I really don't understand how can you decide to go for a Mexican food business with out doing you're homework first on food and service. How you got 75 reviews-Stars on Yelp I don't know. Please take my review and get better, get recipes from a good Mexican chef from the internet and try many times until you're get the best. I love Mexican food is just hard to find good places... This place was good. We had Carnitas tacos and a bowl of menudo. The only reason I'm giving this palace 3 stars because we asked if they still had Menudo and they said yes. The bowl we were served was literally had 10 pieces of tripe and hominy. The rest was juice. I was definitely still hungry and disappointed because the bowls cost about $8-9 each. This place is the bomb!! The tacos are truly authentic. I ordered one carnitas and one asada. The atmosphere was fantastic, very quirky and unique. They have a really cool outdoor seating area, with a mural on the wall. This place would be great for photo ops and a great lunch!! I have been searching woefully since I moved from Santa Cruz ca to Vidor for some taste of home. I have been left time and time again in a depression over canned cheese and corn where it shouldn't be, white rice in a burrito (like what) and beans that are soulless. The things I have put in my mouth would have made my tia beat me. But today... I cried with joy finally real food. Thank you. I've only been here twice but the service is fast and their burrito with carne asada is amazing!!!

The one star is not for the food it's because I never got to go inside,I got there at 9am realize they weren't going to open until 9:30am. 9:30 am came around and the whole time I was there waiting the lady's never came to open the door or at least tell me they weren't going to open until later in the day. My point across they seen me wait there for about 45 minutes and they never open the freaking door,waisted my time but I'm still urging to come back next time to try there barbacoa tacos. Another yelp find! We went off the highway to get to this place. It was worth the trip. It not much to look at on the outside, but the beauty of this place is the food. The food was authentic and delicious. The refried beens were not overly cooked and still had a bite to them. I ordered the fiery pork tacos and they were delicious. My partner ordered the beef burrito. He needed two hands to eat it. It was huge and he enjoyed it. Not sure when I will be in the area again, but would definitely come back. Me Gusta Tacos La Bamba! I have heard so many good things about this spot which is half video store, half Mexican food restaurant. This being my first time to eat here, I decided to try the carnitas, barbacoa, and the pollo tacos. I loved the barbacoa, the pollo was good and not a fan of the carnitas, maybe a fluke, maybe it just was bad. Did I mention I loved the barbacoa? The tacos were simple with cilantro and onions on a corn tortilla....perfect. There's also a bunch of other stuff on the menu from tortas to shrimp cocktail. I will definitely be hittin' this place up again, maybe for breakfast tomorrow. I hear there's another location on College Street too. Check it out, not much like this is little ol' Beaumont. If you turn around and leave, you'll be sorry that you let confusion get the best of you. My boyfriend and I stopped at this place on our road trip from Atlanta to LA and we were not disappointed. I got the chicken plate and my boyfriend got a burrito. Had lunch here today. Wife had the flautas and an asada taco. I had the barbacoa burrito. The food was delicious and fresh. The burrito was huge, but the barbacoa was kind of runny, causing the burrito to completely fall apart half way through it, but it was very tasty. The flautas were awesome, and so was the asada taco, except the taco was the smallest taco I have ever seen. Also, HORCHATA! It's extremely hard to find a place around here that has horchata, and they do. All in all, I'll definitely eat here again, probably get the asada burrito next time. read more

Visiting family in the area and we had taken the family out to the Texas Energy Museum (better than I expected) and used trusty Yelp for a near by place for lunch! Very pleased with the choice to visit Tacos La Bamba. Beautifully authentic. All my kids got fajita or chicken tacos and my hubby went for a burrito that was huge and tasty. I had the best though! I ordered Sopes: kinda like a tostada and a gordita made out and made a scrumptious love child they called Sope! Mmmm I got to choose 3 different meats: chicken, Barbacoa, and Pastor. Pastor (spicy pork) was my favorite!!! Still thinking about it a week later. The Sopes had super fresh toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, queso fresco! My eternal search for the Holy Grail of Mexican food has brought me to La Bamba. At first site, the half movie rental store and half restaurant may have you scratching your head and you may want to turn away, but I recommend you continue in. Their menu is beautifully simple yet covers nearly everything. From Yelp, I ordered a carnitas burrito and a steak taco. After sitting down, my order was prepared quickly. The taco was easiest to inspect. The steak looked moist and the vegetables looked fresh. You are given a choice of red or green salsa on the side. I opted for green, but you can have both if you want. After pouring on some salsa, I took my first bite and was delighted. The taco tasted like it came from an amazing street vendor. After my burrito, I ordered another spicy port taco. The La Bamba's burritos are big and could easily make two meals. After taking my first bite, you could see the same great meat and vegetables as in the taco, but upon my second bite, I got a big mouthful of re-fried beans that were a little on the dry side. Just like your father might say, " I am not mad just disappointed." Luckily, I found solace in some taco sauce. For a drink, I ordered what tasted like a great cinnamon dessert, Horcata. La Bamba also has some other authentic Mexican drinks, but I can't remember their names. While I only found La Bamba to be mediocre, I know I'll be back for their tortas. Hasta luego. read more

These might be the best tacos I've ever had. We had the pulled pork, barbacoa and al pastor. I liked all of them, but the tacos al pastor were my favorite. I'm not a big fan of guac so I had queso fresco and onions on mine. Get them on corn tortilla for the real deal. The sauces were great too, but the tacos were flavorful enough without them. Only weak spot is that the tacos are so small, so I'd recommend three per person. The price is right though, so that might not even matter. read more
