I have to counter the review left below here…read more The owner of Central Stores has never been anything other than cheerful and helpful in all my dealings with her. When we moved into our house which is a few yards away from the shop, she allowed furniture which couldn't be delivered to our new home to be stored temporarily in the shop. She not only runs the shop but is a key member of the local community. This is how a village shop *should* work. It's not only somewhere you can go to, to buy "emergency bread" at 11am on a Sunday, but also somewhere that is a key component to the local community. And she's right about parking outside the shop. There may not be restrictions but sheer common sense says that you can't park outside without causing major problems to other road users.

The female shopkeeper seems to believe she owns the road outside the shop, whereas I am sure that Britain's roads exist for the use of the public & are maintained by various government bodies at the public's expense, as a taxpayer I may therefore park on roads where parking is legally acceptable. Even after purchasing in her shop she accosted me to tell me I cannot park in front of the shop because I am not disabled. There are no road signs or markings defining it as disabled parking. Indeed I would never park in a disabled bay, being a law abiding citizen. My family & I will not be spending money in this shop anymore, we will dissuade others from doing so also. She is a greedy, rude woman whose attitude will stop people from shopping with her.
