The portions are hefty, the prices are incredibly reasonable, the service is super fast, its open late, AND best of all, everything I've had (the carne asada & al pastor in particular) tastes so much better and more authentic than anything else we have in the city. If you're having trouble finding it, it's a tarp stand tent on Rainier adjacent to Buddha Brothers. Parking is limited, and the area can be a tad rough later in the day, but it's still most definitely worth a visit.

It has everything that you need wrapped into a beautiful tortilla. Your meat of choice (gotta go al pastor when you see a trompo like that...), actually FLAVORFUL beans and rice, melty cheese, and onions are all tucked away in a nice blanket. If you're driving home with this thing riding shot gun like I was, be prepared for it to be a bit messy, but that's a part of the experience. They also have all of the accoutrements outside of you want more onions, cilantro, or a combo of their exquisite salsas. Over 10 years ago when they only sold corn, and they're still making the best elote but now with some other tasty treats. My go to is "Mexican" style with mayo, cheese (Cotija-Aged Mexican Cheese), chill powder and lemon. Extra chili because I like it spicy! And in a cup so I won't ruin my outfit, only speaking by experience. Though I do prefer corn on the cob normally, I believe they use canned corn for the cup version. But with all the ingredients in a cup it's all good to me. Service is always friendly, and it is worth the wait if they have a line or lots of orders. Supporting this business makes me happiest most that I help to support my community.

They have different variations of toppings for their roasted corn cob on a stick. It comes out piping hot and slathered in toppings. Perfectly sweet and golden mango coated in chamoy and tajin. My current favorite treat for a hot day. It was a one-man operation when I visited so the wait was about 10 min for 3 items. It's parked off the side of the road next to a Mexican food truck. Street parking is available.

I caught up with Bikelava at the Des Moines Farmer's Market which was also the site of SeattleFoodTruck's Truck-In event earlier today. First, the man and woman who were there taking orders and cashiering were super friendly! I enjoy people that engage with their customers. Second, although they didn't have pistachio today (they make it!), they did have walnut and chocolate almond hazelnut. I am not a huge fan of walnut since I have discovered other flavors. I got the chocolate almond hazelnut. The baklava was beautiful! I love pretty food almost as much as I enjoy eating it (almost). The layers were flaky and filled with sweet, nutty, chocolately, hazelnutty goodness. Yes, those are all words. I enjoyed every bite and at $3 a piece, honestly, it's a steal. I've had plenty of tamale at restaurants and have driven to Yakima just to but what have been reviewed as the best Tamales in the U.S, which they are not. Either way. As I was steaming this per the directions given to me, I thought, "Wouldn't it be something if these tamales were filled with vegetables, because I hate vegetables. On the very first bite, I got nothing but vegetables, and when I forked into the middle it was clear these tamales were 50% vegetable. I immediately slid them off my plate and into the trash. Nearly $30 wasted for a product not made traditionally. I could have asked about the contents, but I had no indication that I should and since they were advertised as pork, I assumed that is what I was getting.
