Horrible experience with this vendor charging us in full for a service with food and drinks and a minimum of 3hrs... never brought out the agua frescas and said we would have to pour it into something if we wanted it. stayed 2hrs and left claiming he had other events. he obviously didn't allow enough time in between and rushed my event with a bad attitude. leaving my guests to hear all the drama. read more

If you don't want headaches and stress on the day of your event, DO NOT hire them! He was unable to properly organize the events he had scheduled that day. When he arrived at my event, he spent about an hour providing poor service, and then after only about another 30 minutes, he said he had to leave because he had other events to attend and was already running late. He started arguing with us, even though the situation was completely his fault for not organizing his schedule properly. To avoid any more stress, we told him it would be better for him to leave because he had already ruined our day. He then said he would leave the food and drinks. But out of nowhere, he changed his mind and said he was taking everything with him. At that point, we simply ignored him and let him do whatever he wanted. We didn't want him there anymore. If you want to have a terrible experience and throw your money away, go ahead and hire them. Otherwise, DO NOT hire them. read more

My husband and I hired his business to cater our wedding anniversary welcome party on the beach in Santa Barbara after finding him on Instagram. Although I would have loved to have him make the tacos on the grill on the beach, unfortunately the city doesn't allow that. He was gracious enough to bring in everything already cooked and the food was fresh and so flavorful, all our guests loved the food and drinks he provided! Additionally he went above and beyond to recreate a grilled avocado dish we ate on our first dinner date. His attention to detail and flavor was phenomenal. Everything went perfect from the beginning when I called to the end when food was delivered and set up for my family! Bernardo was so patient explaining all the different food options over the phone, the best selections for the mixed group I was hosting, including kids and vegetarian options! His pricing was competitive for feeding the large group I had! The food was SO DELICIOUS! Delivered warm and ready! Everything was delivered on time!! Our caterer canceled the day before our event. I am SO GRATEFUL Bernardo said he would help me and make it work, as it was nearly midday when we spoke.  We ordered the carne asada, chicken tacos, and quesadillas with the option of tradition cheese or vegan cheese for those that are lactose-intolerant and vegans. They were able to eat the beans and rice, including the garden salad I requested. The aqua frescas were delicious. My favorite was the cucumber and lime. I'm very grateful that Bernardo showed up prepared and was a big hit with our employees! Thank you so much for accommodating our dietary needs. He is very reasonably priced and gives you a few options to choose from of the styles of food (tacos, quesadillas, nachos, bacon wrapped hot dogs, plus more) we chose tacos, hot dogs and quesadillas with chicken, carne, Al pastor and Birria. I booked with Tacos Cortes exactly 27 days in advance for my daughter's birthday/Halloween party. One week prior from the party I was contacted by Tacos Cortes saying that his assistant couldn't make it due to an emergency and the best he could do was arrive about an hour and half after our original contracted time. I waited a day to think about it and decided it wasn't possible since of the timing and being a kids party we couldn't feed our guests 3 hours after they arrived. After I discussed it with him he noticed that I was frustrated so he offered to cancel on his already booked event just to make it to us but we couldn't do that. It was hard knowing that we would cause other people the same pain so we canceled. It took another couple days to find a last minute taquero and about $150 more but well worth it. read more
