There was no line when we arrived but people were waiting for their order. I was also bummed that they charged for limes and pickled jalapeños. We got: - Burrito Bowl w/ Al Pastor - Supreme Burrito w/ Carne Asada They were both decent, but nothing stood out and didn't seem as authentic-tasting. I recently stopped by the Tacos Sonora food truck during a day trip to Mariposa. I was hoping to find better Mexican food than I've been able to find in Yosemite Valley. Out of the two taco trucks in the Pioneer Market parking lot, I chose this one because it had guacamole on the menu, and the other truck didn't. A brightly colored sign said: Try our burrito bowl! $10. So, I did. I ordered the burrito bowl with carne asada. The burrito bowl was supposed to come with meat, beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and salsa. The carne asada was okay, but not great. The guacamole kind of tasted like it had sour cream or mayonnaise in it. There didn't seem to be any salsa in the burrito bowl at all, even though the sign advertised that it came with salsa. I thought the portion size was fair enough for $10, but the flavor wasn't really there. It tasted like something I could have ordered from an American restaurant. Overall, this was nowhere near the best Mexican food I've ever had, but it was at least better than that one place in the valley. read more

Basic. Chose this Mexican spot looking at Castillo's overpriced menu, which is another local Mexican restaurant in the Mariposa area. You really do get what you pay for with this taco truck. Ordered the Burrito Supreme with carnitas. "Supreme" included "cilantro, onions, guac, sour cream, tomatoes, rice, and beans". The burrito I ate only had some meat and mostly beans and rice. Literally could not find any other ingredient in it. The meat was soft, but not flavorful. And the beans and rice just made the burrito all mush. And on top of that, the green salsa was mid - lacked flavor as well. Did not buy anything else from this truck. Honestly, would not go back even if it were the only hot food option available to me. If you're hungry on a weekday, go early or late, because quite a line forms right at lunch time! They're open at about 9:30, and on weekdays they're there until 8. We stopped in Mariposa after driving down 49 and needed stretch our legs and walk the dogs. Luckily we came across this taco truck behind the museum. The staff were super friendly and they kindly gave a homeless man some food and drink for free. We ordered a pastor burrito and an asada burrito supreme. Both came out quickly and for a small burrito, the pastor burrito was quite a good size. Just meat, cheese, onion, and cilantro. The pastor was seasoned super nice and almost a bit sweet, but perfectly balanced with the onion and cilantro. The asada burrito supreme definitely lived up to its name. The hot salsa left a nice lingering spice that was occasionally cooled by a bite with sour cream. The asada was delicious as well, but not quite as good as the pastor. This is a taco truck set up on a Mariposa street. I tried coming here twice while visiting Yosemite. The fist time was a Sunday. They are not open on Sunday. I had al pastor on my tacos. A friend had chicken. Both were very good. Mine had a roasted serrano chili with them. I asked for extra salsa. When the gal frowned at me, I explained I saw the sign saying I needed to pay 50 cents extra. Honestly, it should be free. Every taqueria in the LA area will give you free salsa, but it is what it is. At least they have a sign. While the food here is great, it is not a comfortable place to sit and eat. We got ours to go. They have a card table and two chairs set up if you want. However, they have a generator running to power the truck. It is noisy and smelly. If you want comfort and a sit down environment, go to the nearby Don Rubens. read more

The last time I went I asked for no beans, I got beans and immediately went back. They were so rude about it, like I did something wrong. They were being very condescending. When I walked up to the window, I was the only one there and no one was waiting for a meal, but there were three people inside. It still took a few minutes for someone to acknowledge me at the window, and when they did they basically said, "what do you want" (no greeting, no smile... I almost felt like I was an inconvenience to them). I almost decided to go to the next Food Truck, but I really wanted some good taco truck Mexican food so I stuck it out. I purchased an Asada burrito bowl that wasn't very flavorful, and when asked for salsa, I was told it would be a .50 charge for one small container. I questioned the charge, and then just told them to forget it (I had already purchased my meal so they would've had to create a whole new transaction for a .50 charge). Thankfully, they went ahead and comped me one tiny little container of salsa. I've never had to pay for salsa at a Mexican food restaurant or at a food truck. Often they have serve yourself options for salsa, cilantro, etc., without extra charges. Overall, not a great experience and wish I had made a different decision. read more

The food had flavor. Definitely not the best I've had, but decent for a small town. My issue was that the staff was not friendly at all. They were friendly to the man who was ordering before us so I figured it would be a good experience. I heard the lady speaking to her staff in Spanish so I figured maybe ordering in Spanish would be easier, but no. I had to repeat my order 4 times because she wasn't listening. From the beginning she seemed bothered that I began to order in Spanish. It's sad that it's our own people that treat us poorly. We found this little taco truck after a long day in Yosemite and it did not disappoint!!! The burritos were so cheap that we were worried they were going to be bite sized but they most definitely were not!! The meat was so tender that it melted in your mouth. I am a local and love supporting local businesses, however this place is not worth the time or money. First and foremost they do not keep their posted hours and you never know when they will be there open or when they decide to shut down early just because they feel like it. Second of all the food is terrible. The few times they have actually been open when they claim to be the food was not very good at all the meat did not have a good flavor. Don't order the nacho supreme unless you want a pound of beans and 3 pieces of meat I think what helps them stay in business is the fact the good taco truck in town isn't there everyday. Worst taco truck there ever has been. The close early whenever they feel as though they want to close and the do not acknowledge customers at the window. The closing sign states 7 pm I was there 6:45 which is not something I try to do to but I had just gotten back from a 3 day road trip and wanted a quick bite before bed. The food is mediocre at best. Ate here three different times from the taco truck at the Mariposa County Fair. Each time I ordered the same thing; 1 El Pastor Taco 1 Carne Asada Taco with everything AND limes. The first day it came w/sautéed onion and a radish slice but no lime. It was so good! Just wish I had my limes to squeeze on my tacos. 2nd & 3rd day no sautéed onion or radish (not a radish fan anyway) and still no limes.
