I called Tahoe Heating in the late afternoon because my furnace would only work for short periods of time. Todd responded early the next morning and suspected that my furnace and gas water heater were not working because of a blockage in the exhaust vent that both appliances shared. While testing the heater, Todd noticed fumes, which he described as carbon monoxide, being drawn from the water heater to the fan in the furnace, which provided more evidence that something was blocking the vent. It turned out the roof vent cap for the exhaust pipe had slipped down to cover the pipe, probably because of the snow load. Todd's quick response and expertise in diagnosing the problem prevented CO from leaking into my home. I do not hesitate recommending Tahoe Heating and will use them in the future. A year later after the installation I find our monthly heating bill(for the entire year) is consistently higher each month than the previous month/year. Is it possible that we were sold either an inefficient or too large a unit? More tons(heater rating) equals more profit. Less efficient means it runs longer to accomplish the same goal. read more

Tahoe Heating has worked on the furnace at our cabin many times in the past. A couple of days ago the pilot light failed to stay on. We called Tahoe Heating and was informed that they "no longer work on standing pilot lights". They could not be bothered to provide a referral to another local contractor. This left us in the cold, literally. Perhaps they are using this posture to force people to buy a new system or for some other selfish reason. Beware. read more

We've used Tahoe Heating (Todd and Team) for several years and always experienced excellent service and support!. Since we don't live in Tahoe year around, we keep a constant temp throughout winter to avoid plumbing issues in our vacation home. Just recently, we noticed remotely via our Nest thermostat, that we had lost all heating in the middle of winter and inside our place was in the low 40's and dropping... Unfortunately, we were unable to make the trip to Tahoe and called Tahoe Heating Sunday evening and left a message, that next morning we received a call back and Todd was at our place within a couple of hours. While trouble shooting the furnace, he soon located the problem where a huge Stellar Jay had fallen down the flue. He corrected a few other mechanical issues and our furnace works perfect! Started on Christmas Eve when the heat went out and it was cold. Tahoe Heating could not come out as they were slammed with other calls, but as opposed to leaving us in the lerch, they gave us the names of a couple other people that might be able to help and then offered to come the day after Christmas if we had not been able to resolve it. As it was we were able to get it to limp through the holidays. When it was time to replace the furnace Todd was amazing, came out promptly to see what we had and walked me through all of the options in an honest and thoughtful way.
