Brilliant, absolutely top class trainer, knows his stuff and you will get results, well if you follow the exercises of course!

Came here for a weekend bootcamp in the Cotswolds having seen the reviews on TripAdvisor (hey,…read morenothing on Yelp!). Broadly they seemed very positive and it wasn't far so i thought i would give it a go. First of all, don't be fooled by their website tag line 'champagne quality for lemonade prices'. This is budget. You get no frills at all, but you kind of expect that for what you pay. The overall experience was quite poor for a whole number of reasons. Firstly, the exercise program and trainers' attitude could really be improved. The people running the show were completely disinterested in the punters. Apart from the bare minimum interaction, they really wanted nothing to do with us. They were also quite arrogant about their abilities and their knowledge. However, out of about 4-5 exercise classes a day over a three day period, all but three were circuits exercising the same old tired muscles hour after hour. When you have exhausted your shoulders with press-ups on days 1 and 2, why do you need to shred them again on day 3? Pointless. There didn't really seem to be any real thought put into a proper programme to build in some variety. There were 22 of us sweaty bodies on the weekend and the studio (no air conditioning or even fans) on a really hot day was overstuffed and stifling. Secondly the equipment was dirty and smelly. The exercise mats were disgusting; bring your own. As to the boxing gloves, i skipped the boxercise class (which was one of the few non-circuit classes and thus of interest) because one of the girls on a 6 day camp said that she couldn't get the stink off her hands all day from a previous session. And the gloves really were revoltingly reeking of stale sweat. They cannot have been cleaned from the day they were first purchased. Ugh. Next; the accommodation. Like i said, budget. So bring everything. A towel, shower gel, shampoo, the lot. The sheets and curtains are thin and worn. I also brought a pillow having read one of the reviews. The walls are also very thin and it is noisy so bring earplugs. Unfortunately my assigned roommate snored. I ended up sleeping on the smelly sofa in the living room with another bootcamper suffering a similar problem in his room. We were left to find our own solution on subsequent nights as the trainers certainly had nothing to offer. Also no coffee, no tea and no milk! You might be able to accept this as some kind of health kick but they won't even refrigerate your milk for you, citing health and safety. This is nonsense. And finally I have left the best until last; the food. Quite the worst meals I have ever had the misfortune to eat in my life. The ingredients were clearly of the lowest common denominator. The mince on the first night was something you would not feed your dog, and the standard of cuisine was what you might expect from a fresher at university experimenting with cooking for the first time. The portions were in the main quite small, which might be expected as the camp was geared towards weight loss, but they were not at all nutritionally balanced. My best meals all weekend were the bowls of porridge in the mornings. To make things worse, the trainers lectured us on nutrition and the importance of spending money on good ingredients, and then fed us tasteless and poor meals. There is no excuse for that, particularly when you are working really hard. The main question: did I feel i exercised? Yes i did. i am fit but i was worked hard. i would have liked more variety of exercise, clean equipment and decent meals. One of the trainers at the beginning of the weekend told me that he didn't read the reviews. I think he should. I wouldn't recommend this bootcamp and I wouldn't come again.
