Came for grand opening! Arrived a little after 11, didn't leave until 11:30 ish, not many ppl in front but ordered alot each so quite slow. We got two bowls n 2 quesabirria tacos, one with half carne asada n birria , other with honey chicken and the other chicken i forgot. Total was less than 28. Idk only the bowls were 40% off, promotion a bit misleading. Birria tacos were fire, consome was flavorful! Lots of cheese and birria meat, very yummy. The bowls they give alot! ALOTTTT of rice lol, i got half mexican and cilantro rice, she gave soooo much. Meat a good amount as well! The birria meat is good, the asada meat is a bit bland and chewy, dont rec. The orange sauce is like a spicy chipotle sauce, not bad. Honestly better than chipotle for now, good portions, decent variety of toppings, salsas are nothing special but pretty good. Would come back! Minor complaint: the lettuce and fajitas r all cut so big, itd be nice if they were thinner

Ok so I've been coming to Savi pretty much every week now and I'm not even sorry about it. Everything is hella fresh. I always get the burrito bowl with carne asada, and they load it up with the corn salsa, pickled onions, pico, the works. It's honestly my go-to in Elk Grove when I want a burrito bowl, and I don't really look anywhere else anymore. The quesabirria tacos are the other reason I keep showing up. Crispy, cheesy, and the meat is super tender. The consomé is legit too. I ruined a shirt dunking one last time and would do it again. I'm just happy Elk Grove finally has a good quesabirria spot, because I used to have to drive way farther for it. Anyway, 5 stars. Go get the tacos and a bowl and thank me later.

Came to Savi's for the 1st time with my girlfriend per her recommendation, as she'd already been. She described Savi's as "Like Chipotle, but healthier". We arrived and it was pretty quiet inside so we went right up to the front to order. They have a "Build Your Own" & "Kitchen" and we both opted for the Build Your Own meal, which has a 5 step processor of; 1) Style, 2) Base, 3) Protein, 4) Toppings, 5) Salsa Ordered: Build Your Own - Al Pastor Build Your Own - Pollo Asado Chicken Overall: Really good new and fresh option to Chipotle. There was a number of good options to add to the Build your own, and I like the different Protein choices that I wouldn't find at the likes of a Chipotle. The Pastor was really good and I like the good hint of Pineapple. The staff was also very friendly and really helpful which is a major plus. And the colorful mural in the back of the restaurant adds a nice touch in the indoor vibe!

The flavor of the meats were good - honey chilli chicken, carne asada, and al pastor. The best was the carne asada and surprisingly flavorful chicken. The al pastor was good but not super authentic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The two of us only got 3 tacos and the guy warned us they were small - "it's ok we just want a snack", I said. We also ordered chips & queso. The queso was super GOOD! The only thing that I knocked a star off for is - my simple taco comes with cilantro and onion- I asked for it without onion... it came out with onion and then they remade it and asked if I wanted cilantro (um, yes). Also, I felt like I was eating my taco like a T-Rex. Even dine in orders are served in to go boxes. I think I would've preferred a plate. But maybe the boxes make the tacos look bigger. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the bowl or the burrito Since the meat flavors were pretty good. The place has a few tables inside, and a few tables outside on a small patio

Solid local place! Similar to chipotle and fresh ingredients. This new place opened up recently and I opted to try it on a Friday for lunch. It was really busy inside when my fiancé and I went. You order the same exact way as chipotle. Pick out your base, choice of rice, beans, protein, various salsas, etc. they had brown rice or cilantro lime rice too. Everything tasted really good and fresh. I was really impressed. They had their house sauce which tasted like Smokey salsa. It wasn't bad but wasn't for me. We ordered 2 chicken bowls to our own style and the chicken was really tender. It was also really well seasoned. I also really liked their pickled onions! The star of the show. The staff were really friendly and nice and even asked if it was enough of rice for each of us! There are a few tables to sit at, it's a little small inside though.

Glad to see a new local Mexican restaurant opening in Elk Grove especially with a similar concept like Chipotle in BYO bowl/burrito but with more options/customization! We order to go and I purchase their BYO bowl with El Pastor and love the differ option and their special orange SAVI sauce and the generosity of meat/topping! The quesabirria tacos was flavorful and loaded with meats/filling and the consume is not overly salty . Pricing was affordable and staff were friendly when I pickup. Definetly would gone back for a dine in experience .

Chicken burrito with lime rice, black beans, guac & veggies

I've had a lot of burritos in my day and the best way I'd describe Savi is it sits between a really good taqueria and Chipotle. Better than Chipotle but a step below a good taqueria. The honey chicken was grilled really well and the ingredients tasted fresh but the overall flavor of my burrito was not taqueria level. Not sure the lime rice had any lime juice in it. The black beans were basic but the tomatillo salsa was fantastic. I also added grilled veggies and the guac - both were thumbs up. This is a good spot to stop in for a quick bite if it's on the way.

The food is so flavorful! Love how they have a little bit of everything to cater to my two kids. My husband and I always have to pick places where the kids would eat. This place is definitely a spot that we added to our list of where to eat at. Normally I would build my own bowl/ or burrito but today my family got the quesadilla, street tacos, and QuesaBirria tacos. All so good! Lastly, if you are unsure what meat or sauce to pick? Not a problem, they let you try it before you commit. You won't be disappointed. *Update* Came back again. This time they have MEXICAN RICE! Delicious.

I was excited to get a new local place in Elk Grove! Most folks have compared this to Chipotle and I will say that's a pretty close comparison. I think I liked everything better except maybe the rice, it could use a little more cilantro and lime flavor but really solid overall. So you order the same way you would at Chipotle where you choose your vessel (burrito, bowl, taco, etc ) and then add your base, type of beans, protein, and toppings. Seems like they have more choices of toppings and meat though. My chicken bowl was really good and I loved the pickled red onion choice. My husband also had a bowl and did half carne asada and half honey chicken which was really delicious. The quessabirria tacos though were the bomb! The meat was juicy, flavorful and so tender. The melty cheese and crispy outside is mouthwatering delicious! A birria taco though is incomplete without the rich consume' broth and the broth did not disappoint. Service was friendly and the place is a little small but clean. Highly recommended Savi!

The restaurant concept of this is sort of like a Chipotle but way better and homemade recipes and salsa and meat too. . Did you have your tacos to Burrito bowls and queso birria tacos as well. . I love getting the burrito bowl because it has a nice cilantro lime rice and the topping that I chose was the carne asada and they don't skimp out on the meat. Also they do have your sauces like corn salsa to your mile medium and spicy salsa and fire Habaneros also as well. And there is also homemade guacamole which tastes just like the Chipotle one. Also I do love the extra touch of the pickle onions and jalapeno. . I also really like their queso media Taco which was very cheesy and oily also dipping in the sauce was really amazing. I told them that I can just do a cilantro lime rice and some birria taco dipping sauce on the side and add some onions and cilantro and call it a day which is so good. . The ambience here is casual and friendly family and kids welcoming as well . Also a great spot for grabbing go . Also the service was friendly and they are quick with making your order as well . Thanks for reading and hope this helps and have a Yelp plastic day.

Pastor bowl no rice, pickled onions is a nice touch!

I love Chipotle. Savi is the same vibe except savi taste like I made it at home which I love. The orange sauce is good I make it at home too. Chipotle peppers and sour cream I am guessing. I'd recommend for sure.

Tried this place out during their soft opening. Foodwise, I don't think it is better than what it's being compared to. For one, the rice is underseasoned. The orange sauce does save it. I also don't think the guacamole is as good. Pricesise, it was the same. Service is hard to review, because they are still getting their workflow, but one guy asked us the same question like 4 times. There is potential, I think I will visit again when they are more established.

Asada street tacos

Went for lunch, small restaurant, it was a lunch rush and it seemed like everyone was new and not quite sure of themselves. I realize it is new and the staff was new. It is set up like Chipotle. My wife got the chicken bowl and I got asada street tacos. I don't work close to Savi, so there is really not a reason for me to return anytime soon. The girl at the register had the most opportunities and I'm sure she will get better. No one really provided great customer service just assembly line work. Food was ok, I like mine my wife was hi hum about her bowl. We tried it. Bowl portions need to be more.

Great place better than their competition and their tacos were excellent! I like that you can create your own bowl or burrito.

I ordered the Slow Braised Birria Burrito with added onion and cilantro to go. It's good size for the price. The meat was juicy and flavorful. The last time I came by after 6 p.m., they had already sold out of the Garlic Shrimp and Chipotle Pineapple Pork--the two meats I was there to try. This time, I got the chance. I ordered the Queso Tacos, which come with three tacos and your choice of meat (fish and shrimp are available for an additional charge). They're topped with sour cream, Parmesan cheese, onions, and cilantro. Unfortunately, the tacos were only ok. The Chipotle Pineapple Pork was a bit too salty and oily. The Garlic Shrimp was also disappointing. The shrimp had become soft instead of having a nice bite, the shells were mushy, and the generous amount of sour cream overpowered the flavor. I was hoping for a little more texture and crispness. I also tried both the green and red salsas, but neither one stood out to me, as they were both pretty mild and didn't add much flavor to the tacos. The girl was nice though, she answered all of my questions. If I were to try this place again, maybe I'd try the street tacos or their bowl.

The person working the cash register was friendly and took our order quickly. My food came out in what felt like 5 minutes and tasted great. The price of my meal came out to a little more than what it would've been at Chipotle, but the generous helping of guac and edible bowl with a soft crunch I feel brings more value than the difference. I would say the freshness of the ingredients and their quality maybe be slightly under what I'm used to at other establishments, but combined the salad still delivered and I was definitely feeling full after eating everything and three quarters of the actual bowl. Access to an unlimited salsa bar and unlimited chips is also a great touch. The tables and chairs could've been a bit cleaner, but it wasn't egregious or anything. I'll definitely make an effort to come back more frequently. Hopefully the other items on the menu give as much bang for your buck as this one.
