A Yank in Britain: While walking Hatfield Road in Forest Row, not far from my wonderful private accommodations, my sister and I found Taffels and as soon as we walked through the door, we knew it would be a treat. We were greeted by very friendly staff and grabbed a seat by the window. We both ordered omelettes; hers being cheese and spinach with the included salad and, mine, being ham and cheese with french fries. The fries came in a small bowl, which I poured on to the plate, next to the egg dish. In a word, it was wonderful. The ham had a succulent taste that was enhanced by the cheese. It was cooked to perfection, with those very slight brown spots adding to the charm of the dish. I am sure during my stay that I will again be visiting Taffels. And, I did, a few times ... read more
