Birria tacos comes in 3's with roja salsa.
    Matt T.

Ambience is outside seating; it is a taco truck but has a stationary location in town. Ordered tacos birria with quick service at 11am on a Thursday. Greeted and processed quickly with food coming out in under 5... immediately downed 1 of the 3 generous sized street style tacos with Roja salsa and did not disappoint. Slow roasted beef covered in cilantro and fresh chopped onions. Takeaways are fresh, quality ingredients with an eye for presentation and friendly staff!

The Bowl- no meat and a small cherry limeade

I ordered the bowl. It was a standard size bowl with rice , beans, cilantro, onions, tomatoes, cheese and a lime. I'm a vegetarian so I did not get meat. It came with 2 small sides of complimentary pico ounce cups. I also got a small cherry limeade. The food and drink were great. I found it to be pricey for $19.49. They should start posting prices again.

A large Torta with carnitas, refried beans, onions, tomatoes, avocado, cabbage, cotija cheese, and pickled jalapeños. Yum!...

I love these little food trucks, like hidden gems in small towns. They're fun spots to stop when walking around, or if you're just driving through at a time when all other foodie areas are too busy. I find that they're particularly fast with service, too, so I enjoy using them for lunchtime breaks! The only con is that they run out of certain items quickly, so time is always of the essence if you're aiming for specifics. Anything made with the Alpastor meat personally wins over my heart, although I think my favorite item on their menu is the semi-elusive Torta (due to occasional bakery supply issues). It's as big as my lap, and sometimes I question whether or not I'm even able to eat it all! It's great with double-meat, and a large Horchata or Sangria on the side. The Frescas are more of an acquired taste in comparison, and though I regretfully admit that I haven't dabbled much in the other menu options, this has definitely been adopted as my go-to order. Particularly since it would take six of anything else to satisfy me. One day, I plan to finally catch a truck that's serving the Burrito Chicano - I've seen it before on their menu, and hope I manage to snag one for myself to taste, but it never seems to be available when I check. Fingers crossed!

The yelp community was right again. This is 100% a 5 star taco truck. I literally ordered one of every taco and can honestly say these are the best tacos I've ever eaten in my 35 years on this planet. The chorizo and shredded chicken tacos were my absolute favorites though. The meat had so much flavor I literally cursed a few times while eating it. The employees were super sweet and they took credit/debit cards. My wife had a tostada and loved that as well. I definitely want to and will go back to try the other stuff on the menu. Man those tacos though...

    Chicken tacos with salsa verde

Stumbled upon this food truck on the way to the City of Atlantis and very happy we did. The customer service was great being greeted warmly with a smile and pleasant conversation. We ordered 5 chicken tacos and one steak. They had salsa verde in a squeeze bottle readily available for all guests. The tacos came out quickly and were quite good. So good, actually, that we were back and ordered two more steak. The steak reminded me of diced ribeye on a cheesesteak. The chicken was marinated in a chipotle sauce that gave it a little kick. We will definitely be returning.

I come to Hammonton a lot because my mother lives right down the road and I always mean to stop by and I finally did and I haven't been disappointed. For 2$ a tacos I seriously couldn't find a better deal. I love coming here to surprise my husband with food. He loves the burrito with avocado in it. Prices are amazing, food is amazing.

Don't miss this spot if you're in the area. Was there for my sons soccer showcase tournament and no way was I going to waste an opportunity to try the local area fare. Drove off from the rubbish served on the fields to look for this place with dodgy phone connection. Found this gem. This place should be no secret. Great food, fresh tortilla and flavorful fare. Best of all prices absolutely scrumptiously.

Tacos al pastor y bistek asada

Oh man, this taco truck has been in the same dirt lot at the same intersection in Hammonton for at least 15 years. The past couple of weeks, I've been passing the truck every morning on my way to work, except it's going west on the pike to God knows where. Anyway, I figured it might be some kind of a subconscious sign that I should finally check the truck out. I stopped by on a Friday night around 7 and there was a few locals enjoying food on the bench right next to the truck. The gentleman cooking was friendly and got my order out quickly. I ordered one taco al pastor and one bistec asada, with onion and cilantro of course. I didn't specify if I wanted it to-go, and he never asked, but he packed the tacos up in foil and a bag anyway. I guess he probably figured the little white girl was not gonna chow down on some tacos by herself with 5 other Mexicans, but I gladly would have. I appreciate that they give 2 tortillas per taco, just like Pancho's! Definitely not useful for me, though, so they didn't get eaten. The tortillas were warm and soft, however, and just the right amount of chewy. The al pastor had a nice pineapple flavor. It wasn't too greasy, and there was a very ample amount of meat. The pork itself, however, could have used some seasoning. This al pastor would have rivaled Pancho's if it had a little kick to it; a dash of salt and some spice. Still good, nonetheless. The bistec asada, on the other hand, was out of this world. Perfectly seasoned, tasty, moist, and amazingly complemented by the fresh onion and cilantro. YAY for fresh cilantro! A word on parking: don't bother. The lot the truck sits on is also residential parking, so chances are you'll be much better off parking on the other side of Peach Street. Also, if my math is correct (and that's a big if), the tacos are $1.75 each. I left satisfied and full of piggy goodness. I will definitely come back to this truck for a quick lunch or dinner.

The bartender overheard our conversation and emphatically directed us to La Carreta. Hammonton already has some of the best options for authentic Mexican food and now this one is right at or near the top of the list. The location is great. It's connected to Vinyl Brewing so you can get your food to go and enjoy a beer next door (like I did), however the inside is very cute and welcoming. I love the decorations and the furniture is beautifully finished wood. They also have a few tables outside for dining on nice days. The staff was very nice, apologetic (even though they didn't need to be), and accommodating. I like how the menu is set up as it's very easy to follow. Now for the most important part: the food. Everything we ordered was incredible. Carnitas tacos, chicken burrito, Alambres, and el Toxico torta. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and made to order. The tacos are a La carte so you can order as many or as little as you'd like, and you can mix and match (for now at least)! The carnitas were tender and the tacos had raw and grilled onions. The portion sizes on the burrito, Alambres, and torta were huge and the price was more than reasonable. The Alambres was grilled steak, cheese, onions, and peppers and came with 5 homemade tortillas and rice. The burrito had a very nice sear on the outside giving the tortilla a great crisp. The torta (which I ordered) was great. Grilled ham, breaded steak, chicken, egg, avocado, onion, and tomato. There were so many things I wanted to try on the menu, but I knew that had to be my first order. I wasn't disappointed by any means and now I'm going to have to come back soon to try many more menu items.

Luckily, I pass by two taco trucks on the drive home from Hammonton, and I decided to give Tacos y Tortas La Carreta a try! Parking is an issue, if you come by way of vehicle. Use the lot if there's room, park on the street if there's not. Tacos y Tortas serves tacos and tortas (duh) as well as quesadillas and sopes. They also have horchata and Jarritos. Today, I ordered one taco al pastor, and one taco carnitas. Let me just say first of all, they get points for even having al pastor and lengua, so that's that. Also, the tacos are $1.50 each, and you can't beat that with a stick! The woman cooking in the truck was sweet and polite. I like that you can sit outside or head inside where there are several tables and a restroom. The food itself, well, I think I've been spoiled by Pancho's in Atlantic City. I found the pastor to be overly oily, and the carnitas to be a bit dry. The tortillas were warm, but not very soft, so I had to forgo them and just eat the meat. Probably most disappointing was that the cilantro wasn't very fresh. I was so looking forward to that savory, cilantro-y taste and smell, and unfortunately it just wasn't there. But, having taco trucks in town is super cool and a great alternative for workday lunch. I would definitely come back to try to quesadillas and sopes.
