Admidst the sea of gourmet dining options in Michelin star restaurants in the area, I just wanted a good freaking burrito. One with heaps of tender and flavorful shredded beef. Not all of that carne asada or *gasp* ground beef. The name of this food truck alone was enough to make me hit a mean u-turn and check it out. When I tell you I was not disappointed.... The first thing I noticed is that they sell birria tacos, which are my obsession at the moment. Naturally I had to get an order of those. After I placed my order, I asked the doña of the truck if it was possible for her to make me a burrito with the same shredded beef used in the quesabirra tacos. I might as well have asked her if she had two eyes because she gave me an enthusiastic "yes" like it was the most obvious thing in the world. I knew I was in for a treat, but I had no idea it was going to be this good. First of all, this burrito weighed about as much as a newborn baby. I'm not exaggerating when I said I literally needed two hands to eat it. And it took me 3 days... THREE FREAKING DAYS... to finish it. It wasn't for lack of trying, believe me. But there was so much beef in it that after a few bites I found myself throwing in the towel. The beef was so tender you didn't even eat teeth to eat it. The other ingredients were also well seasoned, and were properly proportioned as supporting cast to the copious amounts of delectable beef stuffed inside this warm and fluffy tortilla. And don't think I forgot about the tacos. I actually saved those for my last day in town. No lie, I coordinated my entire travel schedule around those tacos. I wanted to take them on the plane with me but I didn't want to put them on ice. I wanted to enjoy them hot, instead of stuffing them in my face on a crowded plane. I actually arranged for a later hotel check out my last day in town so that I would have time to enjoy them properly before heading to the airport. They were totally worth the effort. If this is how good they were reheated, I can only imagine what they were like fresh. First of all, the tacos were huge. HUGE!! Truthfully, I was full after the first one but there was no way I was going to leave the other two behind. The consommé and a squirt of fresh lime juice just took them over the top. Un.Freaking.Believable. Believe me, if there was a way for me to get an extra order or two home on a cross country flight, I would have absolutely done that. What I loved the most is that the doña of the truck was so humble about her food. Several times she asked me to let her know how I liked the food and if it was okay. I more than "liked" it. Those were single-handedly two of the greatest things that have ever blessed my tastebuds. An unspeakably delicious way to satisfy a craving.

The meats they have are pollo, asada, lengua, tripas & birria. The tacos are bomb, we always get the tripas. Cooked perfectly, both crispy & chewy.
