I have a keen eye for good customer service and being a critic I know what I expect. The young woman behind the till, must have been no older than 19 was very rude. The type that seemed more interested in their own nails than serving customers (Though I don't recall her actually looking particularly neat) My fiancé at the time was on crutches. He paid for our drinks and a gent brought them over for us, with the common sense that my partner wouldn't be able to carry them himself (While I had the shopping) However when we sat down, the distracted woman walked past and my partner asked if we could have some milk for the tea. She said It's there and pointed. Rude, though she most likely assumed I'm perfectly able to get up and get it. The point actually being, she was wandering about not actually getting any work done, AND we then overheard her saying to the gent He's too lazy to get the milk himself and glancing over to us. She took the bottle of cream (which had enough for at least 4-5 coffes) and said " there isnt a lot of cream so we cant make it with cream ", I was shocked as to how they handle customer service!!! My other half got the table with the intention of ordering when I got out, so I went off to respond to the call of nature. When I went to the toilet, which is at the far end of the shop by the 'washing-up room'. As I opened the door I was greeted by a horrific outdoors-y public toilet smell. I wanted to hurry up. The tissue holder had fallen off the wall and was face down on the floor. There was torn tissue everywhere. The previous person had not flushed and the seat was dirty. I have never used facilities without buying something but we actually decided not to stay. I had no appetite. Their food hygiene rating is also only a TWO! Toilets aside, I'm not a fan of Costa tea. It gets two stars as it's in a convenient location and the caramel shortbread is tasty.
