I was excited to try this place but I was not a fan, neither were the four others. It could've just been our order - 3 supreme carne asada burritos and 2 regular carne asada burritos. The meat was tough or too fatty and too much rice in the burritos. The rice was pretty mushy as well. I liked their salsa bar, and those had good flavor. Service was fast and friendly. This is my favorite place to get tacos . I am basically here at least once a week. The price here is amazing and they don't skimp out. I am shocked it's never busy here. That's a plus for me because I get a place to eat at and the food comes out fast. This place is really small with a few tables available inside. They don't skimp out on meat. My favorite meat to get is the Al pastor and tripas. When I get carne asada fries it's soggy so I ask them to cook it crispy and it comes out delicious. My boyfriend likes carne asada but when I don't go with him I like to get al pastor in my nacho or fries . The chimichangas are so good they let you order half and half meat but they charge extra for tripas . There tripas meat is so crispy and flavorful. On certain days you can get 4 tacos for ten but it only includes al pastor , carne asada and I think chicken ? I forgot the third one. But the other day they gave my boyfriend and I each an extra taco for free also they added free guac for us that day. My favorite sauce is their orange sauce not sure what it is but it may be too spicy for some but worth that burning booty hole later. I wish this place gave us free chips on the side. read more

Ordered pick up through the online website. Order said it would be ready by 1:57pm. Came in at 1:58pm. Store was empty and told the lady I was pick up. She looked at me like she had no idea about my order. She apologized and said it will be out very shortly. Ordered 2 al pastor tacos, 1 cabeza taco and 1 lengua taco. She told me that they didn't have lengua so she asked if I wanted to replace with another cabeza. I said that was okay. Gave me to go cups for salsa and limes. Tacos were good. I like the pineapple slice on my pastor tacos. I just expected them to have my order by then cuz I had to wait. And if I was the only order online wouldn't they see it? This place looks new. I randomly craved tacos and decided to try this spot since it's nearby. I was not disappointed! The pineapple to the al pastor adds such a good flavor. I also got the asada and chicken, but I would stick to asada and al pastor next time! I also got carne asada fries and those weren't too bad. They do use cheese similar to nacho cheese. Tacos Chapala is a great, new addition to the plaza across CRC. Originally from Stockton, Tacos Chapala has opened their storefront in Sacramento just recently! My partner and I were excited to try and this lived up to our expectations. We were greeted with warm smiles and welcomes immediately as we walked in. Employees were friendly and answered questions about the menu, even providing recommendations! There were a few tables for people to dine-in and a fully stocked and clean sauce bar. Card payments are accepted but bring cash if you want to tip. At the time we went, tip using card wasn't working. Food itself was delicious! We ordered 4 tacos, carne fries and horchata. We chose carne asada, lengua, cabeza and al pastor. Let me tell you, they do not skimp on the portions! Meats were all flavorful and they have a salsa/sauce bar too. Sautéed jalapeños and onions included. Got us a side order of rice and chips too. The restaurant is spacious, clean and modern. Service was top notch! Tacos Chapala showed up on my instagram recently, so I decided to give them a try. Their ribeye tacos and burrito are exquisite. And well worth the price of admission alone. Ther al pastor was flavorful, smokey and I loved the pineapple slice. I sampled several of their salsas, and enjoyed them. The price is just about right, and I could see myself becoming a regular here. I think they're still working everything out as I only observed two people running the place on a Saturday night. An extra pair of hands or two could help speed up the wait times. Indoor seating was limited but there was plenty of seating outside in the patio and side of the building. The tacos were delicious, flavorful, and packed with meat. They have a salsa bar with many options to choose from. (The green guacamole salsa was the spiciest in my opinion). Service was friendly and attentive. There is plenty of seating inside and outside in their patio. I only wish they had refried beans, chips with their salsa bar, and a fountain drink dispenser. Social media trap! After scrolling through these tacos we decided to make the 30min trip. They have fair pricing. Tripas are deep fried which makes them super crunchy like chicharrones not my preferred way 2/10. Asada is thin cut steak on the flat top but lacks flavor and the smokiness of real carne asada 3/10. Lengua was also bland with good texture but very small protein portion in the 2 overcrunchy tortillas, the tortillas should be hot and soft and steamed would be the best! 3/10 Cabeza they were out of it. Alpastor was probably the best protein and this had obviously the most meat-tortilla ratio with good flavor 5/10 The ribeye/Tijuana taco which is the reason we made the trip was indeed the best still nowhere close to other ribeye tacos I've had South. 7/10 The salsa bar is nice and the service is very attentive. read more

We were craving mexican on a cold Thursday evening and my wife found this spot right off Yelp. First timers and SO glad we got a solid taco spot in EG. The meat was very tender. The Asada Taco, the meat was a litttttle well done, but salsa fixed that. Their al pastor was amazing. Super sweet and juicy; the marinade was great. Tortillas are great. Went to try this place because I seen it on TikTok and worst decision I could make I got sick for 3 days food was bad I went in and there was a cook and cashier the cook was so impatient he was waiting and looking at the register to see what we ordered just to get it over with then the cashier she just wanted us to order and leave when I simply asked what's inside the burrito she just says all the stuff and I asked like what then I asked if they had whole beans she said no but then didn't know what beans they even used and on top of that salsa bar is included but chips cost $3 and they give you a giant bag like you buy from the store I'm not sure why you would want a salsa bar with no chips but yeah after getting sick from here I won't be coming back and don't see them lasting long here read more

We went in today around 3:40pm and the male cook told the female cashier twice to look at the "gringo", my son as i held him on my hip and ordered my food. Out of all things to call him in spanish. The cashier didn't interact with my son though probably because he was being weird and disrespectful. Ive been to several mexican restaurants and they dont speak spanish to each other in front of the customer. He was also waving at my son trying to be funny. I don't appreciate that. They weren't friendly either & didn't make me feel welcome. I ordered the asada fries and they're the worst I've ever had. NACHO SAUCE (no shredded cheese) at the BOTTOM of the to go plate, NO SEASONING on the fries AT ALL. Cashier only gave me 2 salsa cups (from behind the counter) for this big plate. Theres more fries than meat. The meat is SUPER fatty too. Barely any meat. The place was EMPTY too. That's an indicator that their food is trash. We won't EVER be returning there. It's a shame that this place is already going down hill and it hasn't even been open for a month yet. I came on the weekend it first opened and the ambiance was incredible. Food was good and made correctly and staff were nice. Since I had a great first experience I decided to come today with some friends for their first try. For starters, the lady in the "queen" shirt was just staring us down from beginning to end. I witnessed my burrito being made wrong. The lady in the "queen" shirt on the prep line also noticed the mistake but continued to bag up my food anyways. It wasn't until she realized that I kept looking her way that she decided to untie the bag & take my burrito out to fix it. It baffled me that she was even considering giving me my order wrong KNOWING it was made incorrectly. To top it off, one of my friend's burritos was also made wrong and we did not realize until we got home. When we went back into the restaurant to have the order remade "queen" shirt lady would not own up to her mistaken. We saw "queen" lady make the order and she still had the nerves to blame the cashier. The cook accommodated by apologizing and providing a complimentary drink but as the cook was doing so "queen" shirt lady proceeds to say "i don't know who made your order but sorry."
