We chose this place for our book club meeting and they did NOT disappoint. To start, the place is gorgeous! There was so much too to see and the decor was incredible. The service was very attentive and we had no trouble getting our party of 6 fed. They were also very accommodating since we had two kiddos with us and sat them right next to us at their own table. Since they're 10 they were treated with respect and serviced just like our adult table. That was a very nice touch. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the trio dip as a start ( the group delved in before a pic!) but the guac was fresh and the queso was the right amount of spice. We each ordered a unique entree. I went with the steak fajitas and as expected it came out on a sizzling hot plate with plenty of fixin's on the side. I had enough for leftovers the next day and it was just as good! Everyone enjoyed their dishes and raved on the flavor and freshness. You've got lots of options! read more

I went on a Thursday night around 6 and I had no wait getting a table! Chips and salsa came out very quickly, the chips were warm and fresh, and the salsa was delicious! They also offer a "build your own margarita," I got a 12OZ watermelon&strawberry blended marg, super good! Our food came out very quickly after we ordered. It all looked beautiful, and the quesabirrias were so good!! The consume it came with was delicious. For the amount of food you get, it is very reasonably priced. Cute decor on the inside, and indoor&outdoor seating available. I will be coming again! read more

Nice clean restaurant with great friendly staff. The chorizo con queso was delicious as were the beef enchiladas. Great icy cold stein of Pacifico as well. This is a nice restaurant with good food. read more

This is the second time I've been to Taques Bar and Grill with a large group. The place has a great vibe and beautiful decor. Lots of accents and details to please the eye, and the chairs are comfortable. The food is delicious and quite affordable, especially for brunch. House chips and salsa are provided at the start. Both are fresh and delicious with just the right amount of spice. Some of the best I've had. The drinks are pretty and tasty. The service was good overall, though not as attentive as we'd like this time. We had to look for our server several times, but it was busy. Certainly I'll be back and would recommend! read more

We came on a Friday around 6 and got a table right away. It's got kinda fancy vibes but it isn't. I got a margarita in a spin glass and didn't know what that was, and was delighted to find out that it's literally a glass that comes with a little holder that allows you to spin it. It just spins. I liked it. I was afraid it was going to be a bright green syrupy margarita because I got the cheapest one and they had more expensive ones but it was good. We got quesabirria quesadillas and flautas too which were also great read more

A group of 6 of us went to Taques for dinner on a Sunday night. The place is kind of small, but very cheerfully decorated. My nephew commented that it looked kind of like a cross between Mexican and Hawaiian decor. Our server (Elias?) was very friendly and efficient. But, I found the food rather expensive for what it was. (Mexican food is usually pretty inexpensive, but this was not.) I had the Golden Burrito. It was ok, nothing objectionable, but it wasn't as flavorful as the food at most other Mexican restaurants I've been to. I also found the chips rather lackluster; definitely not homemade and not particularly tasty. I'm usually a sucker for the chips, and I only had a few of these. I don't know that I'd come here again on my own, but I wouldn't object if I was with someone else who wanted to return. read more

What a gorgeous inside and a great vibe! Service was fast and kind but never rushed. We had reservations and seated immediately. Drinks were simply FANTASTIC. Tacos were good and artfully presented but needed more flavor. The two tacos came with amazing salsa/sauce but the four tacos did not. Would go back for drinks and atmosphere and try another dish. read more

Food is always very good here, and the service is friendly. The outdoor patio is very nice on a pleasant weather day, and because it is at the back of the restaurant, you don't get all of the road notes. All of the food I've tried has been very tasty and well presented. The drinks are outstanding. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in the area. read more

The service was subpar. Though it was the waitress and not everything or anyone else. We feel like she forgot about us since we were in the corner near the bathroom. We kept seeing her service other tables. We had to flag her multiple times to get drinks. However, the food here was amazing! You could taste the fresh ingredients. Loved their tacos which I forgot to snap a picture of. I was super hungry. Also. During the day the ambiance of this place is cute. When it starts becoming nightfall the place changes into a vibe. Definitely recommend going at night. read more

Update: Arturo, you are not the same person we spoke to that night. You claim you're the owner but the guy that came up to us that night claimed HE was the owner and his name was Anthony. Also, your picture doesn't match the guy we spoke to that night. So you guys are just trying to make a ridicule of yourselves and you don't have your facts things straight. On top of that you decide to leave this petty, inaccurate, and inconsistent response. THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS, your customers were treated disrespectfully from the start to the end! But if you really want to make this about time, let it be known that when we left three other parties came in, so that begs the question, did you also treat them the way I was treated? I urge you to please sort out your business and do better so that this doesn't happen to another customer. just like how you have the right to not serve whom you please. I have the right to leave a review of my experience and your response to it, and to that night, shows your true colors and intentions. read more

Such a beautiful and quant restaurant outside of the downtown area. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. We went towards the end of the night, so they had ran out of the queso dip. We will definitely be back to try some. The only thing I did not like was the mocktail mojito. It tasted nothing like mint and was really sour. Other than that everything was fantastic! read more

Another 5-star experience! What a pleasure to eat and enjoy Taques bar and grill! From start to finish, everything hits just right! The margaritas are amazing and refreshing! The aesthetics and atmosphere are such a vibe! It's pretty and cool at the same time. It is also a comfortable space for both large and small groups! Taques is also very welcoming, friendly and fun! The menu offers great variety and house made favorites! This visit, we had both chicken and steak street tacos, the chorizo queso and delicious shrimp tempura tacos! Everything was scrumptious! We just cannot wait to return! read more

The inside is so cozy and aesthetically pleasing at the same time! The Tacques margaritas were really tasty and not too strong (I'm not big on the taste of alcohol although they had some pretty awesome mocktails available). We got a large strawberry margarita and a small mango margarita. Loved both of them and the glassware was so cute. We ordered the ceviche and esquites as our appetizer in addition to our complimentary basket of chips and salsa and put in our taco orders at the same time. Everything came out pretty quickly one after the other without feeling overwhelmed and was plated beautifully. Bonus points for the yummy salsa verde that came with the tacos! Every dish tasted amazing and I'm actually looking forward to coming here again! Loved everything about the place. read more

I've had so much bland Mexican food in Farmington I was surprised that the place has broken that streak. Flavorful food. Awesome salsas, beans were made from scratch. Everyone in our table was very happy with their meal. Everything tasted fresh and came out piping hot. Although the decor is a bit confusing... It's actually very pleasant inside and they have outdoor seating as well. Staff work together nicely... It was very apparent that they help each other out so that nobody is left disappointed with their food. Excited to find something this tasty in Farmington read more

I loved the ambiance in the restaurant! The menu did confuse me a bit though and while I thought the food was good, I thought the prices were a bit high compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area for similar quality food. I will say if you want a cool ambiance though and don't mind the higher prices, this place is definitely worth checking out at least once! I think this would be a cool date night spot for sure!! read more

Came on a Saturday night with reservations. I was mesmerized by the interior! It's colorful, warming, and festive all in one. The staff were polite and welcoming. Once seated I ordered the pomegranate margarita and ceviche, both which were delicious! The ceviche was so beautifully presented and was so light with a refreshing flavor. It was perfect. For food we ordered the molcajete, taco de pescado, and tampiquena. We loved how everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was a very enjoyable meal. I've gotten takeout from here a few times and it's been good but dining in was a completely different experience... food was FAST, too fast maybe? Still good. I was bummed they didn't have fajitas, because almost all Mexican places do. They let you have one basket of chips for free which was fine for just the two of us. Service was not super great, didn't check on us until we were done eating. My biggest complaint is the chairs to be honest. They are SO narrow and uncomfortable. Granted, sure, I'm chubby but even my thinner bf was not comfortable. The chairs basically dig into your thighs, didn't make the experience super comfortable. Even if you're thin, if you have any thighs at all, get a booth. read more

I ordered a takeout from this restaurant, and found the outside of the restaurant brightly lit and very festive. Inside the bar & grille was packed and very busy. So after a 15 minute wait I received my call in order. The roast pork and rice are delicious and so are the refried beans. I'm hoping next time to get a table and have drinks. This place is definitely worth checking out and I noticed that they're very kid friendly. read more

I went here on a random Thursday night at just before 7:00. They were fairly busy, but our group of 6 women didn't have to wait. -Chips and salsa were brought out quickly, but only one basket for two tables pushed together. -We ordered 4 different flavors on margaritas in 2 different sizes. One was the wrong size and one was the wrong flavor, but all were really good. -Our servers were so sweet and very helpful. Food presentation was nice, I was ready to dig in! Our group tried several different entrees and everyone was pleased. I ordered the Poblano Pasta. Everyone stared at the bowl in shock. The portion was so small. With nothing on the side to help round it out it was disappointing. The flavor was really good. I did not, however, enjoy the jagged piece of plastic in the pasta. The portion size ended up not being an issue because I lost my appetite. The servers were baffled and very apologetic. I did get the entree comp'ed. I get it, I've worked in restaurants. It happens. The restaurant itself is really cute. I was shocked (not in a bad way at all!) to see a bidet in the bathroom! I've never seen that before is a public bathroom. Nice touch. Overall, I feel like they need a little fine tuning but it's definitely a welcome addition to downtown Farmington, especially since the street food restaurant went soooo downhill after changing owners and management. Will I return? Maybe. I could see myself enjoying a margarita with the guacamole during outside. read more

Beautiful decor as you can see! Tucked away in the back of the complex , so that was nice. Didn't get pics of the patio but it was beautiful and had group seating available. Poblano queso was thick. But it tasted fresh. Some people might not like the consistency. I really really enjoyed my flounder fish taco!! The pineapple salsa and spicy sauce was delicious on top. My friend got the fajitas, it was called something else I forgot. She liked it. It was seasoned but not too much. You get chips and salsa complementary. I'd go again, there was a few things I could get as a pescatarian. read more

We were not huge Mexican restaurant fans before we came here. That changed with our first visit here. We now come here regularly. When you walk into this restaurant you can tell the owners (family) take pride in the details. The decor is fun and upbeat. Everything is clean. Servers and bartenders are great. The tables are filled with people enjoying themselves. We usually sit at the bar and enjoy a delicious cocktail and order a meal to go. Most of the people we chat with their are regulars. We enjoy freshly made chips and salsa while we wait for our food. They have a varied menu. We particularly enjoy their esquites, street tacos, chili relleno and golden burrito. Every plate that comes out of the kitchen looks delicious. There is a lot on the menu we still need to try. read more

I was out this way on a Sunday afternoon in the heat and needed something to eat badly. I'm always on the hunt to try something new and this place popped up in downtown Farmington. It looked really good from the internet so I drove over and went inside. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the place was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon. many people dining here even in this weather. That's a good sign! The place is at the end of a strip mall so I would've never found it from the road. The menu has lots to offer and I was torn about what to get. I sat at the bar since it was rather busy and my server answered my questions about the food that I had. I was eyeing their street tacos and after some discussion I decided that it was too much so I went with some a al carte items instead. (thank you waitress!) The food itself was fantastic and I probably could've gotten another taco but I didn't want to overeat with the heat and a long drive home. The rice I ordered was good and not terribly spicy. I passed on refried beans this time around because I wasn't really feeling it. Overall for my two tacos, rice and drink it was $13.58. If I had gotten the full taco meal, it would've been 4 tacos, rice and beans for about $16.00 but I would've not been able to finish it all which is why I didn't order it. My server was great but disappeared at times but when I needed her I was able to flag her down. The place isn't super huge with just enough seating to have enough people of varying party sizes in here. There's a small waiting area if the weather's poor along with a decent amount of parking available. I would gladly return in the future for more! read more

Taques Bar and Grill is hip and poppin'! The place was packed (make a reservation.) The lights are dim but accent colored lights are a glow from the wall accessories/decor. Such as a pretty cool large image of the moon (my kids were mesmerized by it.) Overall, a really good vibe happening here but it's loud. You've been warned. The strawberry margherita was tasty (a little too much liquor when I prefer to taste the strawberry.) The birria tacos, not the best. They were ok. The Chorizo queso was like one solid piece of cheese. I liked the flavor but other queso's have been easier to eat. The winning bite was a little chorizo queso with a little sour cream and birria consome. Your welcome! My kids both had kids meals (one burrito and one tenders.) Good portions and affordable. Overall I thought this is a great spot for girls night but if you are looking for intimate and able to have good conversation, choose another restaurant. True score: 3.5 read more

I must say I wasn't extremely excited about eating here as I visited the first week they opened and while it was OK, I didn't think they would make it. The location is a little bit off the road and they were struggling with service. Well I am here to tell you that they have gotten it together and knocked it out of the park. I have since been back twice and ordered tortilla soup as a takeout. It was that good. The street tacos were amazing and the other dish ordered by our party was amazing too. See picture, it has cactus leaves hanging out the side. I was so mad at myself because the leftovers we took home were left in the car overnight and we couldn't eat them. This is a fantastic restaurant in Farmington Hills. I'm glad to see they are doing well. I'll definitely be back. Forgot to mention, their cocktails were excellent too. I found my new "go to" Mexican restaurant. The service was fantastic. Really helpful with helping us choose our meals. Although the restaurant was smaller than what it seemed like online, it was really nice and decorative. We started off with the Ceviche De Camarón. A fantastic starter. The avocado really pulled the flavors together. The Molcajete was really good. Great portion size. I didn't care for the cactus but everything else made up for it. The Tampiqueña was exquisite. The steak was cooked perfectly and the enchilada was the surprise winner of that dish. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. read more

Really not impressed. Very small venue and crowded. Weird birdcage in the middle of the floor for aesthetic... at the back end of a strip mall and if you didn't know about it, you'd never know it was there. Patio is even worse, small and looks out over the parking lot and back brick walls. Chips and salsa are given at the start and the salsa is good. Asked for the hot salsa and it wasn't good. Not very spicy/ hot nor any taste; just like dirty water. Ordered the steak which is a 12 oz ribeye asado. Asked for it cooked medium it came to me still mooing (like purple in the middle). I had to send it back to be cooked further. Very fatty but well seasoned. Came with onions and rice and pico. Nothing special, much like this place as a whole. read more
