We sailed out of Sausalito floating across the Bay. We went under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz and Angel Island. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and the views were absolutely beautiful!! One of my favorite parts was seeing SF from the water. The city, the Golden Gate, and the Bay Bridge all looked so tiny and beautiful in the distance. It was so fun waving to people on the shore and having people on the other boats wave back to us. It was just such a happy, fun, and delightful experience!! The crew was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating, which made the whole trip even better! We were lucky enough to join Wendy from Somatic Ecotherapy, and I'm so glad we got the opportunity to experience SF this way. By the end of the trip, my cheeks literally hurt from smiling so much!! The Silver Fox crew offered seats on their boat for $30 per person (x4 6yo twins +Mom &Dad) to experience the air show from the coast guard boundary. The boat would board at 2:00pm, and leave at 2:30 (2:30 is important to remember). There was only one other couple signed up when we boarded, with the same name Todd, the crew member pointed this out. (seen sheet with names - No Omar) We boarded the boat on time (2:00) and picked our seats towards the stern. Between 2:00 and 2:30 the crew was offering rides to those walking by trying to fill up the boat and doing a good job. The time to depart of 2:30 came and went, we could hear "chatter" between the crew about waiting on someone. The other charter boats ALL departed to the boundary on time or even a little early. At 2:38 I walked up to the only crew member on the boat who was in the wheel house, the other member was still looking for more passengers topside. I politely asked how long until we depart since it's already 2:38, he said we are waiting for one more customer. I stated "we were all told to be here at 2:00 and were leaving at 2:30, as a business man you should keep your word to the 20+ already on the boat and leave the late customer. The crew member at this time (irritated tone of voice) told me, "get the HELL out of my wheel house now," for the record I wasn't in his wheel house. As I walked back to my family he was immediately on the phone with someone (late customer), he then announced to the boat that the last passenger is a block away and we should be leaving shortly (2:43). While waiting another customer was also irritated and made a comment and I followed up with "come on let's leave, we were on time." The late passenger arrived, as he was walking towards the front the boat, the captain asked if Omar was on??? Omar walked into the wheel house, hmmm must not be a customer but a friend. The self proclaimed CAPTAIN then exited the wheel house and started yelling and pointing his finger at me "are you gonna be cool? Are gonna be cool? (He continued to get closer) I'm the captain and will kick you off my boat and there will be no refunds." I ONLY sat quietly because of my kids, I didn't want them to miss out on the experience. I just nodded and said "I'm fine." The Silver Fox is pathetic and disgrace to others trying to make a living. I didn't deserve the verbal attack, I was nothing but polite at the entrance of "his" wheel house. I was a paying customer with a freedom of speech. The CAPTAIN bullied his authority and embarrassed me in front of my family. The time we sat in port 2:30 - 2:46 we missed the tail end of a show and missed the flyover of the United 747. We received a confirmation email letting us know when to board and be at the dock. My husband and his father (who came from New York) show up at the boat and NOBODY was there at the boat. They called the number listed in the email and nobody picked up or returned there call. LUCKILY a better fishing boat was available for them to hop on. If they wouldn't have been able to fish, then they would have wasted $200 on a hotel the night before and the 5+hour roundtrip drive to San Fran. The LEAST this company could have done was call to cancel the day before if something came up. The other fishing boat captain from another boat said he sees these people do this frequently. They just don't show up and then refund the people. So save yourself the headache of all of this and FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!! I emailed them to ask for a full refund so I will update my review once or if I ever hear back from them. UPDATE: It has been one day and I just got my email sent back to me. Apparently their email listed on their website does not work. It looks like I will be opening up a fraud case through my bank. Fantastic.

The dining area was up one floor. There were plenty of room on the floor for everyone to dance. A live DJ and bar. Besides our office party, there was a birthday and anniversary party. We circled the entire bay passing all the landmarks, seeing the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge, passing Tiburon where the San Rafael bridge and Belvedere Island can be seen. I've never gone out that far. Boat wasn't too rocky. It was enough for people in heels to move around the boat and catch the scenery. It was great seeing the city lights and the Bay Bridge lightshow. It's been a decade since the lights on the Bay Bridge were off. Food was well made and delicious. I ordered the dumplings for appetizer, steak and toffee crunch chocolate cake. I couldn't finish my cake. It was so rich. Riding on the boat is well worth the experience if you haven't done so. It's a getaway from city and work life. The boat was fine. There isn't a ton of seating outside but there was some seating inside (covered). They actually had a snack bar even for such a short ride. To my amazement, I saw tons of people flocking to buy treats for like a 10 minute ride to Alcatraz. It is a little rocky on the water and my mother in law was getting a bit seasick on the return ride home. But as someone who's not really affected by seasickness I thought the ride was okay, maybe a tiny bit choppy at times.

It was a great mix of different farms and different ways of doing things, and I felt like a kid again on a super-fun field trip where you got to explore and touch and watch the makings of where your food comes from. The farmers were genuine, down-to-earth people and were serious farm-fresh foodies. We literally had meals prepared for us by the farmers right in front of us and they were SO DELICIOUS. I got to pick my own tomatoes right off the vine. I even learned about fruits and vegetables I'd never even heard of. Oh, did I mention I got to try them out, too? The environment was relaxed. The guides were very knowledgeable and interesting. And the design of the event was really mellow but well planned. Did I mention the views? These properties are just amazing. What awesome country to get to go hang out in. Between all the exploring, wine, food and learning, the day went by fast and I got to take in a ton of beautiful sites. This tour was a find. Bay Area Green Tours really came through in this regard, and they arranged everything beautifully. The most memorable stop was a farm run by a restauranteur and chef, and they went all out on the tour. We picked our own fruits and vegetables and the chef prepared them in a gorgeous outdoor setting. Meeting the family that owned and operated the farm was eye opening and educational. For example, the farmer/chef explained that his warm-loving citrus trees do much better at higher altitude up his hill rather than at the base due to the downhill sliding effect of cold air. Good eats, great people, and very educational. Not a bad way to spend a weekend or two!
