wide-opened with only a few skiers/riders - tip: if you can take midweek day off, do it - wonderful to enjoy uncrowded ski slopes and bonus fresh powder. Oftentimes, I had the slope all to myself :) I usually drive my 4WD Toyota 4Runner so I appreciate been able to sleep on the bus and save my energy for skiing so not having to drive is a huge plus. At the resort, while they handed out the lift tickets, they also set up a table with free Red Bull energy drinks, water and Kind energy bars to enjoy slopeside. 4) Apres ski starting at 3:30pm, Tahoe Ski Trips hosts Michael and Tiffany had set up a table with refreshments such as piping hot chili, water, white and red wine, salty snacks, chocolate cookies and Cuties which was all included in the bus trip pricing. Quite an excellent way to recharge and relax after a fun-filled day. 5) On the drive home, they put on several entertaining movies but I found myself falling asleep for most of the way. Luxury bus is equipped with reclining seats, restroom, TVs, WiFi (works when bus is when not in the mountains where service reception is poor), two power outlets per two seats and small backpack size storage bins above the seats. Storage area on the outside of the bus for storing skis, snowboards, ski boots, ski poles, and big bags. Tips for improvements? Not that I can think of at the moment. Excellent service and unbeatable ski bus trip value over-all: stellar, friendly service by Tahoe Ski Trips reps Michael and Tiffany. Message to Tahoe Ski Trips: keep up the good work; being best in the biz for over 20 years take tremendous hard work and dedication. I read a few reviews which complained of booking and/or communication issues - probably the best/quickest way to communicate with them/contact Tahoe Ski Trips is via their social media contact links on their website which proves to be faster than emails and phone calls which is likely to go to voicemail since they often get flooded with phone calls especially when snow is in the forecast. Highly recommended! How about other ski bus trip providers? I took a few ski bus trips with other bus providers but I preferred Tahoe Ski Trips because: (1) they have hands-down the most experience in the industry = they almost never cancel your trip last minute due to whatever reasons other bus providers give you (2) excellent value for what you are getting (breakfast, snacks for on-slope, apres ski drinks + eats are all included in the price) so comparatively they have the best value for the price. :) read more

Yes, they're still in business. Actually, I too am confused. A decade ago I rode Bay Area Ski Bus to Squaw -- it was a great deal: I slept; they drove and the incremental cost for the transportation was not that much more than the lift ticket. A decade has passed; yesterday I once again took a bus-ride-with-ticket package to Squaw. This time the business was/is called "TahoeSkiTrips.net. The math has changed; a same day Squaw ticket is now $169. The bus with food and Squaw lift ticket was $179 or $189, I forget. Holy crow! $20 or less for a round trip ride to Squaw! It's a no-brainer! I skimmed a few of the negative reviews, and some of them seem like they're from goofballs; "Hey, we decided that it was unsafe, so we want a refund." Jeez, do you do that to the airlines too?! Someone's probably eventually going to complain about the food; honestly, it really wasn't top-shelf. IT'S NOT MEANT TO BE! It's an awesome little extra, having waters and day-old bagels passed out as we approach the resort. Heck - as the bus is taking it's parking spot someone, a local, is outside setting-up little benches so that we have a place to sit while putting on equipment. As I'm putting on my boots I see that there's also a small table with coffee, tea, and a few snacks. After a hard day of boarding I return to the bus and another table is set-up, this one with small sandwiches, chili, cookies, even a splash of wine. Did I mention that the cost above the value of the same-day lift ticket was only $10 or $20!! I'm still thinking about those negative reviews... what could "TahoeSkiTrips.net do better? Well, perhaps communication. I had to email to find-out where on 16th St the pickup was; pickup locations should be all-over the website, and order receipt. Was completely ghosted by Kevin Larroque after we exchanged a few seemingly friendly few emails. I made several attempts by email/phone to follow up with no reply. I was planning on using this company to take many trips to Tahoe but I will NEVER be using this company again. I moved from Florida and had never been skiing before so I purchased the most expensive Squaw package for $254 which included the bus trip and lift ticket. All the other packages for that price included a 2.5 hour beginners ski lesson but apparently this one did not. I emailed Kevin to inform him that I had purchased a ski lesson at the resort which includes a lift ticket so I paid twice for the ski lift. He said he could refund me the extra ski lift ticket. I booked a bus trip to Sierra-at-Tahoe resort. Two days before the trip, they cancelled the trip with email notification, stating not enough snow and not enough customers, so offering to refund. Ironically, they sent an email a day before saying a good week of snow and good status in various resorts. I checked the resort, and they're still open, but I had to cancel my trip. After a few days, I saw no refund email or credit, so I contacted them. Unfortunately, my call always reached the answering machine. My two followup email had no response either. I'm not sure if they're still in business. Cancelling the trip already causes customers' great loss. No communication and no refund? I can't thinks of a worse result. read more

Registering for a ride to Tahoe with Tahoe Ski Trips was super simple. I spoke with Kevin on the phone and he was wonderful; and then i completed the purchase process online. It's a great deal at under $200 for a one-day round-trip ride and lift ticket to resorts like Kirkwood, Squaw, Northstar, Heavenly, and Sierra at Tahoe (where we're season pass holders). Travelled to Sierra at Tahoe on Saturday, February 29th via Tahoe Ski Trips. Having utilized this service since 2010 (Back in the Bay Area Ski Bus days!), I can confidently say that I've been on 10+ trips with this company. This will be my first review I've written for them...why, you ask? It's because of the fantastic service provided by our Tahoe Ski Trip hosts Loretta and Duff as well as the driver Greg. Transportation We promptly left San Jose at 4:03 am and got to Sierra at 8:00 am. At the end of the day, we left around 4:37 am and returned to San Jose by 8:20. The ride from Greg was smooth and we made it our destinations well ahead of schedule! Loretta and Duff Both were fantastic hosts - they had great communication, always providing detailed instructions and keeping us well informed on the logistics of the trip. Small things, such as letting people know the ETA for the return destination so that they can call a Lyft/Uber, went above and beyond what I normally see for these trips. Overall, I highly recommend them and will continue to utilize this service for future trips given the experience they provided! read more

I booked the bus + list ticket at Kirkwood at $179. We were supposed to leave from San Jose at 4. We kept hearing another 10 mins for about an hour and finally bus came after 5. Despite the initial delays, there was still an additional and unplanned stop in San Francisco (they merged the SF and SJ bus). We reached Kirkwood after 10:30 and I hit the slopes at 11 which was disappointing. On the way back, the additional San Francisco stop added at least an extra hour with traffic and I'm still on the bus and will be reaching after 10pm read more

I have sent them an e-mail (office@tahoeskitrips.net) last week and called both the numbers listed on their website but have not heard from them. One phone number is always busy (925) 680-4386 and the other number (855) 747-4930 does not pick up and request that you leave a voicemail so I did but they have not called me back for a few days. I tried calling a different company with the same address in Concord as the one listed on the Ski Bus Website and they said that this Tahoe company is 2 units down from them. I was told that the company has moved out of their address location and that office space is currently empty. I was planning to book a trip with this company but since I can not get a confirmation of whether they are still in business, I may have to pass. I had a fantastic time with TST this past weekend. Pickup from Rockridge was smooth and on time. The drive was uneventful (always a good thing so early in the morning), and the communication from the hosts was perfect. They were energetic and helpful. They kept us informed on what to expect and where to go. And they were very eager for feedback on how to make the TST experience even better. Though I have the means to drive to the mountains, ski buses, and TST in particular, is my preference because of 1) the convenience 2) the price 3) the helpful staff 4) and the included apres ski. I've taken TST buses up to ski 13 times this year and each time has been an amazing trip, whatever happens. Only once has the bus not been right on time or even waiting for us. I would write 13 reviews but I guess I can only write one so I'll cover this last trip. I took the TST skibus up to Kirkwood on Sunday (3/10/19) and had a blast in spite of some really big challenges on the trip (the bus lost time due to being stuck behind and accident on the way up). Also we had to chain up before we got to Kirkwood. In spite of all that the host, Mike and the driver handled it all really well and we got a full day of skiing in. They even made tacos for us before we left (instead of the usual chili). All in all it was a great day, great skiing, great snow, great staff, great movie on the way back.. I'm giving 5 stars because, although the bus was late due to the accident they were behind, that is not really their fault. Also, it was a first of all the trips I've taken with them this year or any other. I highly recommend Tahoe Ski Trips. read more

Tahoe ski trip ran a really nice trip, we left exactly on time at 4 in Santa Clara and the host Dave and his partner were really courteous and helpful with whatever questions we had. It started snowing as we were going up so our driver Scott had to put on chains and take off chains multiple of times because the road conditions kept changing. I was really glad I didn't have to deal with driving in the snow and dealing with the heavy traffic. We ended up getting to the resort at 10, but with the amount of traffic and snow on the ground I felt that we still made good time. I knew that we would get bagels in the morning, but I didn't expect them to give us apple juice, yogurt and also hard boiled eggs, so that was an added bonus. My favorite part was the Mac and cheese during the party. I had a couple bowls and it hit the spot after a long day of snowboarding. Overall the ride was super smooth, the complimentary food exceeded standard and the service was excellent, would definitely ride again with Tahoe ski trip read more

The bus is on time, staff is very nice. There are complementary snacks. But Seats are seriously cramped. I'm 6'1" and it's _painful_: knees do not fit, backside barely fits. You will most likely be touching a person next to you. I'm willing to spend $15 more if you remove 2 rows of seats for the extra space. read more

My boyfriend and I just moved from NY to SF and have purchased bus and lift tickets through Tahoe Ski Trips. Both times have been nothing short of awesome and will continue to book our ski trips through them. The trip coordinators are so nice, fun, and helpful, which really adds to the element of taking a day trip with a crew. Last ski trip we were on the list for Northstar, but booked Squaw just in case. When the Northstar list opened up we were able to switch our tickets within a matter of minutes. Additionally, (being newbies to the west coast) we were a little nervous about traveling in the storm after chatting with some locals at the ski lodge. I emailed Kevin about my reservations and he responded within 10 min about forecasts and transit information, so you could tell they were consistently monitoring. The ride home was easy and smooth. I had a really great trip with Tahoe Ski Trips last week. Michael and Allison hosted us. it leaves really early, but you can at least rest on the trip and they gave us breakfast with bagels and cream cheese, yogurt, hard boiled eggs on the way up and we had a beer and wine bus gathering right before leaving. The bus has a bathroom and power outlets (regular not USB). If you drink coffee you probably want to bring some in a Thermos. So much better than driving yourself. When I first started out boarding, I somehow managed to do day trips with friends from SF which meant leaving by 4am, drive for 4+ hrs to the ski resort, board for 6-8 hrs then drive back which now that I think about is soo tiring. So, thank goodness for Tahoe Ski Trips! I recently tried them out this past weekend for the first time going up to Kirkwood and was pleased with my overall experience. My boyfriend and I booked just a round trip ride only since we had our own gear and buying a lift ticket online was a cheaper option. We got picked up from the SF location at 4:30. It seemed a little sketch to leave our car in the area, but there were other riders doing the same who seemed to have done it before so it was fine. We made sure to show up early to give ourselves enough time to unload/load our gear and got dibs on choosing our seats on the bus. They left within 5 mins of scheduled time, so show up early! Within an hour, I knocked out which I'm sure the majority of riders did also and woke up in the mountains! So even though setting your alarm at 3:30 seems dreadful, it's ok because you can easily KO on the bus. Next time I'm coming prepared with a sleeping mask and neck pillow. Our hosts Becky and Roel were great, accommodating and friendly. About 1 hr-45 mins before getting to Kirkwood, they walked up and down the aisles passing out breakfast including water/juice, yogurt and bagels. Once we got to the lot, we were able to gear up and leave anything behind in the bus as it was locked during the day. The best part was probably the "party" at the end when they set up the beer keg, bottles of wine, more snacks and hot chili served with hot dogs or by itself. We didn't get to enjoy it as much since it started getting really windy/lightly snowing but the idea of it is so cute and generous - perfect way to end the day and mingle with other riders. I do have to say, the ride back home felt longer as we had to do a drop off to Walnut Creek. I was getting antsy, but couldn't complain about not having to drive after boarding. Overall, a great alternative if you plan on a solo ride or no one in the group wants to drive. Don't forget to tip the driver for getting you up and back safely! Will definitely take advantage of this service again and would recommend to friends. read more

Just got back from my first Tahoe Ski Trip adventure and it would have been perfect, minus the morning delay. I wanted to take a day trip to Tahoe and this bus is the perfect vessel, especially if you share a car or don't have one at all. Once things got moving, everyone passes out for the first few hours and the seats are comfortable enough for that to happen, but I'd recommend a neck pillow. When the bus is about an hour out, they feed you bagels with cream cheese and orange juice. Even after you get off the bus, there was a small table with hard boiled eggs and coffee. Since I have the Epic pass, I just went straight to the slopes. The after party is even better than the morning meal. I was tired from a long day of skiing, so I went back a bit early and found chili, pub mix, yogurt, oranges, wine, and a whole bunch of other food. It was an excellent way to end the day. The down side: bus delays... I was supposed to be picked up at the Oakland stop at 4:30 am. At 4:40 am, there was no bus but someone showed up and said there was an email saying the bus pick up was delayed to 5am. I never got it, but whatever. Around 5am, there was a large group of people waiting for pick up, but still no bus. Eventually it showed up at 5:35 am and took off around 5:40 am. This delayed our day and I was annoyed, but I can't tell if this is common or not since it was my first trip. Also, on the way back, after everyone had been picked up we sat in the parking lot for another 30 minutes before leaving. Just plan on having a very long day and be happy that you can fall asleep on both ends of the trip. read more

Most amazing trips ever and after two decades and amazing resort relationships these guys are the OG's and nobody can touch them. Been using them forever and they have gone OUT OF THEIR WAY time and time again to help me out. Best Apres' party- big ole crock of Chili, Red Bulls, Cookies (ever had the oreo mint ones? SOOOO good) These guys are all about making sure you have a good time- accept no fakes this company is the real deal. Previously Bay Area Ski Bus and now under ownership by the people that ran the company they now offer more trips, coffee at arrival- and the best drivers anywhere to make sure people can get to the resort even when it's dumping (as long as the roads are open) I guess their phones were down in the transition from old company to new- but I just booked online at www.bayareaskibus.com and had no problems and a great trip.
