I love La Familia de Meza and their taco truck because (1) their "pastor" burritos are delicious and (2) they are conveniently close to where I live... on my most recent visit, I wasn't super hungry so I just went with three tacos al pastor, with everything and ask for "caliente"! not only are the Meza's great at authentic Mexican street fare, they are FA$T -- muy RAPPIDO! if you're near Longfellow and E. 1st Ave., and your tummy growls, go get some tacos... and if you're really hungry, get a burrito tambien! We love this taco truck. It is open almost all days, but not super late at night. The truck is not cute, but the food is so great. We love the service. Everyone is super nice and they get your order right the first time. We just love all their tacos and burritos. Their shrimp with so much wonderful cheese on a corn tortilla is amazing and I could get a few of those. The nachos are so good and any taco you order with cheese has the best cheese and there is a lot of it. The prices are great and the place is kept clean. They have tables outside if you want to do that. Most take it to go. Whether they deliver I don't know. I love a great taco truck. This is a great one. Have fun. read more

There is not one thing fancy about this taco truck. It does not have cute signage nor is it painted in bright colors. I care not. It is kept very clean inside and some of the best burritos and tacos you will find within 50 miles. If you ever have the chance go there and give them a try. They work hard for their money. I love this place. I always go when I am anywhere near there. I get beef tacos with cheese. That is all I order on mine, but you can get more stuff. I also have a beef burrito with cheese and beans. I am in heaven. The service is super fast, they work fast. They are nice to everyone. Their are just a few tables outside but I have never had a problem getting a seat because most people eat in their cars or just take it away. They keep those tables nice and clean. When I was a vegetarian in highschool going to the place after school on the way back to my aunt's was the best. Their vegetarian nachos had rice on them. It was awesome. I really enjoyed these tacos. I tried the al pastor, the pollo, and the carne asada. All good. The pork and beef were a little spicier, which I liked better. I thought the chicken needed more flavor. The service was quick and friendly. The price was unbelievable: $1 per taco. Awesome. If you're in Chico, you have to try these. Note: This is a taco truck. I rated it four stars. For me, yelp ratings are relative, so I'm not saying this is the same as a four star restaurant. Tacos El Tapatio is FIRE their quesabirria (not posted on the menu) is so good it honestly makes me angry. Tacos are bomb, as are the burritos and the tortas....oh the tortas! If your vegetarian getting the tacos veggie is surprisingly good, I've gotten them several times and it doesn't feel like your missing out. Some do a dry, crispy pastor-- some do a juicy. Tapatio does a perfectly spicy and juicy pastor burrito and its loaded. Tacos are still cheap and tasty, too. Just 2 doors down from Tony's liquor (which also has a taco stand) so you can grab a cold beer, sit in your car and enjoy. If you don't order it spicy, they will dial it back. read more

Tacos El Tapatio is one of Chico's taco trucks. I've tried several taco trucks but Tacos El Tapatio is my default. It's the taste of their food that keeps me coming back. Pros: -The tacos are addictive. Simple yet tasty. -The burritos are huge and taste great. Only $4 for a loaded one that is a meal in itself. -The employees are shy, quiet, and nice. -Gives the impression of being clean, in and around the truck. -Food is always fresh. -Food comes with free foil. Cons: -More meat and less filler would be appreciated. -Meat isn't the highest quality. -Quesadillas look huge, but they are only meat and tortilla. Hands down, one of the best... no the best, places to get a burrito in Chico. Not only do the cooks always meet you with a great attitude, but their consistency is top notch time after time. The prices are great, lowest around, can't help but leave a tip every time due to the fast and friendly service. Order a loaded Super Burrito and a side of pickled jalapenos. Just the right size burrito, and always fresh ingredients. And a bonus, just walk across the street to InMo to work off the calories. I wish I could give a better rating but they've really been disappointing recently. They charge a dollar for avocado and then don't even put it on. This happens consistently. When I did receive it it was the smallest piece I the last bite of burrito. So small that 1 avocado probably lasts for 10 burritos. Super skimpy IF they even put it on. Second, they charge the same price for a veggie burrito as they do for a regular meat burrito even though it has nothing extra on it, only less. That's not a huge deal HOWEVER they absolutely refuse to substitute the meat for avocado. They still charge extra for it even though your buying a "veggie" burrito and getting less for the same money. I appreciate businesses that have ethics and treat their customers properly instead of trying to gauge them at every turn. read more

I have been going here after the gym before my tanning session for my 2 tongue tacos to tie me over till my next actual meal. I love the little corn tortillas that are fresh every time, the meat melts in your mouth, perfectly cooked. The salsa verde is tangy and very flavorful. And for $1/taco, seating outside and refueling after a workout this is perfect. And it seems very clean. I wish people seating at the tables would put off their smoking till after the meal...but can't really instill common sense in people that don't have enough to stop smoking to begin with. read more

I never comment on here, but this is by far the only good taco truck here in Chico. Yes, I've tried them all. I'm also a Mexican dude who has had tacos in most states of Mexico. This isn't Mexico of course and the styles are a bit different, but Tapatio has the only great tacos here. Everything else is mediocre. Tapatio cuts their meat real small, just how meat for tacos should be cut, so the texture of every bite is perfect. You don't get the huge nasty pieces of fat like everywhere else. Salsa is spicy as it should be and the carne asada meat doesn't taste like fried fish, it tastes like delicious carne asada. And nothing even comes close to their Pastor meat. Most times I get a burrito, one taco, and a drink for $5, (no tax included). I don't even care that the food is cheap, so this is a bonus. read more

Consistency is what I look for in taco trucks. There are so many different ones, so finding one where it is always good is tough. The ladies that work this truck pump out a lot of food and it's always good. And there quick to handle any complaints. The only one I could think of is once I received the wrong order.
