The really bad thing of this facility is the meals that they serve. They were terrible. Found out that the people who got our meals together never tasted the food to see if it tasted good and 99 % of the time all meals were cold and tasteless. I used numerous bottles of Texas Pete just to give some kind of taste to what I was eating. I was losing weight and even when I complained to the people in charge and they said something would be done, NOTHING changed. I will definitely make sure that when I get my Left Hip Replacement surgery done in late March or early April I WILL DEFINITELY MAKE SURE THAT I DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY. One of the STARS of this facility was the CNA Margie as she was always looking out for me and trying to bring me some warm food.

Horrible! I used to be proud of this nursing facility and…read morerecommended it as great care and loving staff but the greed of the newest Owner's show. Almost every awesome staff member who had a heart has left. The Government Medical System at work. They took hiring out of the facilities hands and Gov agencies stepped in and recked it. They hire young people who do not have the skills to do what is best for the elderly and it shows but end up paying 3 times because they are hired outside through a third party. They have $$$$ for boxes upon boxes of stupid bears and blankets piled high encompassing the receptionist area to be given to newcomers. People don't want a blanket or bear from China. WE WANT THE CARE OUR LOVED ONES DESERVE! The good ones are so understaffed, overworked, way underpaid and the young ones don't have the heart to be here, it's just a paycheck attitude. Pay the good caring ones their worth. Instead, hours are cut and while others do the job of three people. They are the ones who have a heart for this job. Sadly, today my heart finally broke as I visited... ceiling tiles soaked and falling down, makeshift drainage buckets with tubing from the ceiling, light fixtures puddling with water and there is so much mold in the ceiling of the patients' rooms and everywhere!!! THIS IS A HEALTH HAZZARD TIMES TEN... AND THIS IS WHAT THEY THINK IS A WELCOMING NURSING FACILITY FOR OUR LOVED ONES TO BE CARED FOR. To Whom It May Concern, Please Higher a Damn Professional Plumber, Electrician and HVAC Company to finally fix something. SPEND THE MONEY. I am posting photo's hoping something gets done!!! I can no longer remain quiet. IF NOT ME THEN WHO? IF NOT NOW THEN WHEN? I AM THE ADVOCATE FOR THOSE WHO CAN NOT SPEAK. I am praying that the situation will be taken care of immediately. People over money! Would you want your loved ones living like this? I doubt it. Thank you. Stacey P.

I was in the IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) for about 14 total weeks. I started virtual, then…read morelost insurance and had to put a pause on the program. When I came back I completed the full 12 week program. This is the best program by far that I have done. I have been in and out of VB psych for years, but this program has done a world of justice for me. While in the program I got help with my job options because they have an academic/vocational advisor to talk to. I also got to participate in family groups, which no other program has offered for me. My family got to come with me to learn how they can be a support, but also to dig deeper into how up bringing plays a large role into mental health and coping skills. When searching for a place to go I wanted a place where I didnt have to see their med doctor because to many cooks in the kitchen is not a good thing. Sandstone allowed me to get just what I needed, which was therapy because I have a med doctor already and a therapist; however, I needed more therapy then just individual. Never have I considered that childhood plays a vital role in my current ways of coping, and this program helped me dive into that. They have been supportive all the way. Never was I ignored or went unheard. I got individual therapy as well during this besides just group and family. The best part is after I graduate there is an alumni program. The care doesnt stop at outpatient. The care continues for support with Sandstone family through the app where there are support groups, game nights, check ins, and a community who has been there and done that. When I say Sandstone is the absolute best care I have had, I mean it. I could not express my gratitude and amazement. I have bragged about them to everyone I know. The therapists actually care and are not there for just a check. My post does not even express how much they have done for me, but its amazing that they have so many programs. Its unheard of having a young adult group, and that was perfect for me. Everything from adolescent to adult is covered here. The young adult group provided such insight for me and relativity with people my own age.

She does this about every 15 minutes and I talked to the doctor and he said that her oxygen level was at 98 which is good and that she appears to be okay. I explained to him that I had a food stuck in my throat last year and at Riverside Regional in NN VA they said that my oxygen level was in the 90s, but still yet, I could barely breath and they made me wait in the emergency room for approx. 3 hours then took me to an observation room to wait until the morning when they would finally remove the stuck food from my esophagus. The doctor at Regency lacks compassion also. The nurse came in and put a oxygen up to her nose and that's supposed to be the cure, but my aunt is still struggling to breathe. When I suggested that they take my aunt to the hospital to see if there's fluid in her lungs he said once again that her Oxygen level is fine but then I said, but my aunt is struggling to breathe, she's barely holding on and this has been going on for several weeks now. I guess they're waiting for her to have a stroke from stress then die. I guess that will solve their problem of poor service and lack of compassion for my aunt. May God forbid this from happening to my aunt and others in nursing homes.

Quite simply, this facility houses far more patients than it is equipped to handle and has…read moreabsolutely atrocious consistency and structure. I struggle to give one star due solely to the fact that many of the lower level staff genuinely put effort into recovery. However, this particular franchise of Avenues is far from what could be considered rehabilitation. Do your do diligence and research how atrocious this facilities relapse/AMA/repeat patient rates are... problems: ALL medications (including even vitamins) are to be provided through the avenues provider, which causes a ridiculous amount of backup and confusion. I personally was handed medications that interact with each other on multiple occasions. It also took nearly a week for them to even get me vitamin B12... which I am already prescribed. Upon arrival and completing intake I was told they couldn't find my bed and after 2 hours of me sitting in a waiting area, I was informed that they just forgot to put it in the computer that they needed to reset the bed. They then proceeded to tell me absolutely nothing about the layout of the building or even a morsel of information about what I was supposed to do. No tour... no schedule... no introduction. This is the case for most all incoming patients. It is a confusing nightmare about where to go, what to do, and when to do it. Everything is obscure and very unorganized. They are constantly doing superficial maintenance on the building rather than fixing issues. We were all forced outside on one occasion as they tested the pipes (while it was 45 degrees and raining might I add). Roughly half of the bedrooms on the second floor were having the floors replaced due to the shower having improper drainage while patients were still housed in them. The one working elevator in the whole building went down 5 separate times; forcing all disabled individuals to get stuck on whatever floor they were on. The sprinkler system even malfunctioned and spray stagnant water and mold all over one of the rooms and the patients inside it, causing everyone to have to remain on the bottom floor for over 4 hours. Finally, the cherry on top, is the failure to even remotely abide by the very contract that all patients sign when they enter the facility. The grievance form box is REQUIRED to be checked and followed up on every 24 hours. This very simply... did not happen. At one point, the box had gotten so full for the past week or 2 of forms, that nobody could submit new ones. The BHT staff acted as if it was not their job to help, leading us to go to different member of staff who would inevitably say something similar. That cycle of blame is this entire faculty and system in a nut shell; its never anyone's fault and the patients pay the price. In total; it is VERY chaotic. That is frankly the opposite of what a rehab center should be. Their are fights (verbal or physical) almost daily. Something breaks MORE than daily. They inevitably will probably make a mistake regarding medication. They will tell you to write grievance forms about all issues and then proceed to either get rid of the form (one of my grievances involved a physical threat ON CAMERA IN FRONT OF STAFF and it magically disappeared) or just act like it never existed. But hey... they have branded shower curtains for the showers that dont pass code for being handicap accessible. They give you a fancy branded notebook even though they dont enough AA books. And after everything is done... they will happily take more money from you and transfer you directly to another avenues facility without even explaining to you what PHP, IOP, or stepdown programs even are. Just don't go here...

Every aspect of this facility is troublesome and filled with neglect. I hope that people find themselves and find recovery from their addictions, even with this horrible facility, but I am astonished that they haven't been hit with criminal charges. Question everything, and if you have to go here, please find someone who can advocate for you, civil, health, and human rights. All of these rights were violated for me. The bad very much outweighs the good.
