This was suppose to be beef quesadilla.

Nice people, poor customer service. Not so great food. Made me pay extra for wheat tortilla.

Great spot for Mexican food. It has the authentic Mexican taste, I wasn't expecting it from a taco place on the mall. It definitely caught me by surprise. We got nachos, tacos and a torta. Between the asada and the al pastor meat, I personally enjoyed the al pastor. It has the traditional adobo and pineapple flavor, a big reason for the five stars. Second reason what's the prompt service.

Torta de asada, lettuce was old, mayonnaise in just one spot, it wasn't good hoped for something better

Went in expecting to be more, ordered a torta de asada. Was not good as you can see in the picture, hope it can get better service and improve on the food.

OK this place is so fun! It's a cheap authentic Mexican place in the middle of a shopping mall?!

This place is a gem tucked away in a very early 00's esque shopping mall! The tacos are flavorful and very authentic-such a good place to stop for cheap food on the go. You can be full for under $10 easily! Thankful for the growth of the Hispanic population in Wenatchee. It's providing a lot better food variety, thank goodness. It can be hard to find enough places to eat in this town! Really wish we had this place in Seattle!!!

    nachos with canned cheese

Cold attitudes and terrible food. They need to turn their Mexican card in because this food tastes like it was made by a white woman from the Midwest. Chicken was dry and chewy. They can't even roll a burrito correctly, both ends open! Come on! Get with the program! My nachos had chewy beef on them with canned cheese. I'd be ashamed of the food if I was the owner. Don't waste your time.

I stopped on Wednesday Oct 9th, 2024 for a quick snack--I hadn't eaten all day, but didn't want to…read moreruin my upcoming dinner. Well forget that (sorry Sweetheart). The little snack was Taqueria's "Quesabirria"--sort of a taco on steroids! The Quesbirria amounts to a corn tortilla sandwich filled with cheese and beef brisket. It is served with a soufflé cup of consumé for dipping (think French dip beef au Jus)! See the pics. I swear, the consumé could be a meal in itself (maybe it is, I'll have to check the menu next time). I watched the kitchen chef ladle the consumé out of a huge caldron on the back burner, fill the foam cup and snap a lid on it. I had no idea that was going to be such a highlight of my to-go order. The corn tortilla was folded over in half like a quesadilla, but the meat filling was huge, more-so than the cheese. And the tortilla itself was supple--wet from dipping in the consumé--I think. The bbq'd taste of brisket, slow-roasted in onions and cilantro, took the flavor profile of the Quesabirria over-the-top of anything you would expect of a quesadilla pretending to be a taco. And as if that wasn't enough, the entry consists of TWO Quesabirrias with another soufflé cup of hot sauce. So here's what I did: I took a bite of the Quesadilla, sipped a small amount of consumé, then took another sip of hot sauce. I was able to make the consumé and the not sauce last through both Quesabirrias. Ask me if I'm ever coming back here again! HA! Taqueria la Cihualteca has won me over! I wish they had Tecati, but I'll settle for Modelo!

The main salon has opened up with the central wall removed and booths turned into tables and chairs. Very nice art on the walls, and excellent lighting, create a very inviting, warm atmosphere. The back wall of the restaurant is now a fully visible open bar with every drink you can imagine. I settled for the Michelada (the Hispanic version of a Bloody Mary with beer, not vodka-- absolutely delicious!) I had the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans, and I took shrimp in garlic butter sauce home to Sherrie-- my dish is shown. The red enchilada sauce was really excellent-- it made the dish! And the rice and beans were hands-down better than anywhere in Wenatchee. I posted photos of the menu, I hope that helps. They clearly have many more food options than the other photos imply. Search the menus and you'll find something you like-- including steak and seafood. I was told the owners are from the coastal area of Mexico and the menu options reflect that. What's not to like? 5-Stars!

Then the food we ordered was so disappointing from the first time we came when fairly new. Ceviche was disgusting! Not even cooked by citrus it was raw! Then they were out of avocados!
