Stopped into Tacos 22 and was really impressed. It's a very clean spot that feels more geared toward carryout, but they do have a handful of seats (around 12-16) if you want to stay and eat. We tried both the mild and medium salsas, and they nailed it--great flavor and consistency, not too chunky and not too runny. The street tacos were fantastic, and the quesadilla did not disappoint. But the real surprise? The wings. Absolutely amazing and not something you always expect at a taco spot. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and well-prepared. Tacos22 hit my IG feed! I saw so many people check this place out which definitely made me want to check it out too. Located in a strip mall, there is ample parking. The restaurant is low key with approximately 5 tables for indoor seating. We ordered the Crunchwrap, a taco plate, and 3 tacos for dine in. All orders come in styrofoam regardless if you're dining in. It's pretty basic if you decide to each there. There were a ton of people ordering food to go. My Crunchwrap was great! I ordered it with steak. I love Taco Bell's Crunchwrap so this was definitely elevated with quality ingredients. My mom enjoyed her chicken taco plate. My husband ordered 3 tacos. Additionally, we ordered a side of chips and salsa. Chips with crispy. Overall, our food was great. It was a little expensive compared to other places like Alchile. Especially since we thought we were going to a full service restaurant. The pricing is more on point with a dine in restaurant. The cashier was super friendly! I had a meeting in Livonia and wanted some nachos. I found Tacos22 on Yelp and it had good reviews. It's located in a strip mall and is easy to miss. I ordered the loaded nachos and an el fuego taco. My food was ready in less that 10 minutes and everything was hot. The taco was flavorful but not as spicy as I expected. The nachos were the star of the show. They took the term loaded to a new level. There were toppings in between the layers of chips instead of just on top. The portion is huge and worth the price. Best California Burrito in Metro Detroit?!?! I think it's the best I've had in the area. I've seen this on social media so I was glad to finally try it. I ordered the California burrito which I love ordering when a place has it. I thought it was great. The ratio was on point. A good amount of tender and well flavored steak. Crispy french fries that were noticeable but didn't have so many as to overpower everything else. Nice amount of guac in every bite. Very melty cheese to round it all up. Tacos22 showed up on my IG feed before I left town for this current trip. They opened at the beginning of December so the operation was not even a month old when I visited recently. The taco shop was located in an end suite of a small strip mall in Livonia. The inside was clean, but oddly only had five tables when more seating could have been added to maximize the space. I think most of their customers ordered take-out or third party delivery because I noticed multiple pickups while I was there. Two menu screens hung high above and behind the service counter. I found it easier to look at the two-sided paper takeout menu. Quesadillas, crunch wraps, bowls, burritos, tortas, fries, nachos, and wings were the other food categories besides tacos. Proteins were separated into basic and premium options (birria, shrimp) with the latter costing one or two dollars more depending on the size of an item. Six Signature Tacos were available for $5.99 each. I chose two of them (Trompo, El Fuego) along with a build your own taco (birria). Each one was served on double corn tortillas. The first signature taco was made up of al pastor pork, grilled pineapple, onion, cilantro, and chipotle crema. The second signature taco contained chargrilled steak, roasted jalapeno & garlic aioli, fire-roasted corn salsa, pickled red onions, and cilantro. The birria taco featured stewed beef, diced onions, and cilantro. The size of the tacos was decent for the price. I liked the Trompo the best because of the fruitiness from the pineapple bits to contrast the savory pork. The birria meat was dry and needed consomme. You could get that and cheese as a Quesabirria taco, also for $5.99. What I selected was a plain Birria taco without the cheese. It should have cost $3.59 plus one dollar more for the premium protein. For some reason, I was charged two dollars extra and received no consomme. I will chalk it up as an error that inadvertently happened as part of the growth curve of a new business. Living in a part of the country where taquerias are ubiquitous, I thought the products I tried at Tacos22 were solid as reflected in my rating. read more

This restaurant broke my chain of bland/mild food and I am thankful. High & low top tables available. Order right in front of the door. I'd have liked the Garlic aioli that came with the wings to be more pungent but that's bc I eat garlic every day in bulk lol. It was not bad. The sauce on the wings was good itself! I was craving nachos and discovered this new place! I ordered the chicken nachos and the portion was HUGE. Service was quick and the space was clean and even had seating inside. Staff were friendly and very busy. The place was very busy every table was taken. It seemed to be very well liked. They had good music playing. I ordered the lunch special which you think you are getting a deal or something but really paying more for less I guess. It says 2 tacos and 2 sides and a drink for $14.99. There is an upgrade for shrimp which it says +$3 but it doesn't say it is an addition $3 per taco it's actually $6 add on. Then the guacamole is additional $2. Like I would say ok shrimp additional $3 but for each taco NO WAY! Which they don't tell you until you pay. So my so called $14.98 lunch special was actually almost $25 The tacos prices of the regular menu is for a Baja 22 which is a shrimp taco is $5.99 Now for the taste the guacamole as bland had no flavor the beans were good the shrimp tacos themselves the tortillas was soft and soggy before adding sauce. The shrimp didn't have much flavor and Carly anything in the taco. The sauce had good flavor which saved the taco but I had to drench it in the sauce. I won't be going back. I do not recommend. Not many tables available, but you can order and sit down to eat. We were able to sit down at a table of four. I'm sure you could make another table of four if needed. The wait time was faster than expected for as busy as they were maybe because we were dying in customers not sure but was happy with the wait time. Food was really good and delicious. Went on a Tuesday. They do not offer Taco Tuesday deals. That was disappointing. I ordered the Taco Plate deal. 2 Tacos and rice and beans. I got double rice. The rice needs more flavor. I would not bother to get the rice again. We ordered the mild salsa and chips. It was quite spicy, chips were okay. I got the hard shell Chicken and a Steak hard shell Tacos. They were the best Taco I have ever had. But bring your own Mexican cheese. This place charges .75 cents a Taco if you want cheese. My husband ordered the Chicken Quesadilla. He ordered queso cheese on it. He thought it was delicious. It came with some guacamole, it was exceptionally good. We really like the food. The decor of the restaurant makes you want to get takeout and go home. It's stark and boring. But the Tacos, Quesadillas, guacamole are well worth the trip to get takeout. read more

My daughter and I tried Tacos22 at her request. I ordered a steak crunch wrap and she had a supreme burrito. We got there an hour before they closed so they didn't have any beans for her burrito. My Crunchwrap came as advertised. The wait wasn't long and the food was good. The Crunchwrap had a kick to it, which I liked. My daughter didn't say what she liked about the burrito, but she did. Food was great! Crunch Wrap was 8.5/10, but $16! Birra taco was good, but it could have used a bit more meat. Elites was fine, but probably my least favorite of all the places I've tried (many). It was basically just corn, Cotija cheese and cilantro (4oz) for $3. Rice was very good and exactly the way we like it. Beans were different... the coloring was more red than I'm accustomed to, so I'm assuming they put hot sauce in. Definitely more flavorful than most refried beans, but I prefer the original. Guacamole was excellent. Chips were hot and excellent. All the food was really good, but the portions are very small. Normally when I buy a side of rice and a side of beans, it's in a bigger tray, but these were in small cups the size of what most restaurants include with a meal and they charged $3.99 for each side (8 oz). Really? An 8 ounce cup of rice for $4?! Your food is good. I understand inflation. But you are still overpriced. I would love to visit your establishment more, but I will not frequent it at the current prices. OVER $40 for the order. read more
